GROWN UP PARTY - DECORATE TO CELEBRATE

Hello everyone! I am sooooo excited, Rhonda and Amy over at http://decoratetocelebrate.blogspot.com/ (we have a link to their blog on our sidebar) emailed me and asked me to a guest designer for the new challenge they have posted for today. The challenge is a decoration for a grown up party! I was so honored when they asked me, this is my first guest desginer spot!! Of course I am having trouble with blogger (shocking I know). So I could only upload one picture. I will try to get more pictures up later. Please head on over and check out their blog and join in on the fun. The challenge runs to July 12th. Always great inspiration over there.

I decided to make this centerpiece that could also be used for the cards the guest of honor receives. I used the following:

Happy Hauntings - pg 65 for the tombstone cut at 4"

Alphabet Cartridge that came with the E2 - for Over The Hill, cut @ .75"

Sports Mania - Border Flags, pg 79, cut @ 4"

A Child's Year - Happy Birthday, pg 71, cut @ 2"

Blue and Red Vinyl.

Teacher Gift

Dawn and I saw this adorable idea on the Everyday Cricut blog, and thought we can do that. It is a tissue box for the teachers desk with four empty sides. Dawn of course, being Goggle girl, found a place where we could find the tissue boxes, Hobby Lobby. Since we don't have a Hobby Lobby near us we had to order online. So here is my take on it. I mostly used the Locker Talk cartridge, love, love this cartridge. Here are a few sides, that I did and a view the side.

I am not sure if Dawn was able to do hers, as she had a crazy weekend, but if I know her like I do, she finished them (she had to do 3) and stayed up half the night to get them done. If she did do hers, I will post them as well.

Kel is off to see Taylor Swift tonight with her daughter. I hope they are having a great time. The weather is perfect.

We are so excited because tomorrow is our last day of school. Yay summer!!!!!!!!

AWARDS FROM TWO OF OUR GOOD BLOG FRIENDS

Good morning all!! I wanted to post this award that we won on TWO blogs!! We received this award from our good friend Audrey over at http://cuteandsome.blogspot.com/ . You have go over and check out her post for today! She made this amazing album, just gorgeous and we won the same award from our great friend Rhonda over at http://scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/. We all know Rhonda for her awesome mini's!!! I have be the recipient of one and I have one of the way, I a sooooo exited. Her work is amazing!! She also has a fun decorate to celebrate blog with fun contests going on. Check out the sidebar for that link. I have to write 8 things about myself. I hate this part!!!!
1) I am the Mom of two awesome boys, 16 and 11. My son's and husband's names all begin with the letter A! It was not a conscience choice just happened.
2) I am the most organized, on time person, among my three siblings. They drive me crazy with their lateness and being so unorganized. I always said I was adopted.
3) I will eat anything that has to do with chocolate.
4) I have been married for 18 years.
5) We bought my Grandmother's house (basically the house I grew up in). So I have known this neighborhood my whole life. I love my neighbors!
6) Kel and I have been friends since High School.
7) Dawn introduced me to scrapbooking, like 5 years ago, by showing me an album she did. I remember thinking, I would LOVE to be able to do work like that. I thought I could NEVER do that. Here I am in full addiction!!
8) I put ice in everything I drink!

Ok, that was painful!! Now to pass the award on. This is not easy for me either. I once read on Kate's blog that she didn't like to do this and offered the award to anyone who wanted to take it. I am taking Kate's advice and saying the same to our followers. We have too many "favorite" blogs to give out just 8!!

Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!

PUMPKIN in a PATCH

Okee dokee folkies..How is everyone? As laurie has mentioned, I'm in the middle of moving. Things are going ok.. but sloooow going. I've been DYING to scrap. Soooooo, I decide to whip up a page last night. I think "hmm...easy peasy.. I got stuff.. I got pics.. I'll just whip it up" Yaaaaa, right! So I begin with No blade in my cutter, then move onto mono but no holder, then a series of "where is the paper? the stamps? the inks??" YIKES! So I just used what I had available! I used liquid glue with no applicator. My finger worked wonders.. LOL. I used my steady hand to cut and when I went to go finish it off with a cut from my Cricut, the PLUG was nowhere to be found.. LOL. So... this is what I came up with ladies. It was nice to at least run my fingers through SOME paper.. LOL. PS.. Can't find my camera, so these were taken with my phone.. LOL PSS..Don't tell Laurie I lost the blade, its HER cutter.. LOL

Graduation Card by Dawn

Good morning all!! Thanks for your well wishes for my Dad. Looks like he will be coming home today! It will be a long recovery road for him, as he is not one to sit still. This is should be interesting!! He is going to stay with my sister (good luck to her).

Here is an absolutely adorable card that Dawn did for one of friend's daughters. I just love this card, so darn cute.

Dawn says "
Cutout card was done with the Silhouette, cut at 5.5", this file:
http://www.silhouetteonlinestore.com/v2/viewShape.aspx?id=18345, Owl and quote are from Cornish Heritage stamps; colored with Copics; flowers, stickers and brad from my stash."

