BABY BOY

With all the talk about baby boys yesterday, I thought I'd post this. It's a page I did for an 8x8 album I did for my nephews son. YIKES..I feel like my nephew was just born and he is 26! My own baby boy is 18. WOW, where does the time go??? This is pretty simply done. With and 8x8 I feel you don't want to squish the page up with too much stuff.. So, some inking, a border, a sticker and the cute lil bib from The CM Special Delivery cricut cartridge was all I needed for this page. Now go hug your babies no matter if they are 2 months or 30 years !! Enjoy your day!

BIRTHDAY BOYS

Good morning. We have had sun for two days now, life is good in New England and it's getting warm. So Dawn's son's bday was yesterday he turned 6. My son's bday is today and his 16!!!! Waaaaahhh, I am not sure where the time goes. I remember when Dawn's son was born and they came home from the hospital, we weren't the besties we are today. I so wanted to see the baby, but didn't want to intrude. So I get a call from Dawn that said, so are you coming over to see the baby or what? At that moment I think became besties. The first card is for my son, he is a big baseball guy. He plays on two teams and loves everything that has to do with baseball. I am loving this little guy, so darn cute.

When I uploaded the pics I did it in the wrong order and I tried to fix it didn't work. But you get it!! This is the inside of Dawn's son's card.

Here is the outside, I love, love this little owl guy. Dawn colored it to make it look like a little guy colored it. So darn cute. Anything with an owl I love!!!!!

CHIC

And yet another one from yesteryear.. LOL. Back in my "just started scrapping" days. I think I really liked the tearing technique. Eh, still do. The scallops are from a CM punch. I really love this punch. It does both layers. Pretty cool! The word CHIC was done on the Cricut and I obviously had no clue how to shadow my letters..but I went with it. LOL. I stamped down the left side and pretty much, that's all she wrote. This pic is of my daughter when she first got her prescription sunglasses.. Woo hoo!

A BIG THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK

It's Monday again. Wasn't it just Monday yesterday? It is raining yet again in New England. I am seriously thinking about building an ark! We had a gorgeous day on Saturday and that was it!! Back to doom and gloom.

Here is a thank you card I did for Dawn for the awesome birthday gift she gave me. Let's just say I scored big with Tim Holtz prizes!! Who doesn't love them some Tim Holtz? That dude is amazing!!

A big good luck goes out to Kel, she is starting her new job today!! Good luck Kel. You will rock the place.

I made this card with a lot of Tim Holtz' stuff. The clocks are Tim Holtz paper that I trimmed up. The pink paper is also Tim Holtz paper.

I used the beautiful crinkly ribbon and the pin is from StampingUp! I used perfect pearls around the edges of the white paper. The word Thank you is cut from the new cartridge that is on the E2 - Cricut American Alphabet.

Perfect Pearls are the three little dots above the ribbon. As you can see one of the dots is pushed in. I HAD to test it, of course I did!! Not dry. Dawn totally understands, as we always have to feel things!! Too funny!!

Have a wonderful day!! Happy Monday!!

BLOOM

Here is another LO I did back a long while ago.. It was before the days of buying pre-made flowers so I made my own by cutting up shapes.. The word Bloom is made of chipboard letters. I also used the Fiskars embossing sytem to hand draw and hand space the embossed hearts into the strip on the left. With Cuttlebug and Petaloos, I can now save myself about 1 hour.. LOL and do the same thing now.. LOL. Title says: Childhood ends when the novelty of make-believe wears off....may you always believe

ATTITUDE

Here is a LO I did a long while back.. I had seen the idea for the barbed wire look and the cardboard in some book, I forget. The barbed wire is easy. You draw wavy lines in a thick black marker..you go inside the same lines with white, and along the way you make the 3 vertical lines 2 long and one short in the middle. Easy peasy stuff and it really looks pretty cool I think.. The cardboard is just some I found around and I pulled off the top layer to expose the bumpy texture I wanted. I originally saw the techniques used on a boys page..to make it look rough and tough I guess.. But, thats' my daughter many times..LOL.. So I did it for her

Hi ladies. I cannot say enough about how much I love thie Nancy O'Dell template and page planner set from Creative Memories! It's easy peasy. I am moving, so I came across soooooo many boxes of pictures. I was overwhelmed and had no idea how I'd even begin to tackle scrapping them. After getting rid of over half of them that were doubles or had me or my husbands finger in the shot, lol, I sorted them by event or theme. I then pulled out the CM templates and I had pages done in minutes! The plates have all the measurements on them...its a breeze. The book has every idea for every occasion you can imagine! This is what I came up with. Twelve pics..done..scrapped..love it!. It's a collage of my family at this place in Maine we go to. In fact, my daughter is the gal on the swing in the middle on the cover of the brochure.. LOL. Pardon the darkness of the photos...it's so gloomy cloudy here.. there is absolutely no natural sunlight anywhere...waaahaaa

PA AND HIS DOLLHOUSE

Good morning ladies. Thank you sooooo very much for your birthday wishes! It means a lot to me!!

