Photo Tile Coasters

These were easy and fun to make for a friend of mine. I got the tumbler tiles at Home Depot for about $4 for a pack of 8. They are just shy of 4" x 4". I printed the pics out at 3.5" x 3.5" after creating an edge on them in Photoshop Elements. I put a rub-on word on each of them, attached them to the tiles (after dusting them off) with a thin layer of Mod Podge and then applied 3 coats of Mod Podge (matte finish) to each, letting each layer dry before adding the next. I cut squares of cork for the bottoms to protect surfaces that they are on because they are very rough and heavy. They still need to be sprayed with 3-5 coats of acrylic sealer to make them completely water proof. How cute is my friend's baby grand-daughter?!?

Have a fabulous weekend!

One more Christmas Card

OK, one more Christmas card to show you! I made this  from this Silhouette file, but changed up a couple of things. I liked the bows at the top of the wreaths, rather than on the bottom and I like using some contrasting patterned papers for the door panels, rather than having them all the same. The papers are from G45's Christmas Past stack (love them!). I cuttlebugged the wreaths with my Swiss Dots folder to give them some texture. The pretty little heart brads were in my stash. All the door panels are pop-dotted for dimension  Once cut, this was pretty easy to put together.

Have a happy Thursday!

Boss' Gift

We hope everyone had a peaceful, joyful Christmas and that you got to spend some time with loved ones! My boss and his family went to Switzerland over the summer with his family. When he sent me a picture of his son with the Alps in the background, I knew right then and there that I was going to use it for his Christmas gift. I had the picture made into a gallery wrap at mpix.com. If you haven't used them for printing your images, give them a try. I promise you won't be disappointed. After much deliberation (mostly between my husband and I since he liked the picture as is), I pop-dotted a quote from Dr. Seuss' "The Places You'll Go" to make it more personal. You know us scrappers - we have to alter everything! And that was it! He loved it. :)

Christmas Configurations Box

Happy Christmas Eve to all! This is my first attempt at at Tim Holtz configurations box. I made it for my mom. I am not great at dimensional stuff, but I think she will like it. It wasn't as easy as Tim makes it look in his videos, but it was fun. Just about everything in it is a Tim Holtz product, with some AC Moore mini tree decorations in there, too.

We wish all our wonderful followers a blessed and wonderful Christmas!!

Happy Hollydays Card

Hi, gang! Only 5 more sleeps! (Can you tell I have little people in my house counting down?) Here is this year's Christmas card that I am sending out. I have to make 120 of these each year, so I try to keep the design simple. Or so I thought ... I figured out that I touched each card 13 times in making them, not counting putting them in envelopes and addressing them!

1 - cut the snowflake out of the white paper with the Cameo
2 - stamp the sentiment on the white paper under the snowflake
3 - use glitter pen on the berries on the sentiment
4 - cuttlebug the white paper using the snowflakes folder
5 - edge the white paper with green ink
6 - cut the patterned paper for behind the snowflake
7 - attach the patterned paper behind the snowflake
8 - cut the red cardstock to mount the white paper on
9 - mount the white paper on the red cardstock
10 - cut kraft paper into A2 size cards
11 - mount the red paper with the snowflake onto the front of each card
12 - stamp sentiment into the inside of each card
13 - sign each card

So much for keeping it simple, huh? LOL!
We hope you are having a beautiful holiday season and can't wait to see some of your own creations on your blogs! See you tomorrow!

Pocket Birthday Card

Happy Wednesday, all! Only 6 more sleeps till the big day! I had to take a break from making Christmas cards to make a quick birthday card for my friend, Judy over at Pieces of Me Scrapbooking. I used this file from the Silhouette online store and G45's The Magic of Oz papers. The ribbon, brad and circle sentiment were in my stash. It was a fun and easy card to make. I usually complain about double sided papers (as Laurie and Kel can tell you!), but you really need them for this kind of card. *sigh* I guess I will just have to start buying more double sided patterned paper to play with!

I finally finished up my Christmas cards last night! I will share tomorrow. hopefully. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Christmas cards for my BFF's...............

Friday has arrived!! Woohoo and I have a few days off from work. I plan to get all my Christmas shopping done and wrapped by Monday after.  I will let you know if I was successful!!

Here is the card I made for my three besties and their families.  All three are crafters so I had to put my thinking cap on.

I thought a cute Christmas scene would be cute.

I used Christmas Cheer to cut the fireplace, the tree and the stockings. I personalized the stockings with their kids initials.

The garland on the tree was stickles.  I am usual not a fan of stickles, but I though they were perfect for what I needed them for. The decorations on the tree are epoxies stickers, I just love them.  I used all papers from my stash.

Have a great weekend and hope your Christmas stuff is under control!!

More Christmas, sparkly..........

Good morning Everyone!!  I hope everyone is having a great week. Its official, all my cards in the mail!! Woohoo!! Feels so good to have that off my plate.

Here is a "snow globe" card I made. I made about 8 of these.

My recipe:

Christmas Cheer Cart - The snow globe cut at 3.25" and layered
I broke out my nestabilities (everyone seems to be using them, I thought I better join in), they are the rectangluar scalloped ones. I used the middle two for the blue layers.

StampinUP Ribbon and of course StampinUp! Stamp and I sparkled it up with my sparkly pen.

I added the glittery dots that I had from my stash and realized after I took the picture I am missing one. I never found it!!

I am going to enter this card over at http://www.creativecutterroom.com/.  The challenge is to make a Christmas Project not using red or green.

