TIME OUT - This is a challenge I did.

Good evening ladies. I did this page for two challenges. I never participate in challenges, and decided I needed to get busy.
One is use the Sports Mania Cartidge, that I just bought, I was so excited to use it.
The other was sports theme. This is my son playing football for high school.
One of the challenge was:
frosteddesigns.blogspot.com this was was use your die cuts
The other was for Throwback Thursday and it was Sports challenge.

CUTTLEBUG CRAZY, Day 3

Here is a layout I did at a recent crop. I love to cuttlebug my title letters.. Just love how it looks. I cut them out, these are from CM, Cheerful seasons, I then put them into the Xyron to sticky them up.. lol then before I pull them off to stick on page, I run the whole slip of letters through he cuttlebug, then I peel and stick! I used the dots from the Sizzix dots and flowers 2 pk embossing folders. I have to say that Sizzix does do a deaper emboss. Sometimes thats a goodie, and sometimes you don't want as deep as an impression on things, so you might want to take it into consideration. I used the tree branches cuttlebug folder for the mat under the smaller pics. I know you can't see much of it, but I do like it around the pics as a border.

News Flash - Swap news

Good morning!

I hope everyone one is having a great morning. Kel and I wanted to let you know that the Holiday Card and Tag Swap was mailed out yesterday!! I have to say you ladies really out did yourselves. The cards and tags are amazing. I think you will all be quite pleased!!!

Kel and I do apologize for getting them out so late, there were some technical difficulties, we finally got those squared away.

CUTTLEBUG CRAZY, DAY 2

Well, let me tell you, Laurie and I were laughing SO hard when we came up with this sentiment. Actually, Laurie came up with it. LOL. She didnt' just luv this cocoa mug
so so much..she loved it COCOA much!! LOL. Ok, on with the show. The papers we used were from an old DCWV mat stack. The cocoa mugs come from the CM Seasons cartridge. We cut one and then used the "flip" option on the cricut. We cuttlebugged the cream layer of the mugs with Divine Swirls and the side was done with an edger folder in which we dont know the name for. We rounded off the card with typing sentiment on velum as well as the recipe on the insde. We added some peachy keen stamps to give the mugs their little faces and a few bling stickers and twine and we were good to go! Thanks for stopping by, that was COCOA nice of you! LOL

CRAZY CUTTLEBUG WEEK - DAY ONE

Welcome Monday! I am trying to wake myself up and be cheerful at the same time!! Kel came up with the great idea of pulling out our cuttlebugs and getting busy. Since I haven't used mine in so long I thought great idea!

Kel and I got together Friday night thinking that we would get all the posts done for the week, the theory was great, but it didn't really happen. We spent more time talking and laughing!! We did manage to came up with this cute halloween page. The green scallops are nestabilites.

Here is a close up of the birdcage folder. Love, love this folder. Kelly brought over some great coordinations paper, it is black with an orange core! Perfect for the antique bird cage look. This folder is the 12" border folder. We bought the larger 6x12 plates and we are so glad they did, perfect for this page!

Here is an owl cut at 4" inches from Happy Hauntings, (I love this guy).
Cuttle bug folders used on Mr. Owl were:
Forest branches for the branch
Diamond one for the entire owl
Swiss dots for the belly
(I am sorry, I don't know the "official" names of the folders, I wish they would put them on the folders.)
Don't forget the more comments this week, the better your chances are for the prize!!!

FRAME WEEK DAY 5

Good Morning fantab followers!! I am so glad its' Friday. I am looking forward to getting some scrapping done this weekend. We shall see, I always say that, then life gets in the way!
A big shout out to Dawn for sending over these frames. I love them both!!
Dawn said: The flower frame was cut on the Silhoutte. The colors are her daughters favorite colors! The yellow layer is patterned paper the shadow layer is teal. The patterned paper ripped in a few spots, so cleverly Dawn put some cute flowers on the rips! Brilliant!! Dawn will be using this frame for her halloween page of her daughter's costume, she is going to be a hippie!! I think a perfect fit!!