Here is a layout I did of my Dad. Building doll houses is one of his many hobbies, so I thought I would capture him doing what he loves best.

I can not take credit for the layout of this page. Kel saw this layout over on one of our new followers Tracey, @ http://gracescraps.blogspot.com/. Thanks, Kel for scrapping it forward and thanks Tracey for this awesome layout.
Ladies you need to head over over and check out Tracey's blog, she has some amazing work!!!

The cardstock I used on this page is Cor'dinations and all the strips are from my scraps, and I then cuttlebugged a few with a folder that looks like wood. I used sandpaper all over the page as well as on the strips, to give it a weathered look. The tools are stamps from StampinUP, I think from Tool Time. The letters are from my new E2 (loving her) from the Cricut Alphabet (awesome cart), it comes preloaded on the E2.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LAURIE

It was Laurie's birthday yesterday, and Dawn made her this amazing card.

"A friend is a bit of everything,

that makes life good and sweet,

And you, my friend, are all of that,

You make our lives complete!"

Many more our friend! I hope you enjoyed your day!

RAK...THE BESTEST BFF'S

Here is a picture of the gorgeous basket of flowers that Dawn, Susan and Laurie sent me. I was sooo surprised to get them. I'm moving and I'm going a little bananas and I'm also closing a business I ran for 10 years, and it's a bit sad :( I"ve been texting , calling and emailing them all the fun (YA RIGHT) that I've been having, lol, and not one text, call or email has fallen on deaf ears. They are great listeners, box getters, scrap storers and advice givers. I've been thanking the stars that I've got such great friends. Thanks gals!!

SHE HAS ARRIVED, SHE HAS ARRIVED

I am so excited. My E2 has arrived and a week early! I love me some HSN. I was able to play with it a little big Monday night, but haven't been down to the scrapcave to visit her since then.I hope she is ok!! I am hoping this weekend!! It comes with 4 really fun cartridges.

This is a picture of the screen with images ready to be cut on it. I love this because it shows exactly where they will cut on the mat. Really no more guessing the size it will print.

And then she tells you when she is cutting, so sweet and smart!!! LOL

Here she is in all her cutting glory.

I was just playing around with all the screens! I hit fill the page and look at what happened! It's like an E2 miracle.

I am loving the touch screen, it is super easy to use. I know that Kel has the Gypsy and the touch screen is not so easy. They must have taken that into consideration. I have to say right of the box, I was able to cut without to much fanfare. I am really digging it so far.

I do have a question for those that have one. Can you move the image around on the mat? I can't see to do that.

FUN LAYOUT BY DAWN - LOVING THE SPRING COLORS

Good morning ladies and ladies!! I am starting to think not knowing what day it is runs in my family. My older son thought today was Saturday, at least I was only a day off!! LOL

Here is fun layout that Dawn did, that I just love! The awesome thing about this "springy" layout is that it is her daughter in her Halloween costume. Just goes to show you, just because you have a certain theme (halloween), it doesn't have to have the colors you would expect it to have. I love this picture of her daughter.

Here are the deets from Dawn "Background and patterned paper and letters: We R Memory Keepers Nonsense stack
Flower circle frame cut with the Silhouette
Brads: Doodlebug Designs
Rub on Letters: Making Memories
Paper Flowers: stash"

Go forth and scrap!!

CHALLENGE BY LAURIE

Good morning!! I hope you all had a great mother's day!! It was a beautiful sunny day here, so that was a plus!! My husband and I watch the food network all the time, and on Saturday we saw a recipe for stuffed french toast. So he went to the grocery store and bought all the ingredients and we made it on Mother's Day, quite yummy!!! You have to check out yesterday's post and read the poem Kelly wrote. She is AMAZING with poetry!

I made this card for a challenge over at http://magchallengebythepage.blogspot.com/. They have fun Cricut Cartridge challenges. This challenge was to use only images on Page 57 of Graphically Speaking. Since I had that cart I thought I would play along.

I ended up using three cuts from the page. The butterflies cut at an inch and shadowed, the word ENJOY cut at 3" and the little swirls are cut at 1.5". The brow and pink paper are core'dinations, and I sandpapered it to give it a rustic look.

I just realized after I put the picture up you can see the little German Shepherd statue to the left of the picture. We have a German Shepherd and Golden Retriever and my son has little statutes of them. I am laughing as I look at the picture. Oh well! Have a great day!!

