EXPLORING CRICUT CARTRIDGES - DAY 5

Ok as promised here is the layout I did. I used three different cartridges on this page. So the number 5 is from A Childs's Year, page 5 cut at 3" and I hit the Monogram button. The paper is from a StampinUP! designer pack, I don't remember which one, but I do love it.

The "5" border on the bottom of this page is cut from Graphically Speaking cut at 6" and I had the "Fit to page" button on. I wanted it make it a border. I have to say, I scraplifted the border idea from Dawn, she did it on a page for her son's birthday. I love it.

This super cute backpack is cut @ 2" from Doodle Charms, page 119. I finally purchased some Peachy Keen stamps and have been dying to use them. So I gave the backback a face. So cute, brings the backpack to life, (LOL, scrap nerd as Kel would say).

The two people reading is cut from Graphically Speaking, page 51, cut @ 2", I used the Icon Black out and cut the regular cut as well. I used some paper that looked like newspaper. I think it came out soo cute.

FIRST OFFICAL BIZ THEN FUN

Good morning Ladies!!!

It is Friday (thank goodness, that in my mind means scrapping is so very close!!). We wanted to take care of some business then we will post something a little later on.

First up - A BIG welcome goes out to our two new followers, first we have Pjritsema and secondly we have wandwandco. Welcome, welcome, welcome. We didn't see that you had a blog, if you do please let us know and we will be sure to direct the folks over to you. Thanks so very much for stopping by. We hope we like what you see!! We love to "scrap it forward" here, so anything you want to share, please let us know.

Secondly as you know the swap is just about winding down. I have received two swaps already, and let me tell you, they are AMAZING!!!! I am not surprised as we have really talented people, but I think these two gals have out done themselves!! If you don't have my address to send the swap to, please email me at lbaires@comcast.net. We can't wait to see them. Deadline is October 17th. Don't forget to enclose your self addressed stamped envelope so you can get your swaps back!!

Tune in later for a fun layout I did using a few different cartridges. Make it a great day!

EXPLORING CRICUT CARTRIDGES, Day 4

Here is a fun layout I did and think I overdid it.. LOL I was like a mad scientist "evil laugh included" when I was doing this page. LOL. I just couldn't stop adding things! Muahhahhahhahaaa!. I used just about everything.. Lemme see if I can break it down. The lettering is from the new CM cartridge, If ya can swing it,, GET THIS.. it's a goodie!! I think the butterflies are from grafically speaking??. The clock is from Heidi Swapp, the papers are from my stash. the lil blue stamped flowers in the corner are SU! I used two punches on this , a corner punch from SU! and the border scallop"ish" punch is Fiskars. I keep my flowers all in a box together so I don't even want to guess where they all came from. Everything I inked was SU! inks spots, brights I believe. I need to start making notes when I scrap.. So, I just made a note, to get a note pad to use specifically to take notes when I scrap.. LOL

EXPLORING CRICUT CARTRIDGES, Day 3

Just luvin' this lil one..heheh. Laurie and I found this cute little panda on the Create a Critter cartridge along with the bamboo shoots and bowl of noodles inside card. The lil face on the noodles was done with a peachy keen stamp. We grabbed smile over at Graphically speaking. The graft paper used for the mat and her lil hat is from a Tim Holtz stack, the gray cardstock is from DCWV. We inked the edges of the mat, bamboo and noodle bowl with SU! carmel ink. Me and Lau did right down specific pages and paper stacks and sizes, but when I ripped off the piece of paper I wrote everything on, I tore right through these directions without realizing so I'm doing it by memory and "winging it" as they say . Laurie should be up soon to correct me in any areas that need correcting, lol. Sorry ladies! Oh ya, I think lil miss Panda and her adorable noodles are cut at 2.5"

EXPLORING CRICUT CARTRIDGES, Day 1

Here is a cute xmas card, using traditional colors that was simp to put together. We used ACCENT ESSENTIALS, pg 70 at 2.5" for the frame and GRAFICALLY SPEAKING, pg. 31 at 3" for the lightpost. The black paper is coordinatons and we sandpapered it. The other papers, ribbon & lil wreath sticker came from Lauries stash and the stamp is from INKADINKADO, Play Holiday set. On the inside we used a Fiskars lace punch.

Exploring Cricut Cartidges - Day One

Good morning. I hope everyone had a great weekend, per usual it went by too fast!!

