ANOTHER ENTRY AND A WINNER

Good Sunday morning all. I hope the weekend is going well!! We all went to a graduation party last night. Our good friend's daughter graduated from High School and she had her party last night. We had such a great night, catching up with old friends. Time really goes by so fast.

This entry is from Dawn, and I LOVE, LOVE the fact that she is in the picture. When is the Mom ever in the picture??? I love the flow and colors of this layout, she did a fantastic job. This was from her recent trip to Disney. She also used pieces of the actual lei on the layout. Here are the deets:

Tiki Time paper by Reminisce
Flourish and Ohana title cut with the Silhouette
Bling, brads and blue flowers from stash
Yellow flowers from lei

Since Dawn is on our "design team" she is isn't eligible for the prize, lol. So the winner goes to...................Jean (well of course Jean, she is the only one that submitted an entry, that really does increase your odds of winning). Remember the awesome page Jean did, http://jeanscraftycorner.blogspot.com/2011/07/flicks-movies-layout.html. I love this page, it came out awesome, thanks for playing along Jean. I have a two cuttlebug folders for you as a well as some rub-ons.

Please email me your address @ lbaires@comcast.net

Thank you card by Dawn

Good morning! Boy this week is flying by! Here is an adorable, adorable card Dawn made for my son and me for taking care of her cat. This cat on this card is too cute, and her cat is black too!! I love the card, the layering is awesome and I love the tag. Dawn and her daughter took our dog's for a walk while we were on vacation, so I think they had the harder job. Andrew and I just had to go over and feed the cat, and keep her company for a little bit. She had to deal with two great big dogs (all she does love them).

Here are the details:
Tag: manila office tag inked with Walnut Stain
Kitty embellie: Basic Grey
Flourish stamps: Stampin’ Up!
Thank you stamp: Hero Arts
Striped Paper: Rusty Pickle
Rub ons, Flower and ribbon: stash

Don't' forget about the challenge, it ends this Saturday at 9:00 pm est. There are two cuttlebug folders and rub ons for the lucky winner!!! See the sidebar for details. If you have any questions please email me at lbaires@comcast.net.

Laugh Often

Good morning! Sorry, I didn't get to my Harry Potter pages, but I promise I will get to them as soon as I can. I have a friend that is going through a really, really tough time. She has to be one of the strongest woman I know and has such an amazing sense of humor, I wanted to remind her I was thinking of her and to laugh often. I also saw this challenge over at one of Marlene's blogs, and I wanted to get this in over there, http://squigglefly.blogspot.com. You have to use Kraft paper. You have to check out the work of Marlene's team on this one, AMAZING!!! I am going to admit I have an addiction to Kraft Paper, I use it all the time. The base of this card is Kraft paper. Here is the recipe for this card:

Kraft paper for the base of the card.

Accent Essential Cart - for the two frames, pg 78, cut @ 3.25 and 3.75

Beyond Birthdays - Laugh Often, 2.25 and then I shadowed it.

Tim Holtz paper for the frames and the cranberry paper - Ideology - Lost and Found Paper

Tim Holtz Embossing folder Alternations (lined paper)

Swiss Dots Embossing Folder for the Laugh Often

Buttons and twine from my stash.

I am back......

Isn't this eagle amazing? We saw him high up in a tree when we went on an airboat ride, sooo cool!!

Hello everyone! Boy I missed you all! We have returned from Florida! We had a great time. Our boys are at such good ages, they both love rollercoasters and had a wonderful time. I bought a Harry Potter Scrapbooking kit and I took a ton of pictures in the Harry Potter Theme park, so maybe I will get to that tonight. I am still trying to catch up with your blogs, so excuse the delay, I will get there!! Welcome to our new followers!

Kel is still having internet issues, and couldn't post last week, she is not happy!!

How much fun is this page??? I love it! I comes from one our of favorite blogs, Jean over at http://jeanscraftycorner.blogspot.com/. Her blog is so much fun and she has such talent. She also has a tutorial of how she did the popcorn. Doesn't it look real?

In case you don't know the challenge we have going; it is any size scrapbook page, family fun theme and use any element, embellishment, or tool you haven't used in a while. Jean chose puffy paint and it works sooo well with the popcorn. Deadline for the challenge is July 30 at 9:00 pm est.

THANKFUL

Good morning everyone!! It is nice and cool here in Massachusetts, welcome relief from the 95 and high humidity from the past few days.

I whipped up this card from my Dad who will be staying at our house next week while we are on vacation. We are headed down to Florida for the week.

We have two dogs, so I had to put two dogs on the card. My younger guy wouldn't have it any other way. He is always very fair when it comes to the dogs. They both have to get the same thing all the time. Cookies, treats, balls, whatever it is.

Here is a picture of our handsome guys, Lightning is the Golden Retriever and Jake is the German Shepherd. Jake is one and Lightning it 10! I swear Lightning rolls his eyes ALL the time at Jake because he is always getting into something or doing something wrong, lol!!

I used Paper Pups for the little dogs and bone on the card. I have a pet paper stack from DCWV ( I have used the entire stack, time to replenish). I used a Tim Holtz on the blue paper. The thankful stamp is from my stash.
I am also entering this, thanks to Jean, over at http://myshericrafts.blogspot.com.

