Happy Mother's Day!

This is an altered canvas that I made for my mom. She loves tigers, so when I saw this pic on FB, I knew I had to use it for her. After using gesso on the canvas, I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists to color the background. The title is a Silhouette studio file cut with the Cameo. MOM is embossed with the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder. I got the leaves and cute paw print ribbon at AC Moore.

We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day 2013!

More Birthday Fun

I made this birthday card and altered Altoid tin gift card holder for Laurie's little guy who turned 13 last week. They grow up too fast!

Card: So cute and so easy to make!

Hippo and balloons: Silhouette cut files (the balloons are pop-dotted)
Cuttlebug folders: Spots n Dots and Divine Swirls
13 letter stickers: stash
"Hippo Birthday" stamp: My Pink Stamper

Tin: Also so easy and the perfect size to hold a gift card! I covered the inside cover and bottom with paper, too. The paper and chipboard stickers were in my stash. (The stickers maybe MAMBI?)

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Christmas Card

Good morning, as promised here is my card I made for the swap. The cards should be fairly easy as we have to make 12 in one night.

I started with Kraft Paper (the brown), inked that up. Added the red after I ran it through the snowflake cuttlebug folder. The green paper is Core'dinations, sanded down a bit to add texture.

The white strip of Xmas trees was from my stash. I cut out an xmas tree from Create a Critter and a little bakers twin e and done!! So easy!! I am dying to see what the other ladies make. We will be sure to show them to you when do them. We are going on November 10th.

Had a great time last night a Dawn's house stayed over there until 1:00 am! Time flies when you are scrapping!! I am entering this card in a challenge at our good friend Janet's blog
http://ladyluvbug.blogspot.com/ So you can do a card or layout it has to be Birthday or Anniversary and has to have fall colors. The prize is a stamp set from Ms. Emma! Love, love her stamps. I used her stamp on this card.

I made this card for my older brother, his birthday is next month. Everything is from my stash!! I love using my stash!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!! I will most likely be on tomorrow to show you another challenge I entered!! I really need that scrap therapy last night!!

PASTEL WEEK - day 2

Here is my take on the pastel weeks. This is a picture of my almost 16 year son, who is 5"10!! Freaks me out he was so little. When he was little, he was in Kelly's daycare, and this picture was taken by Kel while he was with her. It was a great feeling knowing my son was well taken care of and loved!!! For this I started with StampinUP cardstock and used a 2" square punch for all the squares. The paper is DCWV Nana's kids, they are pastel yellows, blues and greens.
Here is a close up of the title, I layered it in blue and then ran it through the cuttlebug, swiss dots. I think I cut this from George and the Base Shapes. I cute the parenthesis using Core'dinations paper, and I sand papered that and inked as well.

Challenge time - by Laurie

Good afternoon Ladies! I hope you are having a great Sunday! Here is a shocker, it is snowing again here in New England! Will it ever end???????
I decided to enter this page in a few challenges. I am trying to get better about the challenges, there are so many great ones out there.

This is the sketch over at http://getyoursketchon.blogspot.com/

This my take on it. I turned the sketch a bit to fit my pictures

Close up of the cuttlebugged frames.

Close up of the Tim Holtz Adage Tickets, Ideology collection. I also cuttlebugged this little guys, using the Divine Swirls folder

The other challenges I am entering these are as follows:
http://thepapervariety.blogspot.com/ - sew on the page. Faux stitching or real. I did both, I sewed the strips of paper and then faux stitch on the title.
http://scrapourstash.blogspot.com/ - use the word love, or a tool you love or someone you love. I love my two guys and actually used a love ticket.
http:/fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com - emboss on the page http://lindascreativity.blogspot.com/ - emboss on the page and use the cricut as well.
You will have to check out all these blogs, they have awesome challenges!!
What I used to make the page:
StampinUp! paper, the blue, Recollections Gemstone - the blue and green that are picture frames, Heritage Cart - Sons title - Cuttlebug folders - Heritage Collection (they have folders that match cricut cartridges, I love that), that was used from the frames, Divine Swirls for the ticket. And my Sew Easy Tool for the sewing.

12x12 Layout by KEL

Here's a page that I put together at the crop I went to on Saturday! We had so much fun and a lots of laughs. This lo is pretty simple. I used a white bazzil border strip on the left page. I stamped it and ran ribbon through.! I punched the edge of the picture mat with a MS pointsetta PAP punch. I embossed and sanded the strip under the pics on the right page using Laurie's 12" cuttlebug plate..I forget the name sorry. I'm pretty sure that the papers I used are Cloud 9.

CUTTLEBUG WEEK 2, Day 5

Here is a LO I did of my son and his orchestra teacher and friends the last concert at high school. The papers are from my stash, Paisley stickers are Heidi Grace, The lil banner papers are MS. I'm going to journal on them. I used Devine swirls for tag. I first inked them with Tahiti Chalking Inks from Quick Quotes, Me and Laurie can't LIVE without these Powder Puff challking inks. they are the best. I chalked the inside TOP of folder and ran through CB. I edged the entire page in Marachino Cherry QQ inks. The brown strip is cuttlebugged with a diamond folder from CB. I added some buttons and twine from stash and there ya have it. I used a Becky Higgins Page Map for the idea for the layout.

