A Beautiful Card By Laurie

I just had to show off this beautiful card that Laurie made for me as a thank you note. The deign, the colors, the embellies are all just too delicious!! I know she created the flower centers with her new fun Epiphany Craft tool. She will have to tell us the rest of the deets on how she made it!

This Calls For A Toast!

With all the weddings, graduations and baby showers coming up for June, I needed to make some congrats cards. Inspired by a card that I saw at Cutcardstock.com, I got this awesome stamp set from CardzTV and got to work. I am always one for a good pun, so I love this stamp set!

The base is kraft cardstock, my favorite for card making. The toaster and bread are Silhouette Cameo cut files. The patterened paper is very old and from my stash. I embossed the toaster with the Cuttlebug Spots and Dots folder and then inked all the edges. The slice of bread is actually patterned paper that looks textured - also old and from my stash! The google eyes are from my stash (it is a running joke between Laurie and I that we can never find our google eyes when we need them!) and I drew the little smile and faux stitching and inked on the blushed cheeks. I added the little stick on pearls for some dimension.

Simple, but cute and punny!

If you don't like the New England weather ....

.... just wait a minute!!! Good morning, fab followers and Happy Wednesday! This week is just flying by and the weather here in New England is doing its usual crazy dance. We have gone from snow flakes in some areas over the weekend to an expected heat wave in the 90's starting tomorrow. It sure has been extra crazy around here, too, with baby showers, graduations, birthdays, sports and just life stuff. But, we are making memories for us to scrap, so yay!

I thought I would share a few more LOAD513 layouts with you today. I am so proud of myself for keeping up with it this time. If i can make it to Friday, I will have created 31 layouts for the month! I am going to take a picture of the whole LOAD stack when I am done. Of course, don't ask me what my scrap room looks like right now! The best thing about LOAD513, besides finishing all those LOs is learning that I CAN take an hour out of the day somewhere just to be creative. I am definitely going to remember to try to do it more often for myself, once LOAD513 is over.

Here are some recent LOAD513 LOs and the prompts that inspired them:

Bubble Boy:
Prompt: the movie "PSYCHO" (I thought about the shower scene and knew I had tubby pics)

First Trip To Fenway: (my fave so far)
Prompt: CANDLESTICK(I thought - Candlestick Park>Baseball> Fenway!)

Good and Bad Pirates:
Prompt: CONFLICT

Rivercats:
Prompt: MISS SCARLET(I went with the color of the uniforms)

Tand Soo Do:
Prompt: SELF DEFENSE

This Boy Can Sleep Anywhere:(this one cracks me up!)
Prompt: WHERE

Thanks for looking and have a great rest of your week!

Happy Friday and LOAD513

It is finally Friday - hooray!! It seems like it took forever to get here this week!

I have been playing along with Lain Ehmann's LOAD513 (Layout A Day - May 2013) and thought I would share some of the LOs that I have created. I have kept up so far and the LOs are not masterpieces, but they are done! I hope I can keep it up and have 31 pages done by the end of the month!

So, the theme of this LOAD is the board game "Clue". Lain gives a prompt every morning that you can choose to follow - or not. Just getting a page done a day is the goal. I think it is fun to read the prompt in the morning and then spend my day daydreaming about what page I will create that night (when I should be working!) Here are some of the pages and the prompts that I have done so far:

WHO (as in who dunnit?)

MRS. PEACOCK (use the character or color as inspiration):

MODUS OPERANDI (what is someone's MO?):

THE WRENCH (use a tool, scrap about a tool, etc):

I am having so much fun and will share more LOs as we go along!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

BFF Birthday Presents

Happy Thursday, fantab followers! Sorry that we have not been keeping up with posting lately, Life has just been crazy busy for everyone. Hopefully, it will slow down soon and we can get back to crafting!

Yesterday was Laurie's birthday and, as promised, here are a couple of goodies that I made for her to celebrate.

This easel card is a Lori Whitlock file that I got in the online Silhouette store. The paper is about 100 years old from my stash (I think it was a very old Spring Stack?) and the flowers were actually a present to me from Laurie last year! The sentiment is a Bazzill chip topper, also from my stash. There are two brads (although you can't see one of them here) that hold the card in standing up position when it is opened.

This mini chipboard album is also by Lori Whitlock and is from the Silhouette online store. I was super excited to find out that Silhouette had their own chipboard to cut! It is just a little thicker that cereal box cardboard, so I doubled up on it for the covers. I used papers from my stash and a Tim Holtz clock on the front cover. Each page is actually a pocket page with a tag, so there are lots of surfaces for pics and embellies. I kept the embellies to a minimum, so Laurie can choose the theme of her album.

These were lots of fun to make and give to a great scrappy friend!

Happy Mother's Day!

This is an altered canvas that I made for my mom. She loves tigers, so when I saw this pic on FB, I knew I had to use it for her. After using gesso on the canvas, I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists to color the background. The title is a Silhouette studio file cut with the Cameo. MOM is embossed with the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder. I got the leaves and cute paw print ribbon at AC Moore.

We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day 2013!

LOVE ME SOME HUGS!