Kelly's Home Decor Project

Kel is having trouble with blogger, shocking I know!! Someone really needs to fix the issues everyone is having, lol!!

Kel and her daughter love, love anything Twilight.

Here are the deets:
I did this for Amanda's room, she has a vampire-ish theme happening, and wanted a little something for a new shelf she put up in her new room. It's so much fun to do stuff like this for her :)

I used Happy Hauntings cartridge
I cut at 1.5 inches
AND, did the shadow correctly.. LOL
I inked the edges with the marachino cherry
I got the frame at a yard sale :)

I am not a Twilight fan, but I love this. I think so clever and outstide the box (even though it's in a box, lol).

Awesome job Kel!!

Hope everyone is keeping cool!

STILL BUSY MOVING..UGGG

Here are some cards I whipped up to get my new address and phone number to friends and family. This was found on the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. I totally did not do the shadowing correctly, but went with it anyhow.. LOL. It sorta fit.. it sorta looked fine.. I had sorta printed everything out instead of cutting one and making sure it was ok.. oops.. LOL. So, I went for it, and here is the result! I kept it simple and just inked the edges and added some white pen dots to the words. Inside is a card with my info on it. I cut the envelopes out too for the pure fact that with the gazillions of boxes I have yet to go through are my envelopes somewhere in the sea of cardboard!, so I had to make my own... LOL. I hope everyone is having a great summer! Dawn and her family are off at Disney this week.. woo hoo!

Family Fun Time - Card Style

I had to make a card for my older sister, she just became a grandma! So I decided to make it non traditional. It started out traditional, and then took a turn when I saw the the little calendar.

The base of the card is from a DCWV card pack, I love these cards, bigger than the traditional card. 5x5. A little more postage is needed, but worth it. I cuttlebugged the white piece with Tim Holtz folder.

The baby was born July 6, so with the eraser of a pencil dipped in ink, and stamped on the 6. Such a clever little idea I learned from my StampinUP lady and friend, Susan!

It's a boy is cut from Stork's Delivery cut and 2" and layers 1 and 2 as well, page 1.

The tag is cut from Tags, Bags and Boxes cut at 4.50 pg 90.

Another family fun day - What tools/embellisment did I use??

Hello everyone!!! I am so excited, headed to go and see the boys of summer tonight (The Red Sox). My favorite two people are coming up from New Jersey (my aunt and uncle) and we are ALL going. So much fun!!!!

Ok, so here is another family fun thing we like to do. We have a fire pit and in the fall and early winter we love to have one in the back yard. I have been told by Kel it is like camping (she is a camper, I am not, and she is trying to get me to camp,I don't do bugs). We usually have Kel and her hubby over. So I broke out my Glimmer Mist and my "must have" Three Birds on Parade awesome sticker pack. I saw this really cool technique in a scrap magazine. Punch out squares, circles, whatever shape you want. Place then on your paper with removable tape (as you can see I didn't have that). Once you have them placed where you want, spray the glimmer mist all over the page. Now, I have to buy more glimmer mist, lol!! Let it dry and take off the square off paper. That was the result. So cute. I love the look.
I used these two colors. Here is my Three Birds on Parade sticker pack. It has soo many different themes and letters, it really was a great buy. It has been sitting on my shelf forever. I said I have to pull it out. I am so excited because I found cute baby stickers in here and I am working on a baby book from my cousin and his wife, so it pays to through your stash!!!

Here is the finished product!! I had 2.5 x 2.5 pictures of us out by the firepit and I placed them over the already made frames. Sooo adorable. All the swirls, tabs, frame and title are from the sticker stack. I did add a few perfect pearls here and there.

Family Fun Time AND Challenge time!!

Good morning to all!! Hope you had a wonderful long weekend and 4th of July!!! We had a great day, celebrated with family and great friends, Kel and Dawn! The weather held out. It did down pour for about a minute, most folks were in the pool to it didn't matter!!!

We decided it was challenge time! We haven't had one in quite some time, so get your thinking caps on!!! The challenge is to do a scrapbook page, any size you like, and the subject is Family Fun Time! The catch (there is always a catch isn't there!), you have to use an element, a tool, and embellishment that you haven't used in a long time. You have to tell us what that embellishment/tool is. You have until July 30th to get enter your page. Please enter a new project. We have a fun prize of two embossing folders, and a some fun rub-ons. Unfortunately, the prize is in my husband's truck and he is off to work. I will get a picture up soon!!! You do not have to be a follower to enter, but if you would like to follow us we would love to have you! Please email me, Laurie, your page to lbaires@comcast.net. We LOVE to show off your work and give your blog props as well!! All about the scrapping it forward!!

This is take on my family fun time. We went bowling a few months back and I finally got these pages done. I bought a template at CK Manchester and have been dying to use it (this is my tool). I used it on the bottom of the page with the two kids bowling.

I also took a pic of the score board, so we could remember the winner and the scores!! Dawn's daughter won, girl power!!

I found fun bowling embellishments from K&Company.

I took a close up of this picture, because I used Photo Elf, to write on the picture. My son and Dawn's daughter would have a meeting right before they bowled every time, telling each other how they should throw the ball. It says, "Meeting of the minds". I love me some Photo Elf