CUTTLEBUG Week 2, Day 4

Sorry bout the late post.. I had an appointment that kept me longer than it should. Anyway, here goes. I loved this pic of my daughter and her friend. I was supprised I got such a good action shot, I'm not a very good picture taker person.. LOL. Anyhow, onto the good stuff. I used DCWV for all papers cept yellow is from stash. I used the Vacation Cartridge for tickets and roller coaster. Stickers are from stash. I used the forest branches cb folder for roller coaster and the sizzix diamond for the yellow strip down the left. I glittered up a few spots and there ya have it! I used PhotoElf to crop my photos. I love this program. It is extremely user friendly and me and Laurie have used it for quite some time and wouldn't scrap without it. I am going to see if I can find some lil riding cart stickers or something on a cricut cart somethwere to put on my lil roller coaster I think to bring it more to life.. Any other suggestions for my coaster??

CUTTLEBLUG WEEK - Week 2 - Day 3

We are back to Cuttlebug week. I wanted to share a card I made with new paper that I had to have and have been dying to use. I bought two kits from My Minds Eye - Holly Jolly and I Believe. The kits had paper, cut outs, ribbon and brads (all matching of course). I also wanted to use the cuttlebug on the card. My thought was to use the cuttlebug on patterned paper, because I NEVER do that. So here is the finished product. The stamp is from StampinUP! Sparkling Season. I added some bling for the top of the tree and glitter pen throughout.

These adorable tickets came in the Holly Jolly kit. The paper is from the I Believe kit.

Snowflake folder was used on the blue patterned paper. The Christmas tree was cut from Christmas Cheer cartidge at 3 1/4" layered and shadowed and a few pop dots to make it pop.

CRAZY CUTTLEBUG WEEK 2 - Day 1

Goood morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend!! Kel and I had so much fun using our cutttlebugs we thought we could continue the theme. We did this layout strictly from A Child's Year, page 62. Everything on this page is cuttlebugged (is that word?). The letters, the bubbles, the mat, the ducks and the bathtub. On the bathtub we used one of the really small folders (it looks like a wave) and then used a q-tip to ink it.

We cuttlebugged the bubbles, inked the edges and then glitter them with a glitter pen. So cute!

Swiss dots on the ducks add some great texture.
We figured everyone has a picture of some little baby in a tub, what a perfect layout.
I am counting on Ms. Jen to let us know what the folders are!! LOL

CUTTLEBUG CRAZY, Day 5

Close up of folder.
Here is card from my sister-in-law Maureen. She has got some beautiful card talent! I've seen a lot of her stuff in person when she's brought them down this way to visit from Illinios. This is what she had to say about this card. The purple flowers are from who else but Martha Stewart at Michael's The stamp is from Stampin' Up I used a Cuttlebug embosser folder, Textile Texture, on the black stock paper."

CUTTLEBUG CRAZY, Day 3

Here is a layout I did at a recent crop. I love to cuttlebug my title letters.. Just love how it looks. I cut them out, these are from CM, Cheerful seasons, I then put them into the Xyron to sticky them up.. lol then before I pull them off to stick on page, I run the whole slip of letters through he cuttlebug, then I peel and stick! I used the dots from the Sizzix dots and flowers 2 pk embossing folders. I have to say that Sizzix does do a deaper emboss. Sometimes thats a goodie, and sometimes you don't want as deep as an impression on things, so you might want to take it into consideration. I used the tree branches cuttlebug folder for the mat under the smaller pics. I know you can't see much of it, but I do like it around the pics as a border.

CUTTLEBUG CRAZY, DAY 2

Well, let me tell you, Laurie and I were laughing SO hard when we came up with this sentiment. Actually, Laurie came up with it. LOL. She didnt' just luv this cocoa mug
so so much..she loved it COCOA much!! LOL. Ok, on with the show. The papers we used were from an old DCWV mat stack. The cocoa mugs come from the CM Seasons cartridge. We cut one and then used the "flip" option on the cricut. We cuttlebugged the cream layer of the mugs with Divine Swirls and the side was done with an edger folder in which we dont know the name for. We rounded off the card with typing sentiment on velum as well as the recipe on the insde. We added some peachy keen stamps to give the mugs their little faces and a few bling stickers and twine and we were good to go! Thanks for stopping by, that was COCOA nice of you! LOL

WELCOME FOLLOWERS and BORDER IDEAS

These were fun. They are the Wishful Borders Collection from Creative Memories I got them as a free gift from my consultant at a recent crop. I love the colors and the ease of getting a border together in a matter of a minute. I added the lettering and I inked edges and sent a few things through the cuttlebug for texture. I even made one journal block with the set too. You can leave plain, add more, add less, the choice is yours! You get an instruction sheet along with set if you need inspiration But weither it's CM or your own creation, have fun making some borders and send them this way if you do!
