Football Week Day 3 - Super easy page (again)

Thanks for coming back and sticking with us, lol! I know that football can be a boring subject, personally I love it!

So this page when I tell you took me less than 30 minutes I am NOT kidding.  The green football paper that looks like the field I had in my stash.   The title is a self adhesive title from Recollections Adhesive borders. I love the fact its 12x12!! Football is life is cut from the Sports mania cartridge, matted both of my pictures and this page is done!!  Seriously less than 30 minutes!!!

Football Week Page 2 - Easy 30 minute page

As promised day two and a super easy page.  I had two black and white pictures of my son (that Dawn took).  I cropped the pictures down to the size I wanted and mounted a black football play book page (from DCWV) and cropped that down to 10x10 and mounted that on a black piece of 12x12 paper.  The word football is a 3D sticker as are the arrow and the 0's and X's, the little football sticker on the bottom and the page is done is less than 30 minutes!!  Super easy!!

Football Week (Don't turn away, we will show you fun easy pages)

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend and got some crafting in.  I was able to squeeze some in this weekend, of course not as much as I would have liked.

So a while back I mentioned that I was working on football album for my son as he graduating HS this year.

I am going to show you my pages all week long and how easy and fast each page went together.  We know we have a ton of card makers that follow us, but we wanted to show you how easy scrapbooking can be.  So please tune in during the week and see what we have for you.

This is the album I bought at Michael s with a coupon that cost me 5 bucks!! The name Alexander was already on there, so I feel like it was calling my name, (Alex is my son's name).  I cropped my favorite picture of my son and his coach and the album cover is done!!  Easy/Peasy!!

I went to Michael's and AC Moore knowing I was going to do this album and bought a bunch of different football embellishments knowing I could use on different pages, so that really made this so much easier.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Little Birdie Told Me!

I Totally love "keep calm" sayings!  I had to share
Here is a sweet birdie valentine that dawn sent to my house.  Isn't she so Tweet?  LOL.  I thought it was just adorable how the bird opened up to reveal the sentiment, not the card.  I had actually seen this idea last week and was going to try it, Dawn beat me to it.  I just love the idea!  Thanks Dawn! Dawn, where did you get the birdie cut?

8x8 PROJECT

Here is page one of an 8x8 book I am doing for my son who climbed Mt. Washington, NH last year with some buddies.  In a few weeks he is heading to VA for a week long hiking/camping trip, so I want to get this one done.  The mountain was cut from the Camp Out cartridge, I just love it :)

Happy belated Birthday to Dawn

Good morning all! We have survived the Blizzard of 2013 up here in the North!  Lots of snow and lots of shoveling, but we did it.

Last week was Dawn's birthday and I wanted to make something homemade and creative for her, because she is always coming up with super creative things for us!!  So I remembered a tile post she had posted a while back and I thought I can do that.  I creeped on her FB page and picked out 8 pictures and then I followed her directions (which were awesome)!

" I got the tumbler tiles at Home Depot for about $4 for a pack of 8. They are just shy of 4" x 4". I printed the pics out at 3.5" x 3.5" after creating an edge on them in Photoshop Elements. I put a rub-on word on each of them, attached them to the tiles (after dusting them off) with a thin layer of Mod Podge and then applied 3 coats of Mod Podge (matte finish) to each, letting each layer dry before adding the next. I cut squares of cork for the bottoms to protect surfaces that they are on because they are very rough and heavy. They still need to be sprayed with 3-5 coats of acrylic sealer to make them completely water proof"

I love the one od Dawn when she and her siblings were little. She loved the gift!!

Getting the memories in the book.......Day 5

Good morning everyone!  I hope you enjoyed getting the memories in the book week. Kel's pages were awesome.

Here is a page I did for my oldest son.  He is graduating from High School this year and he played football his entire high school career.  I know a lot of folks scrap in chronological order, but I had to make sure this memory got in the book.

This is a pic of my son and his most favorite coach.  Kel sent me a link to the song, "The Boys of Fall" by Kenny Chesney and I listened and knew it had to go on a page.  I printed it out on velum paper and adhered to to the page.  Dawn (our resident photographer) came to one of Alex's game and got this shot of Alex and his coach.   I also love that it took the three of us (Kel, Dawn and I ) to get this page done, lol! Thanks ladies!!!

