Happy Leap Day!

I am in a card swap over at Boston Area Swap Fanatics called "Leap Into February". The theme of the cards was to make something with a Leap Day or leaping theme. This was quite a challenge! These are the two cards that I came up with. The first is one is in honor of Sadie Hawkins Day - February 29th. The postcard image is from the internet and the card itself was cut with the Cameo.

On the frog card, the sentiment is from the My Pink Stamper Punnylicious stamp set ("Hoppy Birthday!" - hahahahaha) and the frog was cut out with the Cameo. I used a 2" scallop punch for the, well, scallops! Everything else is from my stash.

I hope the girls enjoy them!

Tri-Fold (well more than tri).

Good morning - I tried my hand at the tri-fold card..  I made a birthday card for my friend at work.  I am quite pleased with how it came out.

I started with a 5 1/2 x 12 cardstock, of course StampinUP, close to cocoa.  all the pink papers that I used was Tim Holtz from the Ideaology stack.    I cut the the cupcake with my Cricut with one of my pre-loaded cartridges.   Most of the embellishment were from my stash.

White Space!!!

I have a fear of white space. I love how it looks, but I just can't seem to embrace it on my layouts and cards. So, when I saw this card in the Big Picture Classes 28 Cards in 4 Weeks class that I am taking, I knew I had to scrap-lift it to give to Laurie for the scrap-tastic presents she gave me for my birthday!

I started with plain cream cardstock and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs Distress ink.The sentiment is from SU!  I cut a small slit in the fold of the card and fed baker's twine through it twice, then tied it in the center. I cut the heart from some patterned paper, added the button to it and pop-dotted it off the card. I had the little clothespins in my stash forever; they are soooo cute! And that was it! My brain wanted to add more, but I embraced and walked away. I may conquer this white space fear, after all!

Yep, thats right, I said SPRING-ISH-LY, LOL

Here are some flowers I cut from the Create a Critter cartridge. I made these at 9" inches so I can write in the names and birth dates of the kids in my class on them. I realize it's odd to think flowers in New England in February, but we've had sort of spring-ish-ly type weather around here , so I thought I might as well start spring decorating! LOL. I did a lil flower and butterfly to post on my cirriculum board too.

FAMILY

Here is a layout I did using my favorite color combo. I really like red, black and white together. I like the different patterns in the papers and flowers of the same 3 colors too. I'm pretty sure that I cut the letters from the CM This and That Cartridge, and the paper flowers are CM too. I LOVE these paper flowers. They come in so many different sets. The colors are endless. I basically just adjusted them in a border type fashion and called it a day.

SO EASY EVEN A LEPRECHAUN CAN DO IT....

Here is a Step Fold Card I did for St. Patty's Day. It's easy peasy!

First choose a heavy duty cardstock for this. The card can get heavy. FIRST you CUT your CARDSTOCK 5 1/2 by 10 1/2

Then you SCORE your CARDSTOCK at 1 1/4 and 2 1/2 and 4 1/4 and 6 and 8 1/4.

Then you want to FOLD your card starting at the 5 1/2 end in a Mountain, Valley fashion. Which is a fancy way of saying Up, down, up down.. LOL

Then simply have fun decorating any way you choose!

CHASING WATERFALLS...

Here is a card I meant to post before Valentines day. I did it or my daughter. This is a waterfall card. It's name comes from the idea that when you pull the ribbon at the bottom, the small squares flip one over the other making it sort of flow. I will have to do a video tutorial on this to show how easy peasy it is to do and how fun for the recipient to get a "moving" card. I hope everybody has a great Friday!

WE MADE IT... SWEEEEET!

This was a fun day I spent with my family at a huge hay maze. I don't know if anybody has done these, but they can be quite intense. Some take hours to find a way out. Well, we almost did it in minutes. My husband is diabetic and all of a sudden his sugar starts to drop a bit about 20 mins. into the maze. So not too much of a big deal, he just needs a sweet. So, onward we go on the hunt for a staff member to guide us out. Well in the process of looking, turning corners, and taking path after path, we were just SO good at mazing, that within minutes we hit our first check point! We are like.... Whew, we are out of here! Well the kids get their little stickers for finding a check point... THEN we couldn't believe that the prize for hitting a check point was of all things.. A handful of CANDY!, lol. So, my hub had a few pieces and we were on our way. We spent about another hour or so in there and they paid a buck for a map that helps you cheat your way out. I give it to all the extreme mazers out there, its HARD!

So with that experience, I had to scrap this. Here is another LO I embellished with CM products The adorable fence border is done with the NEW CM BORDER MAKER SYSTEM. This thing is awesome. It's easy and they have great cartridges! I plan on getting mine soon and I will post al lthe deets for you. It's a MUST HAVE. The lettering was done by none other than the THIS AND THAT CM cartridge. I told you I fell in love.. LOL.

Spin Card

Happy Monday!! I can't believe another weekend gone by!  They go by so fast!!  I worked on this card for my  mother in law.  She was in town (actually the country, she is from El Salvador) for her birthday.

I decided to give the spin card a try. I saw it in the Scrapbooks Etc. magazine.  The instructions were ok, so I kind of had to wing it.   I am a perfectionist as well, so that made it harder!  My mother-in-law speaks Spanish, and I happened to get these Spanish stamps from a Noni sale (thank you Noni). And believe it or not the stamps are StampingUP!!  Abuela means Grandmother in Spanish.

The card was a great hit at the party.  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Friday!

January and February are full of birthdays around here. Here is an altered canvas that I made for a friend who is one of those birthdays. This is her pup, Juno and a sweet pup she is!

I started with painting the canvas with acrylic paints; added patterned paper from the DCWV Pets Stack, sanding the edges for texture; and then covered chipboard shapes with some other patterned paper from my stash and sanded those, too. The dog bone with the words around it was cut with the Cameo, using a file from the very talented Chirs Durnan at Visual Designs by Chris.
I wrapped it all up in a pretty organza ribbon and added some bling and a metal heart up in the corner. My friend did love it!

Hope everyone has a fab weekend!

Dog gone cute

Good morning everyone!   Our Pats lost, so we are a bit somber here in the Northeast!!  We will recover and be ok, lol!  I decided to join in a challenge over at ScrapFit., http://scrapfit.blogspot.com/, they have a very talented design team over there and some fun challenges. This challenge is to start with a blank canvas.  Using a white piece of cardstock as your starting point. I have to say I had a lot of fun with this one!!  I used my glimmer mist, and a few different colors as well!  I have a DCWV dog paper stack that a lot of the embellishments came from.  The clock is Tim Holtz.  This is our Golden Retriever, Lightning, sitting under the kitchen table, resting his head on the chair as he always does.  My son thought it would be fun to get down there with him.   Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!

Still going strong with the 12x12 baby boy album

Happy Wednesday. I can see Friday in the horizon!!  Here is yet another page out of the baby boy kit.  I love this idea, the mom can write 10 things she adores about her baby!!  So awesome to have the Mom's handwriting and her words written down forever. This page when together super quick too!!
