Fun With Alcohol Inks

Happy Wednesday and Happy Halloween!

I have been having some great fun with alcohol inks and dominoes lately. We had an altered domino swap a while back at Boston Area Scrap Fanatics and I really liked doing them. My mother in law was excellent at making them, so I had a lot of inspiration. There is a great tutorial over at The Enchanted Gallery to check out. And here is a video from Tim Holtz on them.

This is the one that I made for the swap. I used Ranger alcohol Inks in Lettuce and Stream, with some Ranger silver metallic mixative and applied them with the felt applicator tool. The rubber stamp was in my stash, so I don't know the manufacturer. I used Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp it and then dried it with my heat embossing tool. The charm was in my stash. The microbeads were adhered with Ranger Glossy Accents. I hot glued a bead from Michaels on the top to put the black cord through.

This next one was made to send to a friend who needed a little pick me up. I used Ranger Wild Plum and Butterscotch alcolhol inks with the gold metallic mixative this time. The leaf is from a SU! set and the gold flakes and shaped bling were in my stash. A smaller bead and frost cord finished it off.

Next up is to try alcohol inks on some acrylic tags, Timmy Holtz style. I can't wait to keep playing!
