Fun With Alcohol Inks

Happy Wednesday and Happy Halloween!

I have been having some great fun with alcohol inks and dominoes lately. We had an altered domino swap a while back at Boston Area Scrap Fanatics and I really liked doing them. My mother in law was excellent at making them, so I had a lot of inspiration. There is a great tutorial over at The Enchanted Gallery to check out. And here is a video from Tim Holtz on them.

This is the one that I made for the swap. I used Ranger alcohol Inks in Lettuce and Stream, with some Ranger silver metallic mixative and applied them with the felt applicator tool. The rubber stamp was in my stash, so I don't know the manufacturer. I used Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp it and then dried it with my heat embossing tool. The charm was in my stash. The microbeads were adhered with Ranger Glossy Accents. I hot glued a bead from Michaels on the top to put the black cord through.

This next one was made to send to a friend who needed a little pick me up. I used Ranger Wild Plum and Butterscotch alcolhol inks with the gold metallic mixative this time. The leaf is from a SU! set and the gold flakes and shaped bling were in my stash. A smaller bead and frost cord finished it off.

Next up is to try alcohol inks on some acrylic tags, Timmy Holtz style. I can't wait to keep playing!

Yet Another Halloween Mini!

What a crazy couple of days it has been up here in the Northeast! Hopefully, Hurricane Sandy will be making her exit and all our friends are safe and dry!

Today, I have yet another Halloween mini to show you. (I told you that I love Halloween! LOL!) This one is for my mom and has pictures of the kids' costumes since the year my son was born to last year. The mini was cut from several Silhouette files. So fun and easy to put together!

Papers and embellies are a mix of Graphic 45 Happy Haunting and stuff from my stash.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

An Award!!!!

Good morning everyone!!  We want to thank our dear, dear friend Rhonda over at http://scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ for this awesome award!!  Rhonda has been a friend of ours since we started blogging. She is an amazingly talented woman and so giving!!

Of course with awards there comes rules, lol.

Include award logo in the blog post and thank the blogger who gave it to you & include a link back.

Answer 10 questions about yourself that you made up yourself (yeah, I know, kinda weird)

Nominate  bloggers for the award and contact them at their site to inform them.

Here are the questions:

1)  How many kids do I have?  Well.......I have two amazing sons and two fur babies (both are males, add my hubby and I live with 5 males, one would think I would be the queen, lol)

2) How long have I been married?  19 years and counting

3) Who got me into scrapbooking?  Dawn did, bad Dawn, lol!!  I thank Dawn for turning me on to an amazing hobby.

4) Where do I live?  Massachusetts (although I would really love to live somewhere warmer)

5) Why do I find making up questions so hard?  Its hard to talk/write about yourself.

6) What's my favorite sport?  Football.  My family and I watch football every Sunday, with snacks and everything.  I even decorated (with vinyl) a camping table with all Patriots stuff.  Perhaps this is why I am not the Queen.  And of course our High School Senior plays football so we love to go his games.

7) What kind of car do I drive?   Nissan Murano

8) How long have I know Kel?  Since our freshman year in High School.  It is so fun to have Kel and Dawn live on the same street as me.

9) My favorite holiday?  Thanksgiving - love spending time with my family

10) My favorite tool (right now)?  My punches.

We would like to give this award to:

Another Halloween Mini

Happy Friday, good readers! Here's to a wonderful weekend ahead of us!

Today, I am sharing the awesome Halloween mini that I got in a swap from our friend Rhonda over at Scrap Happens. We each had to make two pages and send them in to Rhonda. In return, we each got back an amazing Halloween mini! The pictures really don't do it justice. We can't believe all the work that Rhonda must have put into each one! I have already filled mine with pictures from last Halloween and it is sitting in our living room for all to enjoy. Thanks again, Rhonda, for the fun swap!

Hope everyone has a wicked weekend!!

Halloween Mini Altered Board Book

It's that time of year again!! I LOVE Halloween!! I have ever since I was a little kid. So, when the gals over at Boston Scrap Fanatics decided to do a Halloween mini swap, I was totally in. We each got paired up with another person. I know the person that I got loves vintage things, so I HAD to get the Graphic 45 Happy Haunting 8x8 stack and chipboard embellies for this project, even though I have a TON of Halloween stuff already. Just ask Laurie. We kind of went on a Halloween binge a couple of years ago and split the haul. Hee hee.

I started out with a plain white board book, like this one, but mine has 14 pages including the covers. I did mix in some other papers from my stash with the G45 papers. I tried to put some kind of interactive element on each page. I drew a lot of inspiration from the Halloween mini that I got from our friend Rhonda over at Scrap Happens. I need to take pictures of the album that she sent me, too - it is awesome!

This whole album took me a couple of weeks to complete because I could only work on it here and there. I hope my swap buddy likes it as much as I like creating it!

Twinchies????

Good Morning!!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!!  I wanted to show you some "twinchies" I did for a swap that I am in. I am not even sure what twinchies mean, but they are so darn cute.  My theme was winter and they have to be 2x2.  How cute are these?  I joined the swap over at http://www.crafthappens.net/  Kel turned me on to this super fun blog that has a ton of swaps and a bunch of talented folks!  You should go on over and check it out.

Thanks for stopping by.  On Wednesday I will show the AWESOME Halloween mini album that I got from my extremely talented friend Rhonda over at http://scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/  She just stared a new challenge blog as well, so go on over and check her out.

Happy Birthday Card Take 1...........

Good morning Everyone!!

Here is a card I made for our very close friend, Susan.  Susan, Kel and I are all the same age. I am the oldest of the three of us because my birthday is in May.  Susan always says on my birthday, you are older than me!  So I thought I would make a card with her age on it.  After all we are now the same age, lol.

My recipe:

Close to  Cocoa StampinUP! paper for the base
Tim Holtz Paper is the pink
Perfect Pearl Pen
Ribbon and Twine from my stash

I am sure she will get a kick out of this.
