Tropical Thank You

It has been feeling so tropical here in New England lately that when I had to make a thank you card, all I could think of was a nice sunny beach and this is what I came up with!

The sand dollar was cut with the Silhouette Cameo
The palm trees were stamped with Versamark and then I added embossing powder and melted it with a heat gun
The adorable brads and ric rac were in my stash from a long ago swap

We will be entering this card in the Anything Goes challenge over at http://blog.docerelashop.com/. Please go check out her very cool stamps! (Thanks, Carri!)

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Baptism Card

A friend at work just had a christening for her grand-daughter. When I saw this file in the Silhouette online store, I knew I wanted to use it to make a card for the baby. It was so easy!

I cut the first layer out of some off white, textured card stock, then I cut the base layer out of SU! Whisper White. I used my Xyron 510 to adhere the two layers together. Unfortunately, this left a lot of glue residue on the edges of the top cut out layer. I brilliantly decided to use this to my advantage and sprinkled the entire card with a fine glitter! All the places where the glue was showing was now all sparkly! I added some iRock bling to the card, stamped "Congratulations" on the inside and it was done! A sparkly, girly card for a beautiful baby girl. :)  We are going to enter this card in a challenge we found out about from our blogger friend Jessica of http://chick-n-scrap.blogspot.com/  (her work is amazing) the challenge is at http://creativeinspirationspaint.blogspot.com/

CLASSROOM FUN!

We post the children's birthdays up on the wall and have fun doing them each month or so based  on the season or theme we are discussing. Here are some yummy ice cream cones!  I cuttlebugged them with divine swirls to give them a yummy look!  the cones are cuttlebugged with a waffle type pattern, I forget the folder name.  The bright colors make them fun too!

COLLAGE PAGE PLANNING

I finally got a scrap day!  WOOHOO.  I pulled out some old pics of my families camping days and decided to do a collage page

I cut the trees from the CAMP OUT cricut cartridge at 2" by 6"
The inspiration for the layout came from the CREATIVE MEMORIES Page Planner book. I LOVE THIS SET.. it comes with the book and the templates.
It gives you step by step directions on 5 different templates.  It even gives you the sizes to cut your pictures which is a plus I have lots of boxes of old pics to go through and lots of collages to do, and with this system, it'll be a cinch!

RAK - Day three

Hello again!  I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!!   Here is ANOTHER thank you card I had to make.  This one is for my son's friend's Mom.  She is also a photographer and took pictures are her house of all of the kids on Prom night, then put the pics on CD"s for all of us, so sweet!!

Dawn's card had more a vintage feel, withe the colors I chose. I wanted a more modern feel for this one.

I use all the same cartridges and Stamp set - just different colors and you have a totally different feel.

Heritage and Accent Essential Cricut Carts
Swiss Dots Cuttle Bug Folder
Recollections paper for the car itself.
My Creative Time Stamp Set - Teen Tiny Greetings

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

It all started with a Random Act of Kindness.......

Good morning everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  The weather was perfect here in Massachusetts!!  I wanted to share a bunch of cards I made that all came from the card I received from Kelly.  I received the top card from Kelly just because, and I just loved it. I had it sitting on my scrap table, and I thought, I have a ton of Thank you cards I need to make, I am going to scraplift her idea (with her permission of course).

So throughout the week I will show all the different ways I made this card.

This one was pretty simple, I used:

StampinUP Not Quite Navy cardstock
Divine Swirls Folder
StampinUP Tag Punch Set (I love this set)
StampinUp Ribbon
Fiskar's punch along the bottom of the card, hard to see because I wrote the card out before I took the picture.

Have a great day!!!

Beach Fun.......and a thank you!

Hello everyone.  Sorry we have been MIA. End of the year stuff is killing us.  Kel's youngest just graduated High School, yay Amanda!!  Dawn and I still have kids in school until Wednesday.  So we are busy trying to get everything done.

This past weekend Kel and I were lucky enough to get away to Cape Cod for the weekend.  My cousin has a cute little cottage and she let us (and my sister and my cousin) use it for free for the weekend!!  We had such an awesome relaxing weekend.  Just what we all needed.

Before I left I made my cousin a thank you card.

What I used:

DCWV Tahiti Beach Stack for the base of the card and for the word patterned paper
Fiskars wave punch
Life's a Beach Cartridge - chair cute at 2.5
Re'collections paper sanded down
My Creative Time Teeny Tags (Thank you)
StampinUP!  Hodgepode for the little paper clip
StampinUP! Magic Mesh (my last piece, so sad)

I have to say I was quite please with the outcome.

Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by!!!

Princess Baylee

Yesterday was my niece's birthday. She is all about Rapunzel these days. So, when I saw this file in the Silhouette online store, I just knew I had to make it for her. Two simple cuts, add some bling ('cause every princess needs bling!) and it was done.

Here she is dressed in the Rapunzel costume that we gave her, braid and chameleon to boot. She's so cute, I can't stand it!

Here's some trivia for you: what was that chameleon's name in Disney's Tangled? A RAK to the first person to guess it correctly!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Thank You. Thank You Very Much.

Cone on now ... you know you read that title in your best Elvis voice in your head! LOL! I have a couple of thank you cards to show you today. (I told you I had a lot of cards to make this month!) The first is a thank you card from my son for his birthday presents. As Laurie said a couple of posts back, he is a lover of anything creepy, crawly or squishy, so I stole Laurie's idea of using a frog on the card.

I totally lifted this card from one that I had seen on the Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge. The cute sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.