Have a wonderful Tuesday, everyone!!

Teacher Thank You Card

Good Monday Morning everyone! Sorry for the delay in posts. Things are crazy around here, with the end of school stuff, sports and oh ya, my Dad took a fall off a ladder over the weekend! My family and ladders just don't mix!! He had surgery on his ankle yesterday and is feeling pretty good. He is still in the hospital. Not sure when they will spring him.
Kel is busy unpacking, therefore she has been MIA. Although not happily as she hasn't been able to craft. Hopefully soon she will be up and running again.

Here is a thank you card I did for my Son's teacher. I have to say I was re-introduced to this cartridge by our good friend Kate over at http://smallbitsofpaper.blogspot.com/. She won the Locker Talk Cartridge from us and then made us a thank you card with it. The card had the piece of notebook paper on it and I fell in love. I thought perfect for a Teacher's Thank you card. I used my markers first to draw the image and then cut it out. I love using the markers on the cricut and I always forget about them.

The notebook paper is found on Page 65 and the cute little paperclip is on 41. I cut the paper at 4" and the paperclip @ 1". I love the idea of the paperclip, because it isn't bulky and doesn't weigh the card down. The cuttlebug folder I used was Tim Holtz, alterations. The Thank You stamp is from StampingUP!

4th of July Invites

Good morning!! All is FANTASTIC here in New England our Bruins won the Stanley Cup (sorry Marlene :(. We are on cloud nine and very sleepy!! Having a house full of males, you can only imagine how my house was last night!

I have 4th of July at my house each year and I like to make invites. This year I kicked it up old school and didn't use the Cricut (gasp, I know). I used stamps, ink, paper and perfect pearls. I have to say I love how they came out. I am entering these in our good friend Rhonda's Decorate to Celebrate blog, http://decoratetocelebrate.blogspot.com/ They have a 4th of July theme going on over there, you need to go and check them out!! Their design team came up with some really cute ideas!

Pa's birthday gift (all about Pa this week)

Top O' the morning to ya (said in my best Irish brogue). I am feeling a wee bit Irish today (or perhaps just crazy from the lack of sleep). As promised I am posting the gift I made for my dad. It is so hard to buy him anything because he has everything and buys what he doesn't have. He posted these pictures on Facebook from a party that all of his brothers were at (a rarity) and I thought I am going to do something with that picture. So here is it is.

I bought some new paper from Cosmo Cricket and then started tearing it (Kel move right there) and I used Coordinations paper and sanded that down to give it a vintage feel. Magic Mesh from StampinUP! and Brothers is cute from Heritage Cartridge.

I bought a frame at AC Moore and done!
My dad is the one on the far right with the cowboy like shirt, hence Dawn's card from yesterday. The man is born and bred in Massachusetts moves to Texas for the winters and thinks he is a cowboy!

Dawn's card for Pa - Happy Birthday Pa!!

Good morning everyone!! Yet another rainy day! I think we are day 5 of rain, I don't know, I lost count!!

Here is an adorable card Dawn made for Pa. Pa is Pa to all. All my friends and their kids call him Pa! During the winter months, Pa lives in Texas. So Dawn incorporated that in this card. I just love it and I know he will to. Dawn cut it all with her Silhoutte!! Thanks, Dawn!!

The inside of the card says, "On your birthday" So cute!!

Stayed tuned for tomorrow to see what I made Pa for his birthday!

Pa's Bday card

Good afternoon everyone!! Sorry for the late post, the day just got away from me! Here is a card my made for my Dad, tomorrow is his birthday. I used a lot of Tim Holtz' products on this card. My goal was to make it a manly card. I think I have accomplished that. I did use the Cricut Celebrate with Flourish Cartridge for the Happy Birthday. Everything else, except the hardware (StaminUP) is Tim Holtz!!

I learned a fun little tip from our friend Susan, who sold StampinUp for years. I took a close up picture of the date on the calendar, June 14th, which is his birthday. To highlight I used a pencil eraser and dipped in green in and stamped in on the date. To make the circle light, stamp it on another piece of paper first. So easy and so cute!!

I am sure he will love this card. He is a card maker himself.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!! Again another weekend gone by.

Sweet 16 Card

Woohoo for Friday. Friday is absolutely my favority fave!!!! Soccer and baseball are beginning to wind down. I feel like we have been moving at full speed for two months. I was able to make a card for my niece who is turning 16 on Monday. I was able to make it last night, because baseball was cancelled! My niece plays softball on two maybe three teams, so I wanted to have a little softball lady on my card.

I cut the little lady from Cricut Decal Cartridge (the cartridge that came with the E2). I did have to cut her out three different times as I wanted the little lady to be white and I wanted her to have brown hair and a brown glove. Her team shirt had to be maroon, so I cut her, white, brown and maroon @ 3.25.
I had to use the Perfect pearls, I just love them and it gives it a feminine touch. And you will be happy to know, I didn't touch them ALL night and they dried nicely!!