Kel and I were talking about how we have those "go to" cartridges that we use all the time. We decided to challenge ourselves to using two different cartridges on a card or layout. On my layout I used Graphically Speaking for the title and the cute little banner on the bottom and then for the word wonderful I used Paisley. This is a picture of my hubby (in the middle) and our two nephews.

I also wanted to pass along a helpful hint that Kel found on the internet. We found a way to make the book for the cartidge more user friendly.

Step 1: Take out the pages you don't need. So at the beginning of the book, there are a ton of pages we don't need, all the pages in a different language, take them out (I will tell you what do with them in a minute).

Step 2: On the first pages of images, start numbering the pages in the right hand corner, 1, 2, 3 until they are all numbered. When you have the overlay on the Cricut and you see a flower you want to cut, on your number 6 page, you count over six images on the overlay and that will be your flower (let me know if you have any questions, I can post pictures). This truly is a time saver.

Step 3: Don't recycle those torn out pages yet. The pages are perforated on the top and/or bottom. I cut up from the perforated part, about a 1/4 of an inch (so I have somewhere to put the adhesive) and you can use on a page, like I did with this page, underneath the picture you can see the perforated paper (I see these on pages everywhere now).

Stay tuned for some really cute cards that Kel and I made last night, so much fun exploring our cartridges!!

HALLOWEEN WEEK, Day 4

This was sent in by the very talented Tara at A Stamping Good Time She says: This was for a 3D swap I did this past weekend. It is an individual microwave popcorn package, wrapped in cardstock (6 1/2 by 11), then Wicked Fun Designer Series Paper (6x11), punched with the Crop A Dile and then the Black Striped Ribbon runs through it so it holds in the popcorn. The pumpkin is made with 3 Wide Ovals, sponged with Pumpkin Pie; and the Boho Blossoms Punch is what makes the stem. I wrapped the greeting with the Raven 1/2" lace ribbon

CREEPY WEEK, Day 2

A fun card I did at crop I went to this past Saturday. I had done a similar card a while ago, but felt it needed a bit of an improvement, so I tweeked a bit. I used my lil 1.00 witch stamp, that I colored in with some glitter pens. Its hard to see. pop dotted the lil spider, goopy MS punch on the inside and hit it with some glossy accent. I will add my name on the inside of the card with cricut letters when I sent out. I grabbed that paper in a pack I got for 1.00 at Target. Its thin paper, but great for the price for accent paper.

CREEPY HALLOWEEN WEEK - Day 1

Good Morning!!!

A big congrats to Janet for winning the challenge and a big thanks for all that participated! Everyone did a great job!!

So this week Kel and I thought we would celebrate Halloween a bit early and share some halloween cards and layouts.

This layout I just finished a few weeks back (the pictures is from 2005, Dawn took this awesome picture of my son and her daughter). I had some left over halloween patterned paper in my stash, so I thought I better use it. It was a bit thin so I cut around the edges of it adhered it to a piece of cardstock paper. The title was cut from the Silhoutte (Dawn's silhoutte, I don't have one). The orange goo is of course the Martha Stewart Punch that is getting so many uses!!

Here is a close up of the Silhoutte title

This little guy I had in a stash and I have been dying to use him. I was so happy to be able to.

Stay tuned for tomorrow, I believe Kel has a Halloween card. If you want to send some halloween layouts or cards our way we are always happy to post and scrap it foward, we love to see them!!

COLOR CHALLENGE WEEK 2, Day 6

This was sent in by C.C.'s Cards and Crafts This is what she had to say: "It's not anything fancy, but I am trying to push myself to do scrapbook pages and this helps me to do it!!! I didn't use anything fancy; no Cricut, Gypsy, Cuttlebug or anything. I went with 'less is more' but I'm not sure if it worked. "

COLOR CHALLENGE WEEK 2 - Day 5

Good Friday morning! I am so glad the weekend is finally here. It has been a long week. This is my attempt at the color challenge. The blue 12x12 is of course StampinUP! Then I cut the square blocks to roughly 4.5 x4.5. Then with the remaining strips, I just cut them at about an inch. I added some rub ons (well actually lots of rub ons, down the side of two sheets of the patterned paper and acrosse the bottom of the layout and on the picture itself). I used Bazill chip board, then covered with patterned paper (left over from my squares) and the top each one off with a brad. I have to say I was hestitant about the colors, but I

do like the way it came out. I love to be challenged and think outside the box.

I also have to add this picture is circa 1992!! It is me, my sister and sister-in-law.

Have a fantastic weekend!!
