Laurie's latest challenge

Good evening ladies, Kel and I are on a challenge roll. So we figured we just keep on going. I did this page for two different challenges. The first challenge is, http://getyoursketchon.blogspot.com/ . I love this blog because each week they have a new challenge layout. Go on over and check them out. The second challenge is for, http://www.creativecutter.org/ for this challenge you have to have a bug on your layout. I think the butterflies fit the bill. They are giving away a cricut cartridge. Go on over and check them out as well.

I actually stitched on my page. I just got the W R Memory Keepers Sew Easy Piercer. Let me tell you I love this new tool. It works awesome!! I got it over at HSN, and I can't even sew a button, and look at the stitch I did!!

Here is what I used to make my layout:

DCWV Linen Closet Stack

Butterflies are cut from Sentiments cartridge the big one is cut at 3" and the smaller ones at 1 3/4".

I used the Tim Holtz Alterations folder on the circle.

The letters are from Dajaview self adhesive.

LOVE IT!! ANOTHER CHALLENGE - By Laurie

Good evening!! I did another challenge (I told you Kel and I were very busy getting our challenges on!!). I did this challenge for two challenges, http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com/ this is a great blog with fun, fun challenges and make you scrap your stash and http://getyoursketchon.blogspot.com/ . They are a fun bunch over there and offer different sketches every week and fun prizes!! So this is my take on the sketch. Not the best timing on my part (doing this page), as my poor Patriots lost last week and are out of the running, so sad. I love me some football. This is my and hubby at a game. Well we were actually a store near the stadium after the game, letting the traffic go.

I did the banner use the Sports Mania cartridge. I used the Design studio to weld it together and then use George and the Basic Shape for the letters. I decided to use white paper as my background and then I glimmer misted a bit of blue.

Challenges done by Kel and Laurie

The weekend has arrived. Woohoo!! Kel and I got together last night and did a few challenges we will show the others through the week. This one is due today. We entered the challenge over at http://papercraftstar.blogspot.com/ You have to use at least two of the following colors, and two of the following, ribbon, embossing, stamped image or die cut. Kel is also entering her card over at http://peachykeenstampschallenge.blogspot.com/

This is Kel's take. This card is soo cute. She used brown's and blues and die cut the butterflies, embossed the little blue strip and stamped on the butterfly. I love, love this card. The polka dot paper is from DCWV Linen stack, such an awsome stack. The blue paper is StampinUP! Great job, Kel!

I chose this because I am going to entering it in another challenge (will show during the week). I choose the blue and the pink and I embossed the little cup. I used a Tim Holtz folder, they really cut deep, some places actually ripped and this is StampinUP! paper. This is from Tags, Boxes and more cart. I inked the edges of the cup and used this little friends die cut.

I also entered my cute little cup over at http://magchallengebythepage.blogspot.com. This is an awesome blog that you use your cricut carts for the challenges, great fun!

CROP PROJECTS

Good morning ladies - once again is snowing in Boston! This is one snowy winter! I did this layout at the crop and it was sooo easy. I used two pieces of Bo Bunny coordinating paper. A few embellishments and I was done. I was so happy with the end result. This is picture of my girl cousins, my niece, my sister-in-law and my sister at Thanksgiving. I love these ladies. This is a little piece of chipboard that I used a rub on from Creative Memories and added some ribbon from StampinUp!!

Family is cut from the Heritage Cartridge, I love this cart, page 39 cut @ 3 inches.

The tree is also from the Heritage cart, cut at 5 inches, it is on page 24.

Here is the end result. I was so happy with it!! I am on the far left and my sis is the second from the right.

12x12 Layout by Kel

This is another layout with my daughter. She just LOVES to take pics of herself... LOl.. I think it's great that she expresses herself that way. I wasn't sure what to do with these pics because the background of the room in her pics is this awful mustard yellow..ugg.. But, I pulled it together with the Linen stack from my favority fave DCWV. Then, Dawn had these transparent floral pieces. The top border then the overlay on the bottom right. i just LOVE these. I forget who makes them, but I will check it out.. the ricrak along the left are these cool borders from Bazzil. They are white and I just inked it. The pack comes with all kinds of designs. Both the transparents and the bazzill pieces are really fun to use and they so brought this page together. You'll notice that the page layout is similar to the one I used yesterday.

LAYOUT by Kel

Here is a layout I did at the recent crop I went to. It's my daughter in her Halloween costume.. She went to a concert with her friend Dee in which they both dressed up. Later another friend had a get together and her friend was the Cookie Monster.. LOL. This layout was pretty simple. I rounded some edges on some paper, I added some swirls around the edges and then some cute Elmo stickers. I didn't want the tradish halloween colors, but Idid add a strip across the middle about trick or treating. Which at 16 she still did.. LOL Can't keep a girl away from her chocolate.. LOL. PS, sorry about the glare in pic.. I was in a rush when I took.

CHALLENGE by Laurie

Good Sunday morning Ladies. I entered a challenge over at http://getyoursketchon.blogspot.com/ They have a fun circle challenge and I love me some circles. They have some great layout challenges you should go on over and check them out. Sometimes it helps to get those pages done. This is the challenge.

Here is my take on it. I have a pets stack, I think it is DCWV and I saw a clever, clever idea over on Jean's blog, http://jeanscraftycorner.blogspot.com/
Jean used the cricut to cut her pictures. I thought I would give it a go. I used George and the Basic Shapes to cut out all my circles, and cut out my circle pictures as well. It worked like a dream. Thanks for the great idea!! I have so many dog embellishments, I put them to good use on this page. Our German Shepherd's name is Jake (he came with that name, our youngest wanted to change it to Thunder) and our Golden Retriever is Lightning, hence the title J&L.
Enjoy your Sunday and gooooooo Patriots!!!

Example, I have made so far (I need to get busy), 10 birthday cards, and then I think I will make 10 sympathy cards and maybe 10 thank you cards. You don't have to make 3 sets of 10 of the same, you can make 30 different if you like, or 2 sets of 15 if you like, totally up to you. I am trying to make this as clear as I can, I hope it works, lol. Sometimes not easy to put in words, lol!
3) Email me and I will give you my mailing address, lbaires@comcast.net.
4) Make sure you put a self addressed stamped envelope in the package you send to me. What we have found works is, just put the same amount of postage you use to mail the package on the envelope on the inside envelope.
5) Of course have fun!

12x12 Layout by KEL

Here's a page that I put together at the crop I went to on Saturday! We had so much fun and a lots of laughs. This lo is pretty simple. I used a white bazzil border strip on the left page. I stamped it and ran ribbon through.! I punched the edge of the picture mat with a MS pointsetta PAP punch. I embossed and sanded the strip under the pics on the right page using Laurie's 12" cuttlebug plate..I forget the name sorry. I'm pretty sure that the papers I used are Cloud 9.

Good Friday morning all!! Kel, Dawn and I are so excited it is Friday, tomorrow is our all day crop. That is right ladies 12 hours of non-stop scrapping, card making and NO husbands!! Woohoo!!!!

Here is a layout I did a while ago, but it fits so well in with the brad theme, I thought I would pull it out. I wish I had the Brad Outlet when I did this page, they have such a HUGE selection.
This is me pregnant with our first son (who will be 16 in May). There is a ton of white space which I know drives Kel and Dawn crazy, but I wanted to showcase the picture of me, because I don't have that many pictures of me pregnant and the picture is a 4x6.

Now on to the Swap. Ok you have until the 9th to decide if you want to participate in the swap. You need to make three all occasion cards per person. We will CAP at 10. Right now we have 7 people (So that means 21 cards):

6) Rhonda - Bumblebee