There is a close up of the little lady. I was looking for google eyes, I couldn't find mine. Dawn couldn't find hers either, but she came over with these blue little blings and sure enough my niece has blue eyes, so perfect touch!! Thanks, Dawn!! I cuttlebugged her little shirt and glove.

Sweet is from Graphically Speaking on pg 40. It actually says Sweet Girl, I cut off the girl. 16 is cut from George and the Basic Shapes. I used the strips of paper from my cut outs of the little lady!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend!!!

Dog Layout and a big welcome to our new followers!

Here is a layout I did of our dog, Lightning, and us playing the card game Uno. It is true, we all thinking Lightning is a person. I think he may have won this game.

When I was in the scrapcave working on this page, I asked my 11 year old what the title should be. He said, if Lightning could talk he would talk like Scooby-Doo and this game would be "R" Uno. Thanks, Andrew for a great title!! This was a super easy page to put together. The paper is Cloud 9, Cocoa mint, and then the title and done. I wanted the pictures to tell the story.

Here is a close up of the title. I am sorry, I can't remember which cartridge I used to cut this.

A big Serenity Scrappers welcome goes out to our two newest followers, lolis @ http://lolismycorner.blogspot.com and Melin over @ http://cookingwithcricut.blogspot.com/ Welcome on board!!!

Another Fun layout

Hello everyone!! Thanks so much for your comments yesterday, we love all our followers!!

Here is a fun layout I did of my oldest (who is now 16). I love these pictures of him. We were at Sea World in Florida, I think, and the most fun he had was a small little playground in Sea World!

I used Life's a Beach Cartridge to cut the pail at 2" and I cuttlebugged the sand. The pattered paper is from StampinUp! It all came in a kit. I love anything StampinUp!

ANOTHER FATHER'S DAY CARD

Hello bloggers!!! I have yet another Father's Day card to show you. This one is for my Uncle (I haven't made one for my husband yet!!). My Uncle is such an awesome guy! Even though he lives in New Jersey, we talk, text (which is very impressive for a man that does not understand technology at all) all the time. He is such an inspiration and I just love him! He has the best sense of humor and has been through a lot in his life yet still manages to laugh!!

He has a motorcycle, so when I saw the Father's Day Cartridge and saw the motorcycle, I thought I have to make him a card. I cut both the motorcycle and the layers @ 2". I didn't have any gray paper ( I have since fixed that problem). So I pulled out some vellum paper and used perfect pearls to get the gray look. Happy Father's Day is cut at 2" as well. Use some bakers twine and the card was done. I am sure he will love it.

Now to to get going on my husband's card!!

Father's day card

Good morning Ladies - Ahh yet another Monday! I feel like it was JUST Monday!! The Relay walk went very well. Our team raised $3,000, so we were proud of our accomplishment!! Here is a picture of the pages on the table. My plan was to decorate the basket, but time got away from me, I just tied a cute ribbon on the top.

Here is a father's day card I made for my Dad. Let me tell you super easy. I used the Father's Day Cartridge (I love this cart) and cute Best Dad Ever at 2.5". I used brown kraft paper and I used the Candy Cane Strips folder. The strip of paper across is from Cloud Nine - Cocoa Mint (I love, love this stack).

I have the bestest besties eva!!!

Good morning!!! We had a crazy, crazy weather here in Massachusetts yesterday! We had tornado's!! That's right. The poor people in Western Mass were hit hard! So crazy!!! We had an insane storm last night, but no tornado's thank goodness!!

This weekend is the Relay for Life walk (walk for cancer), I will be participating with my family and friends. We did it last year and it was amazing. Kel, Dawn and I have had close family members pass away from cancer, so its a cause close to our hearts. As I am sure many of your have been affected by this awful dreadful disease.

I am not good with raising money, so I was trying to come up with clever ways to do so. Over the weekend I came up with a brilliant idea and my girls rose to the challenge without a thought!! Thank you Kel, Dawn and Susan, you rock.

I thought we could make 8x8 scrapbook pages and sell them at the walk. I asked them to make 5 each. Here are a few, we will be showing the rest of them over the next few days. Kelly's is the first one. Dawn's is the second one and the last two are mine. The one that has the year 2010 will have a picture from the walk last year and displayed on the the table, showing the non-scrapbookers how easy it is to just put a picture on it and be done!!

GIVE ME A SIGN!

Can you guess by this sign in what room, at a preschool, my new job is?? LOL. Yep, with the little littles..awwww. I need to thank my BFF Laurie for helping me with this. I have not only started a new job, I am also moving. So, I have packed away all my scrap stuff...waahaaa.. Luckily, Laurie lives real close and I was able to do all my work on my Gypsy and then bring it on over to her house and print it all up on her E2! I used Plantain Schoolbook for the lettersHere I cut up my pails that I will use around my room too.
When we cut the letters..we took out the big guns! We used a 12x24 Cricut mat to get a lot done quickly. It worked out fantab!
This was a fun project to work on and everybody at my new job is incredibly impressed. Of course, not one knows what a Cricut is...LOL. Yikes, they have no idea of my decorating capability..do they?? lol