Frame number two, also adorable was cut on the Cricut. Dawn used the Camp Out Cartidge, it was cut at 5.5 with shadow and the bears (I just love them) were cut at 1.5 with shadow. The frame was inked in Color Box Chalk in Bisque. Dawn and her family LOVE to camp so this frame will get good use on one of her many camping pages.

Thanks so much Dawn, for sending. I have to say I can't pick a favorite here, I love them both.

Go forth and scrap everyone! Make it great day!!

FUN FRAME WEEK, Day 4

Here is a cute lil card for a girls bday. This sweet gal's name is "Chelsea" she is from Greetings Farm. All equiped with her lil IPOD and everything..she's so dang cute. LOL Anyway, I framed her in a cute lil frame from the Don Juan cartridge. I put the frame and the frame background through the cuttlebug. I'm not sure of plate name, but it has squares similar to the frame square running through it. I colored lil miss Chelsea in with glittery gel pens to giver he some spunk. I'm just a lover of glittery gel pens, and spunk apparently...lol. I grabbed the HB stamp from some drawer... I believe it to be a cheapy becuz it really didn't stamp as nice as I wanted. Uh, ya learn! lol I stuck the paper flower in her hair for added cuteness. It is a paper flower from Creative Memories.. I'm a lover of these paper flowers too!

FRAME WEEK, Day 3

Here is a frame that I got from Happy Hauntings. It's one frame maniuplated two different ways with my Gypsy. The little creatures are stickers from my stash. The green is Core Coordinations, it's already sparkly..cool.

I used co'ordinations paper I got 5 for $`at JFabs for the frames. Black on one side and a cool orange color for core. The inside of frame shows core. I sanded the frames and really like the results. I wanted to have this page complete with pics on it and everything, but the more I tried to get the results I wanted, the worse the project got.. LOL. So, I just figured to take a pic of the two frames, toss on a few stickers and call it a day. Momma told me there'd be scrap days like these!! LOL. I may attempt to finish this page tonight.. Geesh, it looks GREAT in my head.. LOL. Just can't get it on paper today ladies!

FUN WITH FRAMES, Day 2

This was a project I did for my other blog Crafty Twilight Mom I did the frames with the Home Decor Cartridge. I used double sided black and white paper, so it was easy coordination. The red paper is from my stash too, but I know its Co'ordinations, I just don't know from which stack. I tore and sanded it. Me and Laurie have had fun searching for frames on the different cricut cartridges. They are great for layouts in lieu of mats, to put around a sentiment on a card and to cutsom make an inside photo mat in a glass frame! We really like the 10 frames on the Happy Hauntings cartridge and between us I think we cut them all. I have two to show tomorrow. We thought we'd give some great cuts and great frame cuts from the HH cart. to one of you guys/gals So, keep commenting for more chances to win. We will pick a winner this weekend. The more, the merrier. Say you comment M, T and W,, u got ur name in the hat 3 times. Comment, Friday, you got one. You get the idea :) Have fun exploring uses for frames and we'll see you soon!.

FUN FRAME WEEK - Day 1

Good morning Ladies and Gents!! Kel and I decided we would play around with frames this week on our carts. I first had to share a picture of my Dad learning how to use his new Cricut!! As many of our followers know my Dad is card maker/scrapbooker, doll house builder. He is a crafty guy. This is my kitchen table and my cricut and his cricut on the table. I was teaching him how to use the Cricut. He did well!

So on to the frames, the two frames I printed out were from Happy Hauntings. I cut this one at 10" and it is on Page 40. I am going to use this on a Halloween page for this year. I do love it and has a cut bat on the top and bottom.

This one is super cute and I cut it at 4" and it is on page 33, and the layered pumpkins I cut in orange.

I am not a huge fan of Halloween, but after playing around with the cartridge I want to go out and take some Halloween pictures so I can use it!

Make it a great day!!

EXPLORING CRICUT CARTRIDGES - DAY 5

Ok as promised here is the layout I did. I used three different cartridges on this page. So the number 5 is from A Childs's Year, page 5 cut at 3" and I hit the Monogram button. The paper is from a StampinUP! designer pack, I don't remember which one, but I do love it.

The "5" border on the bottom of this page is cut from Graphically Speaking cut at 6" and I had the "Fit to page" button on. I wanted it make it a border. I have to say, I scraplifted the border idea from Dawn, she did it on a page for her son's birthday. I love it.

