VINYL CHALLENGE by CARRIE

Here is a GREAT idea and great Vinyl project from Carrie at DoubleClick Connections - AKA Abusybee Here is what she had to say:

"Our Town just started a recycling program! We are super excited! I ran out and purchased two new identical cans to fit in the kitchen. They looked great until this was all I heard... "Mom, which one is for recycle?" "Mom, did you say it's the right one or left one?" Etc Etc....So here was my solution! I used my Gypsy, letters from Wild Card and cut this out of vinyl! Now everyone knows which can is recycle!"

Challenge time - by Laurie

Good afternoon Ladies! I hope you are having a great Sunday! Here is a shocker, it is snowing again here in New England! Will it ever end???????
I decided to enter this page in a few challenges. I am trying to get better about the challenges, there are so many great ones out there.

This is the sketch over at http://getyoursketchon.blogspot.com/

This my take on it. I turned the sketch a bit to fit my pictures

Close up of the cuttlebugged frames.

Close up of the Tim Holtz Adage Tickets, Ideology collection. I also cuttlebugged this little guys, using the Divine Swirls folder

The other challenges I am entering these are as follows:
http://thepapervariety.blogspot.com/ - sew on the page. Faux stitching or real. I did both, I sewed the strips of paper and then faux stitch on the title.
http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com/ - use the word love, or a tool you love or someone you love. I love my two guys and actually used a love ticket.
http:/fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com - emboss on the page http://lindascreativity.blogspot.com/ - emboss on the page and use the cricut as well.
You will have to check out all these blogs, they have awesome challenges!!
What I used to make the page:
StampinUp! paper, the blue, Recollections Gemstone - the blue and green that are picture frames, Heritage Cart - Sons title - Cuttlebug folders - Heritage Collection (they have folders that match cricut cartridges, I love that), that was used from the frames, Divine Swirls for the ticket. And my Sew Easy Tool for the sewing.

VINYL CHALLENGE - by Susan

Susan said "I am new the blog and I love what I see. I just started working with vinyl and thought I would give your challenge a go. I hope you like it. I used the Paisley Cartridge for the buttons, cut at 2.5 inches I used the Don Juan Cartridge for the word "buttons". I used my design studio to get the size I wanted, because I was working with such a small surface. The tin is from the clearance section at Michael's, and it cost .25 cents!!"

I love this, it is so cute and looks so easy to do. Thanks for joining our challenge, boy you are quick!!

VINYL CHALLENGE TRIFLE BOWL

This is sent in by Kate at Small Bits of Paper She says: "I've seen a few trifle bowls fancied up with a bit of vinyl and decided to give it a go myself. My trifle bowl is from Pampered Chef. I cut Bon Appétit and some leaves from Ashlyn's Alphabet. I chose this cartridge as it has accents and I needed an accent aigu for the phrase. (I bought Ashlyn's Alphabet especially for the accents.) I had measured the bowl first and adjusted the letters to get a height with which I was happy."

Happy Valentine's Day!!!! A challenge is upon us!

Good morning (it is good morning in New England, no snow!!).
Here is a cute little Vday card I made for a challenge and then totally forgot to post for challenge. Not easy being me sometimes!
Kel and I have a fantastic sponsor for our new challenge. We have been working with Nick over at
http://www.craftvinyl.com/. Nick is an awesome guy and he is so very knowledgeable about vinyl. He is extremely helpful and his customer service is fantastic!! Nick has graciously offered the winner of our challenge 5 pieces of 12x24 vinyl in the colors of the winners choice. Once we announce the winner they can work with Nick directly to get the colors they want. How cool is that??

Ok, so here are some the rules:

1) You don't have to be a follower, but we would sure like it if you did.

2) You have to post your project on your blog with a link back to us.

3) Let your other vinyl using blog friends know about the challenge.

Kel and I will announce the actual challenge tomorrow, so get your vinyl caps on. No fret for those who don't use vinyl or are afraid, we will have a side challenge for that.
We have some awesome projects that Dawn made with vinyl to post for tomorrow!
Have a great day and stay tuned for details.................................

EASY PEASY RUB ON TOOL!