3 MOTHERS DAY POEMS

Happy Happy mom's day to all the moms, sisters, aunts, daughters, step moms, grams! Happy Mothers Day to those mom's and special women that are not with us..but in our hearts forever. Carpe Diem!
I miss you mom,
My heart hurts still
It always will

Years pass by,
I cry through some

You were the perfect mom

I raise my kids,
You’re part of them

They remember you back when

Today you are honored,
We all still care

You were always.. always there

Your’re smile, your laugh,
I miss them much

I miss my mothers touch

Most of all,
My mom’s sweet kiss

But you said they’d be days like this

You are loved,
In every way

Happy happy Mothers Day

BRIGHT AND SPRING-ISH COLORS

Hello.. Here is another LOL from me from back when I first started scrapping. Apparently I only knew the "tearing" technique.. LOL. But, I ran with it sistah's!! I was looking through some of my old layouts because I'm trying to re-org some scrap stuff and as I was rolling my eyes at most, however, I came to this one and I actually thought it was pretty fun and bright and actually how easy peasy to put together a page just using the right bright colors.. tearing up a few things and adding a pic, two pieces of chipboard and title. Anyway, I thought I'd share. Of course now it would take me 15 minutes to put this together, but back in the day, this sucker probably took me 2 hours.. LOL.

MOTHER'S DAY CARD

Good morning, ok, now I that I know today is only Thursday, I am doing better. But having two Thursday's in one week can be very confusing! I whipped up a Mother's Day card for my absolute favorite Aunt. She might as well be by Mom. She lives in New Jersey, so I don't get to see her often, but we talk on the phone a lot and she is an awesome, awesome lady!
I have to say I scraplifted this idea from one of the cards I received in the last swap we did, it was a birthday card with a bunny on the front, so who ever did that one, thank you!!
I used Create a Critter for the flowers, layered them up and cut them at 1.75 and 2 inches. I used my glitter pen to glitter them up. The stem is a stamp from StampinUP! I think two step flower set. The twine, well let me tell you, I thought I had pink and white twine. I did not. So I used the lightest color I had, yellow and white, and ran my pink stamp pad all over it. I have to say not too bad!!
Fiskars border punch for the white strip across the middle. Celebrate with Flourish for the inside. Done! Ok, that makes it sounds like it took my 2 minutes to this. Since cards aren't my "thing", it took me probably 2 hours. I am always impressed with the ladies that put up a new card everyday!!!
And this is NOT how it started out in my mind.

Thanks for stopping by! I am exhausted from my cardmaking!

PHOTO ELF IS ON SALE - WOOHOO!!

Good morning everyone!! I woke up and thought it was Thursday. I think this is not going to be a a good day!! I received an email from PhotoElf, one our favorite faves, saying that PhotoElf is 50% off, you can download it for $20!!! Go on over and check them out, http://www.photoelf.com/.
Here is a page I did using PhotoElf. The pictures of my son playing soccer are a collage and I printed them out as one picture, so easy!!!! The smaller pictures are 2.2 and the bottom picture is 4 x 6.5.

Use a big piece of paper as the mat, and two embellishments, which are cut from the Sports Mania Cartridge.

I did a little doodling on the left side of the pictures and I was done.

AS PROMISED - CK MANCHESTER UPDATE

Good morning ladies!!! As promised here are some pictures from Saturday, we had sooo much fun and got to meet up with Karen from over at http://karens-kakes-krafts.blogspot.com/. It was so great to meet her, finally!! We had a class together and then grabbed lunch. We met her crafting friend Kim, who was super nice. The first picture is a picture of the classroom. I have to say this year, we definitely had more room to work on our projects. We sat in the back row, because we know how Kel can be and didn't want to be at the front of the class, laughing and getting in trouble (sorry Kel, just speaking the truth, lol).

Here is a packet from one of the classes we took from Quick Quotes!! We took two classes from QQ and they were awesome! Just look at the colors. Unfortunately, the classes are usual an hour and you can't finish the projects. As soon as we do finish we will post.

Here all are looking so studious!!!

In between classes we headed over the vendor fair and bought some fun things. By the end of the day, my bag was extremely heavy!!!

I have been on some blogs and saw that you have already received your E2!! Lucky ducks! Please let me know what you think about it. My delivery day is May 16th! That is going to take a long time to get here!!

WHERE'S THE BEACH?

It won't be long here in New England until we hit the beach. We had some great sunshine over the weekend and enjoyed some warmer weather, so it's comin' ! These are layouts I did, as they say, "back in the day" lol. This was probably one of my first 20 pages when I started scrapbooking and I tried to put all the techniques I knew at the time on one page.. LOL. I got inking, punching, photo corners, stamping, journaling and....wavy scissors.! I truly love the pics on this page of my kids. They love the beach, and, in these pictures....loving each other tooo.....awwwwwwwwww.