This super cute backpack is cut @ 2" from Doodle Charms, page 119. I finally purchased some Peachy Keen stamps and have been dying to use them. So I gave the backback a face. So cute, brings the backpack to life, (LOL, scrap nerd as Kel would say).

The two people reading is cut from Graphically Speaking, page 51, cut @ 2", I used the Icon Black out and cut the regular cut as well. I used some paper that looked like newspaper. I think it came out soo cute.

FIRST OFFICAL BIZ THEN FUN

Good morning Ladies!!!

It is Friday (thank goodness, that in my mind means scrapping is so very close!!). We wanted to take care of some business then we will post something a little later on.

First up - A BIG welcome goes out to our two new followers, first we have Pjritsema and secondly we have wandwandco. Welcome, welcome, welcome. We didn't see that you had a blog, if you do please let us know and we will be sure to direct the folks over to you. Thanks so very much for stopping by. We hope we like what you see!! We love to "scrap it forward" here, so anything you want to share, please let us know.

Secondly as you know the swap is just about winding down. I have received two swaps already, and let me tell you, they are AMAZING!!!! I am not surprised as we have really talented people, but I think these two gals have out done themselves!! If you don't have my address to send the swap to, please email me at lbaires@comcast.net. We can't wait to see them. Deadline is October 17th. Don't forget to enclose your self addressed stamped envelope so you can get your swaps back!!

EXPLORING CRICUT CARTRIDGES, Day 4

Here is a fun layout I did and think I overdid it.. LOL I was like a mad scientist "evil laugh included" when I was doing this page. LOL. I just couldn't stop adding things! Muahhahhahhahaaa!. I used just about everything.. Lemme see if I can break it down. The lettering is from the new CM cartridge, If ya can swing it,, GET THIS.. it's a goodie!! I think the butterflies are from grafically speaking??. The clock is from Heidi Swapp, the papers are from my stash. the lil blue stamped flowers in the corner are SU! I used two punches on this , a corner punch from SU! and the border scallop"ish" punch is Fiskars. I keep my flowers all in a box together so I don't even want to guess where they all came from. Everything I inked was SU! inks spots, brights I believe. I need to start making notes when I scrap.. So, I just made a note, to get a note pad to use specifically to take notes when I scrap.. LOL

EXPLORING CRICUT CARTRIDGES, Day 3

Just luvin' this lil one..heheh. Laurie and I found this cute little panda on the Create a Critter cartridge along with the bamboo shoots and bowl of noodles inside card. The lil face on the noodles was done with a peachy keen stamp. We grabbed smile over at Graphically speaking. The graft paper used for the mat and her lil hat is from a Tim Holtz stack, the gray cardstock is from DCWV. We inked the edges of the mat, bamboo and noodle bowl with SU! carmel ink. Me and Lau did right down specific pages and paper stacks and sizes, but when I ripped off the piece of paper I wrote everything on, I tore right through these directions without realizing so I'm doing it by memory and "winging it" as they say . Laurie should be up soon to correct me in any areas that need correcting, lol. Sorry ladies! Oh ya, I think lil miss Panda and her adorable noodles are cut at 2.5"

EXPLORING CRICUT CARTRIDGES, Day 1

Here is a cute xmas card, using traditional colors that was simp to put together. We used ACCENT ESSENTIALS, pg 70 at 2.5" for the frame and GRAFICALLY SPEAKING, pg. 31 at 3" for the lightpost. The black paper is coordinatons and we sandpapered it. The other papers, ribbon & lil wreath sticker came from Lauries stash and the stamp is from INKADINKADO, Play Holiday set. On the inside we used a Fiskars lace punch.

Exploring Cricut Cartidges - Day One

Good morning. I hope everyone had a great weekend, per usual it went by too fast!!

Kel and I were talking about how we have those "go to" cartridges that we use all the time. We decided to challenge ourselves to using two different cartridges on a card or layout. On my layout I used Graphically Speaking for the title and the cute little banner on the bottom and then for the word wonderful I used Paisley. This is a picture of my hubby (in the middle) and our two nephews.

