Happy Friday and LOAD513

It is finally Friday - hooray!! It seems like it took forever to get here this week!

I have been playing along with Lain Ehmann's LOAD513 (Layout A Day - May 2013) and thought I would share some of the LOs that I have created. I have kept up so far and the LOs are not masterpieces, but they are done! I hope I can keep it up and have 31 pages done by the end of the month!

So, the theme of this LOAD is the board game "Clue". Lain gives a prompt every morning that you can choose to follow - or not. Just getting a page done a day is the goal. I think it is fun to read the prompt in the morning and then spend my day daydreaming about what page I will create that night (when I should be working!) Here are some of the pages and the prompts that I have done so far:

WHO (as in who dunnit?)

MRS. PEACOCK (use the character or color as inspiration):

MODUS OPERANDI (what is someone's MO?):

THE WRENCH (use a tool, scrap about a tool, etc):

I am having so much fun and will share more LOs as we go along!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Gettin' Disney Done

I am back to getting some more Disney layouts done. I took soooo many pictures on our trip, that I may never be done! It is fun to go back and look at these with the kids, though, and relive the fun time that we had. I have been using some of the March Madness Challenges over at Boston Area Scrap Fanatics to get them done. Lots of fun going on over there - check it out, if you have a chance!

This first one was a sketch challenge. The sketch had a big heart in the background, but all I saw was Mickey Ears!

The next challenge was to use the title and/or words from the song "Don't Worry, Be Happy". These pictures of the kids at the Spirit of Aloha Luau made me think of that song!

This challenge was to use mostly pink on something. You can't get much more pink-ish than Disney princesses!

Everything was from my "Disney stash", which became quite large when we got back from our trip in 2011. I have to start using it up, so I will be back with more Disney layouts for sure!

Have a thrilling Thursday!

VINYL CHALLENGE by CARRIE

Here is a GREAT idea and great Vinyl project from Carrie at DoubleClick Connections - AKA Abusybee Here is what she had to say:

"Our Town just started a recycling program! We are super excited! I ran out and purchased two new identical cans to fit in the kitchen. They looked great until this was all I heard... "Mom, which one is for recycle?" "Mom, did you say it's the right one or left one?" Etc Etc....So here was my solution! I used my Gypsy, letters from Wild Card and cut this out of vinyl! Now everyone knows which can is recycle!"

VINYL CHALLENGE TRIFLE BOWL

This is sent in by Kate at Small Bits of Paper She says: "I've seen a few trifle bowls fancied up with a bit of vinyl and decided to give it a go myself. My trifle bowl is from Pampered Chef. I cut Bon Appétit and some leaves from Ashlyn's Alphabet. I chose this cartridge as it has accents and I needed an accent aigu for the phrase. (I bought Ashlyn's Alphabet especially for the accents.) I had measured the bowl first and adjusted the letters to get a height with which I was happy."

Challenges done by Kel and Laurie

The weekend has arrived. Woohoo!! Kel and I got together last night and did a few challenges we will show the others through the week. This one is due today. We entered the challenge over at http://papercraftstar.blogspot.com/ You have to use at least two of the following colors, and two of the following, ribbon, embossing, stamped image or die cut. Kel is also entering her card over at http://peachykeenstampschallenge.blogspot.com/

This is Kel's take. This card is soo cute. She used brown's and blues and die cut the butterflies, embossed the little blue strip and stamped on the butterfly. I love, love this card. The polka dot paper is from DCWV Linen stack, such an awsome stack. The blue paper is StampinUP! Great job, Kel!

I chose this because I am going to entering it in another challenge (will show during the week). I choose the blue and the pink and I embossed the little cup. I used a Tim Holtz folder, they really cut deep, some places actually ripped and this is StampinUP! paper. This is from Tags, Boxes and more cart. I inked the edges of the cup and used this little friends die cut.

I also entered my cute little cup over at http://magchallengebythepage.blogspot.com. This is an awesome blog that you use your cricut carts for the challenges, great fun!

JEANS CRAFTY CHALLENGE ENTRY

Here's Jeans entry for the challenge. She says :
I started out with a plain blue sheet of paper as the background. I used the Christmas Solutions cart to cut the Santa and the moon. I then printed out the sheet music to the song Up on the Rooftop and used Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink to make it look aged. I used some gold foil paper from a paper stack called winterberry to matt the picture of Kaylee with Santa. To finish it off, I took a yellow glitter pen and hand drew some stars around the page. Please check out some of her other super creations at