Thanks for stopping by!

Quick and Easy Christmas Card

Happy Monday, good followers! Only 15 more sleeps! My 2 littles can hardly stand the wait. Meanwhile, I am wishing for more time since I am so behind the 8-ball this year! This card that I made for my boss, however, whipped up quickly and easily. I used this card file from the Silhouette online store. I added a stamped sentiment, a pretty red ribbon and a BG brad. The snowflake is Cuttlebugged with Swiss Dots. Simple and not too frilly for a guy!

Hope that you are all having a festive and low-stress holiday season so far! Make it a great week!

And Christmas Continues

We are very busy in the scrapcave making our cards, lol!  I take NO credit for this card. Kel found the template on Pintrest and showed it to me, I fell in love and had to make some.  I am sure Kel will show hers off as well. It amazing how different the card can look with just changing up the papers.  I love the elegant feel.

The recipe:
Christmas Cheer Cartridge- page 91 for the Christmas Tree, cut at 4".
Recollection Glitzy Glitter for the patterned paper
Recollections Joyful Christmas paper pack for the paper on the tree
Ribbons and Rosettes Cartridge page 56 - cute at 1"x11" (this cartridge is awesome), for the tree layers.
Ribbon on the top from my stash (thanks Noni)

Black cardstock for the base of the card, white for the first layer and green for the second layer.

Kel came up with an easy idea, instead of using a punch for the layers on the tree, let the Cricut do the work for us. The Ribbons and Rosettes Cart cuts out a strip of 1x11 so we just lined it up on the tree and cut it to fit.  It took about 3 strips, not too bad.

Thanks for stopping by. If you need more detailed directions feel free to ask, we are happy to email them to you.

More Christmas....

Hello Everyone. I hope the week is off to a good start!  Here are two more cards I am working on.  I made about 15 of these. I decided this year I wasn't going to make the same card for everyone.  I get bored after about 10, so I wanted to mix it up a bit.

The first picture is a my messy table!!

I used Recollections Red paper for the base of the card and Recollections Bright Christmas Paper is the patterned paper.  Merry Christmas is from my Creative Time Stamps along with the little tag die cut.  Ribbon from my stash and its done!

Birthday Fun With Vinyl

So, today is my brother's birthday. I always struggle with what to get/make for him, but not this year! Back story: At a cookout at my brother's house this past summer, he and my 7 year old son were dancing outside of his chicken coop singing (to the tune of the theme song for "Water Country"), "Chicken Country, Chicken Country, Chicken Country ... Lay some eggs!" Thus, the sign for his coop!

I got the fantastic shabby chic frame off of Amazon.com. Knowing that this sign would go outdoors, I got some gloss outdoor vinyl from CraftVinyl.com. All the cuts came from the Silhouette Online Store. I used Cricut transfer tape to line up each layer and that was it! It was so easy to do and I am very pleased with how it turned out. Hopefully, my brother (and the chickens) will like it, too!

Have a fantastic day!

Holiday Tag Swap

There is a holiday tag swap going on over at Boston Area Scrap Fanatics that I am in. The work that these ladies do is incredible, so I am very much looking forward to seeing what they create. I decided to do mine in Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas style.

Each one will have some slight variations, but this is basically it. I cut the tag with the Cameo from glossy paper and used alcohol inks and glimmer mist to color it. I had the stamp in my stash and used Stazon to stamp it. The small glass tag is a Tim Holtz acrylic fragment with a G45 image attached to the back with Glossy Accents. The micro beads are also held on with Glossy Accents. The snowflake is Maya Road chipboard painted with acrylic paint and then I used a glitter snow pen on top of it when it dried. The brad is Basic Grey, I think. The fibers are also Basic Grey; the crinkly ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam; the little ornament was from the Christmas section at ACM. I hope everyone will like them!

Senior Day (so sad for the Mom)

This past Saturday was Senior Day at my son's football game.  It was his last home game!  He has put is heart and sole into this sport so it was a bittersweet day.  I was able to sneak a picture of his shirt and I wanted to do a page of just his shirt.  This is what I came up.

Pretty Pennants for the pennant across the top. I decided to put eyelets in the pennants to help hold the string.  I did mange to rip a few, but I covered them up with mono.

The base paper is that chalkboard paper and the yellow around the picture is chalk.  Although it rubs off, so I am not sure why its called chalkboard paper.

The rest of the things are from my stash.

Good morning.  How awesome is this card that Kelly made!  I love, love the pumpkin!  Its so crazy that we both used Designer Calendar for the sentiment. I guess great minds think alike!!

Kelly said:

"The papers for pumpkin and card are Serenity DCWV. I sanded the papers, to give it "that" look.. LOL "

Snow much fun

Happy Friday!!  I hope all our blogging friends in the Northeast are safe!  I have family in NJ and they are still without power.  Everyone is our prayers.

I came across the super cute snowman card on Pintrest and had to give it a go.  Kel came over and helped me with the dimensions (measuring is NOT my strong point).

Here is the recipe:

Accent Essentials Cart - Circles cut at 2 1/2 and 3 1/2
Snow Friends - Carrot, eyes, mouth and little stick arms
Divine Swirls Cuttlebug Folder

We took a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper and cut it half and then used my MS circle cutter to make the base circle.

Some sparkly pen throughout the divine swirls and I have a StampinUP! Stamp that says I hope your holidays sparkle with joy.  I will stamp that inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great weekend!!!
