HOME DECOR WEEK - DAY FIVE, LAYOUT AND CARD

Good morning Scrappers!!! I hope all is going well on this lovely Friday. As we wrap up Home Decor Week, I wanted to show you a layout and a card I made.

First the card. I decided to keep with the "home" them and make a card for our troops (God Bless them and keep them safe). This card went together soo easy. I used Blue StampinUP! paper for the standard A-2 card. The Welcome Home is from My Mind's Eye as well as the the little red star, self -adhesive. The hardware is from StampinUP! Can you tell I love StampinUP?

Here is a view of the inside of the card. I use the Cricut to cut out some images. I used Graphically Speaking page 43 - I cut the USA at 1 3/4 and the Freedom jumbled word at 1 1/4

Now to the layout. I took a picture of the outside of my house and the decided to put my journaling to work. Dawn and I took an awesome class from Big Picture Scrapbooking (see their website below a great place to take online classes), the class we took was thinking outside the box with journaling. So you take a look at the pictures you want to scrap and really think about what the pictures means, rather than just saying, here is Johnny's 1st birthday his friends were there and everyone had fun. You delve into the actual meaning of the picture. I wrote what this house means to me and how long it has been in our family. Once you start writing you wouldn't be able to stop!!

I used a inkadoo clear stamp with versa mark and stamped the borders, I then embossed with white embossing powder. I cut white StampinUP! organdy ribbon and
placed in between each stamp.

Here is my favorite Tim Holtz Grungeboard, Ideology, Harlequin Elements, that I just inked

The paper I used was, DCWV - Glitter stack for the black and white going across the page, the black cardstock is DCWV LaCrem

HOME DECOR WEEK Day 2

Here is a 2 page layout of pics of my mom's house which I sold last year.

The paper already had the stripes in it. I added the clear flowers and chipboard letters title. I actually debossed the outter edges. I journaled the middle with just words that remind me of my mom's house. Simple but fun.

SCRAPPIN PA

HOME DECOR WEEK - DAY ONE LAYOUT

Lets start the week off right, scrapping style. I did this layout of my new dining room. I could have written a book for my journaling. This page wasn't just about doing the room over and getting new furniture it was about what this room meant to us. For 14 years it has been a play room for the boys. We had a dining for a year before Alex was born. So a lot of playing and fun was had in this room. So to me the journaling is the most important part of this page.

Don't get me wrong I had great fun doing the page and picking the paper and embellishments.
I used the following:

Core'dinations Paper - Neutrals Collections (The green paper, which I then sanded)
DCWV - Old World Statck (Brown paper)
I am not sure where the flowers game from but I do love them.
The pearls in the flowers are StampinUP! Pretties kit

Stay tuned for more fun projects and layouts and perhaps a card!!! Have a wonderful Monday.

Happy Birthday, Pa!!!

DADDY WEEK DAY 5 - LOTS OF GOODIES!!

Good morning Ladies and Pa!! Happy Friday. I have decided to make our last Daddy Week post a good one with lost of fun things. First and foremost, I have a picture of my dad (aka ScrapppingPa) working on one of his many dollhouse. This is I have to say is an addiction. He has probably made at least 20!!! The best thing is, he pays it forward. He always just wants the houses to go to a little child that will play with them. He never, ever charges for them!!!!

Outside and inside view of the dollhouse. He puts hardware floors, and wallpapers and paints the walls!!! Some of these house I want to move into.

Next I picked a layout I did of my grandfather, from pictures that my grandmother had. My grandfather was in WW2. I bought Special WW2 paper and embellishments and put this layout together. The picture of three people are my mom, my grandfather and my great grandfather. What an awesome picture for me to have!! I love the map paper as well.

Lastly this a card I made for my husband. Super, super easy. I used a StampinUP scalloped punch and punched out the back ground paper I used a circle punch to punch out the pictures. Some ric-rack and of course brown, I believe Close to Coco StampinUP paper. The little embellishment across the bottom is from My Minds Eye! The great thing about this card is I just made it, but my boys are now 10 and 15! So it doesn't matter the age, it is something my husband will have forever!!