I also wanted to pass along a helpful hint that Kel found on the internet. We found a way to make the book for the cartidge more user friendly.

Step 1: Take out the pages you don't need. So at the beginning of the book, there are a ton of pages we don't need, all the pages in a different language, take them out (I will tell you what do with them in a minute).

Step 2: On the first pages of images, start numbering the pages in the right hand corner, 1, 2, 3 until they are all numbered. When you have the overlay on the Cricut and you see a flower you want to cut, on your number 6 page, you count over six images on the overlay and that will be your flower (let me know if you have any questions, I can post pictures). This truly is a time saver.

Step 3: Don't recycle those torn out pages yet. The pages are perforated on the top and/or bottom. I cut up from the perforated part, about a 1/4 of an inch (so I have somewhere to put the adhesive) and you can use on a page, like I did with this page, underneath the picture you can see the perforated paper (I see these on pages everywhere now).

Stay tuned for some really cute cards that Kel and I made last night, so much fun exploring our cartridges!!

HALLOWEEN WEEK, Day 4

This was sent in by the very talented Tara at A Stamping Good Time She says: This was for a 3D swap I did this past weekend. It is an individual microwave popcorn package, wrapped in cardstock (6 1/2 by 11), then Wicked Fun Designer Series Paper (6x11), punched with the Crop A Dile and then the Black Striped Ribbon runs through it so it holds in the popcorn. The pumpkin is made with 3 Wide Ovals, sponged with Pumpkin Pie; and the Boho Blossoms Punch is what makes the stem. I wrapped the greeting with the Raven 1/2" lace ribbon

CREEPY WEEK, Day 2

A fun card I did at crop I went to this past Saturday. I had done a similar card a while ago, but felt it needed a bit of an improvement, so I tweeked a bit. I used my lil 1.00 witch stamp, that I colored in with some glitter pens. Its hard to see. pop dotted the lil spider, goopy MS punch on the inside and hit it with some glossy accent. I will add my name on the inside of the card with cricut letters when I sent out. I grabbed that paper in a pack I got for 1.00 at Target. Its thin paper, but great for the price for accent paper.

CREEPY HALLOWEEN WEEK - Day 1

Good Morning!!!

A big congrats to Janet for winning the challenge and a big thanks for all that participated! Everyone did a great job!!

So this week Kel and I thought we would celebrate Halloween a bit early and share some halloween cards and layouts.

This layout I just finished a few weeks back (the pictures is from 2005, Dawn took this awesome picture of my son and her daughter). I had some left over halloween patterned paper in my stash, so I thought I better use it. It was a bit thin so I cut around the edges of it adhered it to a piece of cardstock paper. The title was cut from the Silhoutte (Dawn's silhoutte, I don't have one). The orange goo is of course the Martha Stewart Punch that is getting so many uses!!

Here is a close up of the Silhoutte title

This little guy I had in a stash and I have been dying to use him. I was so happy to be able to.

Stay tuned for tomorrow, I believe Kel has a Halloween card. If you want to send some halloween layouts or cards our way we are always happy to post and scrap it foward, we love to see them!!

COLOR CHALLENGE WEEK 2, Day 6

This was sent in by C.C.'s Cards and Crafts This is what she had to say: "It's not anything fancy, but I am trying to push myself to do scrapbook pages and this helps me to do it!!! I didn't use anything fancy; no Cricut, Gypsy, Cuttlebug or anything. I went with 'less is more' but I'm not sure if it worked. "

COLOR CHALLENGE WEEK 2 - Day 5

Good Friday morning! I am so glad the weekend is finally here. It has been a long week. This is my attempt at the color challenge. The blue 12x12 is of course StampinUP! Then I cut the square blocks to roughly 4.5 x4.5. Then with the remaining strips, I just cut them at about an inch. I added some rub ons (well actually lots of rub ons, down the side of two sheets of the patterned paper and acrosse the bottom of the layout and on the picture itself). I used Bazill chip board, then covered with patterned paper (left over from my squares) and the top each one off with a brad. I have to say I was hestitant about the colors, but I

do like the way it came out. I love to be challenged and think outside the box.

I also have to add this picture is circa 1992!! It is me, my sister and sister-in-law.

Have a fantastic weekend!!
