CANVAS

Here is a canvas I made for my dining room.  It is 12x6 I got the inspiration from the one that is pictured below.  I am not sure where it originated, I got it from Pinterest. This was as easy as Paint, cut, glue, modge podge.. LOL.  It was fun to do, the fun part is that its just all freehand cuts no machine needed

Here is where I got my inspiration :)

FUN FALL WREATH

I whipped up this little fall wreath just fooling around with the Gypsy.  I was looking for some fall things for my classroom.  Then I saw this wooden wreath in a pile of scrap stuff and decided to decorate it.  I put it in my front hall for now.

BREAKING DAWN CANVAS

Here is a canvas I did for a swap that I am in at CraftHappens.net.  This was a partner swap.  We  each did one for each other and mailed it off.  I hope she likes this.  I used acrylic paints on a 12x12 canvas. I added some flocked patterned papers from DCWV.  I added some T. Holtz brads and K&Co. bling.  The paper under the picture is tissue paper I Modge Podged to give it almost a wet look.  I used a set of texture brushed from Close To My Heart to "dab" some gold paint here and there. I added some "dripping blood" to the sides using my MS punch.  It's funny, we both chose the same quote from the movie without knowing.. LOL.

50th Male Birthday Card

Over the weekend, Dawn had a 50th birthday party for her hubby and Kel and went with our hubbies.   We had a great time, eating and talking and just relaxing!!

I made this card for Dawn's hubby, he has been fishing a lot this year, so I thought this was appropriate.
My recipe:

Child's Year Cartridge - Page 38, the little fishing guy with the pole, cut at 2 1/2" and shadowed.
Fiskar's Wave Border punch - used three different blues from my stash for the waves
Life's a Beach Cartridge - page 58
Cricut Keystone 1.50" for the number 50
Kraft paper

I hope he liked the card!!

Sweet Baby Boy Card ..........

We had a shower in work for one of the women I work with.  She is having a boy and his name is going to be Jake.  Kel made me the cutest side step card earlier in the year, I thought we should do this for this card.

Kel came over and it took us almost 3 hours to complete this card. The measuring, the cutting, the perfect placement (it was after all going to be viewed by many ladies, so we were seeking the perfect look).  We were very pleased with the results. We used Creative Memories Stork Cartridge.  Isn't that little monkey hanging just the cutest!!

Have a wonderful day!!

TAYLOR SWIFT CANVAS

Here is a fun canvas I did for a teacher leaving our school.  She absolutely LOVES Taylor Swift.  I used an 8x10 canvas.  I used a sponge brush with some acrylic paint and just went with the flow.  I used some tissue paper and torn paper in the upper right and lower left for texture and I used a stencil, (right of the flowers) to add some fun.  I added a few flowers, metal flowers, brads and bling to shine it up a bit.

PRIZE CHALLENGE...Taking a "new" look at CHIPBOARD & BUSY PAPER.............

On this page we decided to "let the paper do the work".  Kel brilliantly thought we should let the paper work as an embellishment too!  With the simple addition of chipboard let to this busy paper, this page layed out itself. I am sure we all have buckets of chipboard and never find the right piece of paper to adhere it too. But putting it on busy piece of paper, really lets the chipboard shine. The 4th July circle came from Dawn, so cute.

Check out last Sunday's post for the challenge and prize!

PRIZE CHALLENGE...Taking a "new" look at SWAP GOODIES......

Here is a card that we did using swap goodies from a Cricut cut swap we did at least a year ago, if not more.  We took a few minutes to look through these fantastic cuts and pulled out this cute flower from our friend, Rhonda over at http://bumblcreate.blogspot.com/.  Kel brought over her Three Bird Scrap Stack and we pulled the green paper from that, matched perfect. Here is our creation.

Please remember to take a peek at Sunday's post with the challenge details!

Taking a new look at our stash of PAPER.....

Here is a page I did of my son when he was 2, he is now 12!  I pulled out my Focus of Photo's Stack from 3 Birds that I bought from HSN about 3 years ago and I had to have!  I loved this stack and never used it. It has a 5x7 Photo mat stack and a 12x12 matching stack.

"New look at something that is old" week

Kel and I got together over the weekend to scrap.  We decided to pull out some of our "old" scrap stuff and look at it in a "new" way. We challenge you to do the same.  This is a prize challenge!!  To enter the challenge  please post a tip, photo, project or comment on how you have looked at something that you may have stashed away; ie: a dress which is still hanging in your closet, a book that is sitting on your night stand with only three pages read or a paperstack you had to have that you still haven't cracked open.  We ask that you post this on your blog and let us know when you post it, so we can enter you in the challenge.  We are looking forward to seeing your entry!

The prize we have is a gently used Cricut Cartridge. When we say gently used, we mean no more than twice, lol. When looking through our stuff we realized that we both have, "Stretch Your Imagination" and "Plantin Schoolbook" and we have an extra one of each. We would love to see them put to good use.  We hope you enjoy the week. See you Monday for a fun week!!

Next week is Recycling week!

Kel and I were talking about how much "stuff" we have that we don't use.  We challenged ourselves to use products that we had to have, but that we haven't used in a long, long time.  This little guy is from a cartridge I got from Dawn, Mini Monster's, that I haven't used ever!!!

Kelly's hubby had surgery on his eye today, so I had to whip this up for him. I love the little patch.I knew he would be coming home with a patch and he has such a great sense of humor, I knew he would like it.  The paper is from WR Memory Keepers, Nonsense (a stack I had to have, that I haven't used in a long, long time).

Tune in next week for Recycling week and see what fun projects we have and a "recycled" prize!!

Have a great weekend!!!