DADDY WEEK day three

This was a fairly easy page to put together because the paper was already embellished and glittery for me in the corners! I wish I remembered the stack. If anybody out there knows..lol. Scrap it forward sistahs! I cut out the letters and the butterflies in coordinating colors to the page and POOF..a page..lol. The colors going through the middle is just a strip of another sheet of paper from the same stack.
I did this page a while ago This was pre-cuttlebug and "inking skills" LOL. Today I would have definately textured the letters and butterflies with cuttelbug and inked around the die cuts for depth. Hmmmm, I may just have to do minor surgery on this page...heheheh. Anyhow, think about these color combinations in ur next project and see whatcha think! Have fun.. thanks for checking us out!

DADDY WEEK Day2 Fathers Day Card

This lil adorable guy comes to us from an unknown person..LOL.. It's true! What happened is that when me and Laurie were at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life race and came across one booth where a gal was selling homemade cards! Well of course we bought some and then struck up a quick conversation. She said that she used the cricut for the lil fisherman and she stamped the grass and then used a shiny sticker for the fish. We gave her the addy for this blog, so I hope she stops by because this is great work! Well enjoy the cute card & possible get inspired to make your favorite fisherman a card!

Same Pictures different layout

I started a scrapbook for my sister a while ago and gave it to her with empty pages. I told her I would do pages of her kids and then she can just add them. I loved these pictures of her daughter I decided to make a page for me as well. I didn't want to make the same exact thing, so I challenged myself to use the same exact pictures, with two totally different pages.

Here is the first page. Both pages are pretty simple and went together very easy. The stars in back ground are Heidi Swapp Masks, I have a close up the package down below. All you have to do is place the mask on the page, and ink around. A really cool effect, and super easy. I have had these forever and never knew what do with them. Punched the paper under the two pictures on the bottom. I kept a white border around each picture.

This is c'ordinations paper, that you sand and get another color underneath, soooooo cute. The words are cut out by the Cricut used the Baseball Solutions Cartidge. The article was in her school newspaper, so I wanted to be sure that was on the page. This will be the page I give my sister.

Here is an up close picture of the masks I used on the green paper.

This are the supplies I used. Challenge yourselves ladies and gents and of course HAVE FUN!!!

YAY SUSAN!

Nice to have you up and posting my friend! Glad to see your in on the SWAP too!

COOOOOl CARD for a HOT DAY by Tara

Hi Kelly,Here is a cute card I made to look like a cup of lemonade. You take vellum and a sponge, sponge ink on the square of vellum, I did darker on the bottom and lighter on the top. Then free hand folded the vellum wider at the top and narrower at the bottom to resemble a plastic cup. The "sugar" at the top is crystal effects and chunky glitter. Love the blog and ideas!
Thanks for sendin Tara.. Hey ladies....PLEASE VISIT TARAS STAMPIN UP SITE BELOW!

FUN TAG TO MAKE

To embellish this tag, I used Ranger ALCOHOL INKS: WILD PLUM and SILVER mixatives, TWINE, RUB ON sentiment and stick on BLING.

I had a chipboard tag & laid it out on GLOSSY white paper & cut around edges. A good friend told me not to worry too much about getting it exact because you will just sandpaper the edges after you adhere your cut to your chipboard & it looks like a perfect fit! (thanks Dawn)

Next I put drops of the wild plum and silver and gold mixatives on applicator and dabbed away
I stamped DRAGON FLY images with black ink kind of here and there. I inked the edges with a DARK PURPLE , RUBBED ON Best Wishes, added the BLING and TWINE! Easy peasy! I threw together this page just to show it on a 12x12, However, tags can go from cards, to presents to wine bottles so have fun and tag away!

ZOO 2pg LAYOUT by Kel

Here's a fun 2page layout. Although it's simple, it's one I really liked doing. I came across that "Zooper Day" title and just HAD to use it! My elephant and lion pics were from the computer & I just printed them on velum. It's cool because I thought when done they looked like stamps I colored in, but waaaaay easier.. lol. I printed my title on velum too, which I liked. The swirls around the edges are done with a rolling stamp & I added some staples with my Fastenator & felt arrows from American Crafts 4 texture. Well ladies and gents, a lil inspiration... zoo style.. for ya.. LOL have a great day!
