Graduation Card

Here is a card I made for our friend's daughter for her graduation. I am trying to get better and making cards. I am more of a scrapbooker, but I am trying.

I started out with a 5.5 card base and then I cut out the "Class of" from Wild Card, at are you ready for this 10.50, that was as big I could go! That is no way shape or form 10.50! Sometimes the Cricut does drive me crazy!!! I used Plantin School book for the 2011 and I shadowed that. Bakers Twine, the star paper is from my stash and the word graduation and the diploma is from Joelee Boutique embellishments. The yellow strip of paper, embossed with Forest Branches and I used a Fiskars punch on the edges.

Funny story about the punch. I had my older son (16) with me and I had to run to Michaels, and he said do you need me to come in. I was going to say no, but realized I had two coupons, and then I thought if I see something I really want he can wait in line with one of he coupons. He was all game and off we went. I made it a quick trip, but the fact he wanted to come I was thrilled!!!! I got this punch for $7.50.

He turned 16 in May and let me tell you, I am LOVING this 16 year old!! He has changed, all for the good and he really is growing up into a gentleman, makes me sad and proud at the same time!!

BLOG HOP - BLOG HOP - BLOG HOP

Welcome to the Basket Case Blog Hop!! Kel and I are so excited to show off our fun Easter centerpiece we made. We started with a glass vase measuring 6 x 5.5 we purchased at JoAnn's with a coupon. We used vinyl to decorate it. We used the following cartridges for this project, Plantin Schoolbook for the grass page 69 cut at 7"x 3" and A Child's Year page 33 for the eggs cut at 1.5" x 1", the clouds were from Create a Critter page 28 cut at 3" x 1.5." Feel free to add spring flowers, or butterflies if you make one of your own. We cuttlebugged the images using Tiny Mossiacs, Swiss Dots, Divine Swirls and Bubbles. The adorable pink and blue treat holder 3D eggs were made by Dawn on her silhouette. This was such a fun project to do and it was so easy to use the vinyl. Basically cut, peel and stick and your project is done. We have been having so much with vinyl that we are GIVING AWAY 4 PIECES OF 12 X 12 VINYL to a lucky winner during this blog hop (check side bar for prize).
So please be sure to comment, following is OPTIONAL and we will pick one winner from both days of comments. So if you comment both days you have a better chance of winning!!