I'm sure your're thinking..hmm... rub on too.. big deal.. Well, this little guy is. I really do not like to use rub ons.. Well.. I USED to not like rub ons.. Now with this.. I do. As you can see, it's made by Basic Grey. It has one flat end and one rolling stylus end. It's so precise that you really do not have to start cutting up your rub on sheets.. there reallyis hardly and pressing involved, so you don't pick up all kinds of stuff you don't need on ur paper.

I even rubbed on over very glittery and bumpy paper and it just gliiiiided on! bad pic sorry.

After you roll it on with ease..you put your backing over it and swipe with the flat end.. Its sets it without breaking ur rub on into a billion pieces.. This baby is set for life

YA.. this excited over a tool.. LOL..
My Rubon-aphobia is GONE! Thank you Basic Grey!

PS: I also did some really pretty rubons on a piece of painted chipbaord..and..amazing!!

EASY PEASY TOOLS...ARE YOU A CIRCLE SEEKER?

Well look no more. Pick up the MS Large Circle cutter and get it done..and done quick. I walked by this tool a gazillion times and finally HSN got me hook..line and sinker with their demo. You can cut 4" to 12" and all those lil measurement in between quick and easy. 1. Slide the blade on the arm of cutter to what measurement you want and 2. place cutter on your paper and run the arm around once and your done!

I turned these two sheets of paper into a couple of 4" circles in about 2 minutes :)

Viola!

EASY PEASY TOOLS - and Kel's big win

Hello ladies! Kel and I were talking saying we don't use our tools enough, so we thought we would take some easy ones out to help remind us to use them and show some to you as well.

This is the We R Memory Keepers Sew easy stitch piercer. Let me tell you this is soo easy to use and really helps you sew on your projects.
These are the heads that came with it, it also comes with a mat and some thread. The heads are so easy to take on and off.

This is the head that I used to stitch this stitch on this page, and so easy. You just run the head on the paper where you want to stitch and then start sewing.

This is a close up of stitching I did on a card, this is the pink head.

Comes with all this thread, great colors!!!
I have to say this is one of the easiest tools I have used in a long time. It came with one sheet of instructions and I thought OMG I am going to need more than this, but not really! Fantab tool!

Kel won a challenge over at Frosted Design go on over and check it out. A big contrats to Kel, her card was amazing!!!

EASY PEASY TOOLS!

SORRY FOR INCONVENIENCE!
Good morning ladies..sorry about the weirdness of getting on the blog. Blogpoll wanted me to sign up for sumpthin and was blocking us.. Thanks to Dawn's investigation, I was able to fix it.. Thanks Dawn. Now onto the project.
You know how sometimes tools look so easy on tv or in the directions , you get it home and UGGG. Well this scor pad by Martha Stuart IS that easy. Here's what I did.. I whipped up a trifold card and envelope in less than 5 minutes.. I think it took me about 5 to decorate and Done.. woo hoo. Here's what I did.

1. LAID OUT MY PAPER.. SCORED TWICE AND FOLDED, PUNCHED EDGES

2. LAID OUT MY PAPER FOR ENVELOPE, SCORED, FOLDED AND GLUED.

I decorated my card the way I liked..not too fancy and I stamped my envelope.

I'm sure all our talented card makers have this down pat.. LOL. But to me.. it was a little card miracle to be so easy.. LOL. With a coupon, you could probably pick this up for about $10.00 Anybody else out there have any scor, folding or envlope ideas they want to share??

Welcome Sher at Patterns By Sher svg files Nice to have you!! Gals be sure to take a minute and go on over to check out Sher's adorable cards! My fav is the unicorn!

Dawn's Bday card

Here is a cute little card I made for Dawn for her birthday. There seems to be a few questions about who Dawn is. For those of you who don't know please read the sidebar.

I made this card using the Paisley Cartridge for the Owl (I do love her, she is so cute). Page 42 cut at 3.5 inches. I cut out all her little parts as well. I used the Branch cuttle bug folder on the black piece of paper. The stamp is from StampinUp! and I used the circle punch to punch it out. Some ribbon and buttons from my stash and done.

Close up of the ever so cute owl and her little bling wing!!
Have a wonderful crafty weekend!!!