This second card was inspired by all the white on white handmade cards that are out there right now. I just love the look!

The card was cut with the Cameo and then I hand embossed part of the front with a Fiskars Shape Boss that I have had forever from Noni's stash. All I had to do after that was add the flowers and some bling and done!

Hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday!

More Father's Day Stuff

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a nice weekend! I have one more post of Father's Day things to share. I made this Silhouette cassette shaped card for my hubby, who still has a huge cassette collection, with my Cameo. He got a good chuckle out of it. I added some iRock metal bling in the corners and the stamps in the middle to dress it up a little.

I also used the Cameo's Print and Cut feature to make this coupon book for him from the kids. It was so easy ... literally print it out, cut it out and use the ribbon to hold it together. He loved it!

Father's Day Card

I made this card for my dad with the Cameo. I got him a Sony Walkman CD player for Father's Day and gave it to him early because his old one broke. He loves it. I burned a Rat Pack cd for him which is held on the inside of the card.

Details:
Card: Silhouette cd card file
Phonograph: Silhouette file
Rock On Dad: Silhouette file
Ticket: Tim Holtz
Paper: Graphic45
Gear: Oriental Trading
Metal embellies: iRock
Rat Pack cd: iTunes

I am going to enter this in the Creative Cutter Room's Father's Day Challenge. Hope on over and check out all the great entries!

Hope everyone has a wonderful relaxing weekend!

More Critters

I find myself having to make a lot of cards this month between birthdays, graduations, Father's Day and sick friends! Here are two that I made last night. The first is for Pa, whose birthday is today. Happy Birthday, Pa! Hopefully, he won't be checking the blog till after he opens his cards. :) The second is for a friend who had a recent injury and could use a smile.

The cactus and the the cow were made using the Print and Cut feature on the Cameo. I used Copics to color the cactus and a Tim Holtz folder for the background texture. The cow is pop-dotted for dimension. I finally broke down and got some Crinkle Ribbon from 3 Girl Jam. Now I know why Laurie loves it so! It is awesome! The skunk is a regular cut from the Cameo. I used a pink brad for his nose and the flowers are from Oriental trading. Both sentiments came from My Pink Stamper's Sets.

One more day till Friday - we can make it!

Congrats Cards

Who doesn't need some congrats cards on hand, especially at this time of year? I joined in a congratulations card swap over at Boston Area Scrap Fanatics and this is what I came up with.

The tall card is a Silhouette file cut with my Cameo. I used a Rusty Pickle paper on the inside so that the "congratulations" cut would really show when the card was closed. I used the We R Memory Keepers Sew Ribbon Tool to add the ribbon to the front of the card. It is soooo cool, that I may have to get a couple more different designs! The flower came from a bday package from Laurie. Thanks, Lau! On the smaller card, the word "congrats" was cut with my Cameo and I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder to the background for some texture. I finished it up with some iRock bling in the corners.

I can't wait to see what the other ladies in the swap came up with!

Cats and Skunks and Possums and Raccoons! Oh My!

I got this chipboard album on clearance at ACM for $1.00! My mom has had a beautiful Siamese cat, named Simon, for about 10 years. I have NEVER seen him!!! He hides whenever someone comes over the house. The most I have ever seen of him is his glowing eyes under her bed when I shone a light there to try to see him. LOL! So, mom doesn't have many pictures of him, but I did find a couple. To fill in the rest of the book, I used pictures of the critters that she leaves food out for and that come around every night! Her other wild fur-babies!

Papers are mostly from the DCWV Pet Stack, plus 2 that I could not resist at JoAnns. Embellies are all from my stash. I jazzed up the edges of the papers with faux stitching using a Sharpie.

(That's him on the last page! I told you he was beautiful!)

HIlton Head, SC

I also love this pictures, shows a lot of the men in my life (I have a lot!!).  My dad, my nephew, my brother, my older son and in the back ground my husband and my younger son.  Told you I had a lot of men. We all went on vacation together to Hilton Head, South Carolina.  What a beautiful Island! We had some much fun.  I used SEI En Route Papers and Embellishments.  Fiskar Wave punch, then I cuttlebugged it with Divine Swirls and inked it up.  Done!  I am coming right along with Pa's book!

Pa's pages are coming along.........

I love, love this picture of my Dad and my nephew.  I think my nephew was two in this picture.  He is now 8!  Time flies.  Purple is my Dad's favorite color.  Me and You is from Graphically speaking and the rest of the paper is from my stash. Although the blank paper (really cardboard) with the letters on it is from the inside of the Kindle Fire Box.  It was soo cool I saved it.  I painted a bit to give the paper some texture.

Hippity Hoppity Birthday

Happy Rainy Tuesday.  Looks like rain all week here in the Northeast!  Here is a birthday card I did for Dawn's little guy for his birthday.  He loves, bugs, and frogs and snails.  So I found this frog paper, DCWV, I just purchased two sheets from Michaels.  The frog is from Create a Crittter and Birthday wishes is from My Creative Time Stamp set, Teeny Tags. I love that stamp set.  Of course my favorite kraft paper and Fiskar's scalloped punch.  Have a great Tuesday!

A SWINGING PAGE

Here is a simple 2 page layout I did with some older pics of my family.  We were swinging on a wooden seat swing my in-laws had put up in their back yard.  We must have swung for hours! It's a nice memory :)  I used DCWV Garden Party and Linen stack for the paper.  I inked the edges with brown chalk and then I just added some fun simple titles.  I added three brads and I will add some journaling before I put it in a book.