Not much in the way of embellishments on this page, but it sure does say a lot, doesn't it?

Well we are batten down the hatches here in New England and bracing for a Blizzard, over two feet of snow is forcasted.  We will definately put pictures up!

Have a great weekend.

THE GOOD, THE BAD and THE STORY

This is what I would call a "back in the day" layout.  It's basically just pictures glued to two pieces basic brown paper.  But again, it was about getting these down and in a book and to start telling a story.  These are 2 of about 4 pages with some newspaper clippings and journaling at the end.

This was my son when he went to a National Boy Scout Jamboree a few years back.  On the way, they stopped at DC and it instantly became one of my son's favorite place to be.  This event is about 2 years in the making.  The president even goes each time it is held.  However, this jamboree made unfortuate news.  There was an horrific accident involving some adult leaders that were electricuted when they were helping set up  dining tents.  They were paying it forward, helping out and doing a "good turn daily," the motto of the BSA, when the tragedy happened.    There is a picture of my son dipping into a sprinkler to relieve himself from record heat that year too. The rest of the thousands of scouts got through the week and made it a trip of a lifetime Every one of those thousands of Boy scouts felt the pain of the troops that lost their leaders, the families and  loved ones and my son will still talk about it.  The amazing leaders and families and scouts are an honorable group and although this story is a difficult one to remember,  I felt it was an important part of  our lives, a story of how fragile life can be, and  I didn't want this story  tucked in a box.

NOT LETTING THE FRESHEST MEMORIES GET AWAY

Here is a 2 page layout I did of my Christmas pictures.  I used 2 tree cutouts that I had in my stash and then I grabbed set of Creative Memories papers and simply made straight up and down cuts in different sizes and put them down.  I have YEARS of xmas pics I could scrap but instead of searching for them, I took the latest because the memories were fresh and I knew exactly what  pics I would use to capture Christmas 2012.  These are actually 2 of around 10 pages.  I have this awesome journaling block on the last one that tells a story.   There were so many things that made this xmas extra special and I'm glad I got it all down in the scrapbook right away.  "When you glance at a photo, the light of memory flickers in your eye"

GETTING THE MEMORIES IN THE BOOK Week, day 2

Lots of the pages I've done over the years have no journaling, or very little.  I decided that I really need to write more things down on a page.  But, I figure if I spend $15.00 and 4 hours on embellies for one page and get too fancy, I will lose the faces and memories amongst the puffy flowers, or fancy lace.  So I've changed my ways to get the boxes of pics out of the box and into the page quicker. Here is a 2 page collage I did of a trip me and my hubby took to the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston.  The kids thought it was a lame idea, so we went ourselves on a "date", LOL.

picked out 13 good pictures that brought out the most memories of the day,  I cropped them up a bit to fit them on the 12x12,  I added  journaling, borders, a giraffe from CAC, stickers and that was that! Great memories of a great day, done in minutes and put in the scrapbook.

GETTING THE MEMORIES IN BOOKS Week

I decided to make collages and use up papers I haven't looked at in a while and use the mountains of fun stickers I have boxes of  I am not going in chronological order or saving 20-30 pictures per event in my life.  I just put pictures in piles of 3-6ish or so and put the piles in a box and then I would just reach in the box, pull out a pile of picures and start scrapping.  It's been fun and not stressful at all :)

Here are some CM papers and stickers I used for 1st day of school pics of my kids from around yr. 2001.  My next pile might be my daughters 2nd bday, who knows, either way it will be fun to get them in a book!

MAINE CROP LAYOUT, BEST BUDS

I'm still not sure if I like this layout one or not.  I put it together and pulled it apart a gazillion times.. LOL.  I finally just left it alone because I truly wanted to get this picture in an album because we were just loving the moment when this picture was taken and when I look at it, it makes me smile.  I had that large mat in my stash forever, so I pulled it out and forced myself to use it, LOL.  I had these  great paper flowers that just happened to match so I tossed them on and here ya have it!