A fun layout I liked these pics of me and my daughter hugging it out :)  I added a cute little owl cut from a Creative Memories cartridge.  My daughter is going through an "owl" phase, so I thought it was fitting to add one. I went very plain with embellies on this and used a CM ideas book for the page map.  No, I do not sell CM, lol.  I just really like their products and the crop I was at had a huge table of CM products for our use!  So, I tried lots of stuff!

NATURE IS WHERE IT"S AT!

The smell of toasty warm fires, friends, family, laughs, yummy food and teamwork!  I LOVE camping!

I also LOVE LOVE using my Creative Memories Page Planner.  I highly suggest this set and the Nancy O'dell Creative Memories set  for all those loose pics that you want to get in a book.   The templates are easy peasy to use!  and the booklets that come with the sets pretty much do all the work for you as far as how and where to put embellies if you need to add.
Again, I need to journal, LOL. Someday!

PICNIC TABLE PRANKSTERS!

And another campin' out layout.  I loved the fun pics on this page and it brought back some silly memories of that trip.  The reason it says "pranks" is that all my fellow campers waited till I went to the bathroom to pull a trick on me.   I came back to a campsite in which everybody was in their tents, strange?  hmmm. We were just playing card and singing round' the fire.  I look down and in front of me there was a snake at the bottom of the picnic table. I scream (repeatedly!) and try my hardest to jump up ONTO the table (in no way shape or form did I do it either. lol) in a complete panic.  I hear lots of laughter at that point and then take a closer look at the PLASTIC snake!  LOL.  It took me a few minutes to recoop from that.. LOL We had lots of fun goofing around the fire and playing rummy and making YUMMMO treats too!

HAPPY CAMPERS

Here is a layout that I did at a recent crop.  These are fun pics of family and friends that went camping back in 2011We had LOTS of laughs.
I used a really fun Creative Memories border to do the trees and I did the cuts from CAMP OUT cricut cartridge.

I haven't done any of my journaling yet.

BOSTON STRONG

Here is a picture of our beautiful city of Boston.  It has been a terrifying week here in Boston and in the Nation.  We are all so happy  that the 2nd suspect in the marathon bombings has been captured.  We pray for those families who lost lives and  for those who were injured at the hands of terrorists.  We pray we will get answers and justice.
And, on a lighter note,  when people have to miss Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins games around here, SHIT  GETS REAL!  LOL.   God bless the USA and the human race!

Happy Anniversary

Here is an anniversary card I whipped up.  It really is super busy, almost too busy for me.   But Kel said she loved it, so I am going with it. I figured, I would step out of my comfort zone and just go with it!!

Everything I used was from my stash.  I have had this paper for ever!! I cut out some of the flowers and adhere them with pop dots, give it the 3D feel.  Around the page punch by Martha Stewart it the little window where the flower is peeking through.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday

Good morning! Sorry we have not been around lately.  Life has just been soooo busy for all of us! We try to get some crafting in, but it hasn't happened much!  I don't see it slow down much for me or the other ladies, but we will try out best to post.

I made this card for my Nephew who is turning 9 (so crazy he was just born) and he loves monsters. I thought the Mini-Monster Cart would be perfect for him!

My recipe:

Mini Monster Cart - pg 35 cut at 3.5"
DCWV - the cute monster paper - Doodling Around Stack
Wedding Cart - The cutge little banner cut at 2.5"
Nestabilities - Labels
The rest of the paper is from my stash (I love the different color google eyes, Kel's idea)

I will enter this card in this fun challenge, Kids Birthday Card Challenge!

More Birthday Fun

I made this birthday card and altered Altoid tin gift card holder for Laurie's little guy who turned 13 last week. They grow up too fast!

Card: So cute and so easy to make!

Hippo and balloons: Silhouette cut files (the balloons are pop-dotted)
Cuttlebug folders: Spots n Dots and Divine Swirls
13 letter stickers: stash
"Hippo Birthday" stamp: My Pink Stamper

Tin: Also so easy and the perfect size to hold a gift card! I covered the inside cover and bottom with paper, too. The paper and chipboard stickers were in my stash. (The stickers maybe MAMBI?)

Hope everyone is having a good week!

IT'S TIME TO ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS!

I went to a crop over the weekend and one of the projects I worked on was a book for my son.  He enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and hiking.  Here are a few pages.  I wanted to make a book that wasn't "cutsie"  LOL.  An 8x8 album is always a challenge for me.  I want it to look  full but not too full of embellies so I went to the Camp Out cartridge and just cut  a pile of  images and then as I laid out my pages I just added them in.

On the one above I just doodles around the pictures with a CM doodle template.  LOVE IT!  Here are some of the images from other pages too

Happy Easter!! Too cute!

Happy Friday everyone and Happy Easter. I can't believe Easter is this Sunday! So crazy how fast this year is going.

How cute are these little bags Kelly made as place cards for Easter Sunday dinner. I just love them.

Kell said, "These are two of a set of 8 treat bags I am doing for my Easter dinner table. I cut the little bag from Tags, Bags, and Boxes cartridge at 7" and the critters from Create a Critter  at 3".  They work up super fast and will be adorable around the table. "

We hope you all have a wonderful Easter.

Happy Easter - from your friends at SS, Kel, Laurie and Dawn
