January and February are full of birthdays around here. Here is an altered canvas that I made for a friend who is one of those birthdays. This is her pup, Juno and a sweet pup she is!

I started with painting the canvas with acrylic paints; added patterned paper from the DCWV Pets Stack, sanding the edges for texture; and then covered chipboard shapes with some other patterned paper from my stash and sanded those, too. The dog bone with the words around it was cut with the Cameo, using a file from the very talented Chirs Durnan at Visual Designs by Chris.

I wrapped it all up in a pretty organza ribbon and added some bling and a metal heart up in the corner. My friend did love it!

GETTING TO THE HEART OF THE HOLIDAY....

Here are my Valentines. I saw a similar idea on a site out here. I'm sorry I forget where. These guys came together pretty quickly. I used some pre-embossed white paper I had for the outside mat and inside mat. I then found some valentine-ish paper to cut into strips, I layered the inside mat and punched a boarder around it, I punched a heart from the punch shown there from MS and that was that. Simple and cute. I hope you like them!

Good morning everyone! Our Pats lost, so we are a bit somber here in the Northeast!! We will recover and be ok, lol! I decided to join in a challenge over at ScrapFit., http://scrapfit.blogspot.com/, they have a very talented design team over there and some fun challenges. This challenge is to start with a blank canvas. Using a white piece of cardstock as your starting point. I have to say I had a lot of fun with this one!! I used my glimmer mist, and a few different colors as well! I have a DCWV dog paper stack that a lot of the embellishments came from. The clock is Tim Holtz. This is our Golden Retriever, Lightning, sitting under the kitchen table, resting his head on the chair as he always does. My son thought it would be fun to get down there with him. DINNER ANYONE?

Here is a take out menu holder I made this weekend. I was cleaning up my kitchen and I had scads of menus EVERYWHERE.. In drawers, on top of shelves, hanging on the fridge. Sooo I happen to be in a store and saw these boxes that said "take out menu's" I thought they were cute so I ran home to copy the idea.. LOL. I took a Special K box, I cut it, covered it in paper and decorated it with paper and cuts from the Kitchen Cricut Cart. and Boom!, there it is. I used fabric strips to cover the edges to make them smooth sort of how the box was that I saw in the store. This works great because the fabric just wraps around the edges.

Here is a page I did at the recent crop I went to. It's of my little guy when he was at Prek. The dud is 19.. I guess I need to catch up on the scrapbooking.. LOL. I had fun with this page with the polka dot paper and the T.H. tape measure. The sparkly apples came from my stash and the apple was cut with the This and That CM cricut cartridge. Tthe letters are from CM too.

This card was a nice surprise from laurie! I just got a new job and she made this card for me to congrat me. I LOVE it. I absolutely love these colors scrapped together. The floral paper is flocked and that cute flower is felt. She used a cuttlebug plate to cut out the Congrats cut. I love the little pearls too! This was just so sweet. Thanks LAURIE!

As promised more baby boy 12x12 pages!! This is the kit I wasn't going to buy at Hobby Lobby and my friend Susan talked me into it, THANK YOU SUSAN!! This kit is so adorable and soooo easy to whip up pages with. Of course the crinkly ribbon is from over at Kimberly's blog and I love how versatile it is, boy, girl, it doesn't matter.

The page with the banner is my favorite page in the entire book, just a fun clean page and it it all from the kit, except the ribbon!.

I have finished my 3rd baby album! This one is a 12x12. Let me tell you this came together so quickly, more so than the 8x8. So weird.

For these two pages, my base is of course StampinUP! as well as the ribbon. The letter paper is from my stash and Sweet Boy and the diaper pin are cut from the Creative Memories Stork Cartridge. I have small little envelopes and I used one behind the photo frame and rubbed on a gift! I am so happy how t his album came out. I will show you more pages during the week.

Another Birthday card

Here is another birthday card I did. This one is for my Sister. Her birthday is in February, like my cousins, as is Dawn's. I can't show you Dawn's card until after her birthday. My sister love's pocketbooks, so again, my pre loaded cartridge came in handy! Again with the crinkly ribbon (ok so I have a problem) over at http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com/. This ribbon was white, so I ran it through my purple stamp pad so it would match. I used Happy Birthday folder and ran it through the cuttlebug and just inked over Happy Birthday, some perfect pearls and I was done. I am really kicking butt on February's cards!!!

Good morning Scrap ladies!! I feel like I haven't posted in forever! I hope everyone is doing well! While Kel was off on her awesome scrap weekend, I was down in the scrapcave creating! I made this card for my cousin who loves, loves shoes!! The shoe is cut from a preloaded cartridge for the Expression 2 called Alphabet,so figure they would call it that! Of course I had to add some crinkly ribbon that I bought over at http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com/. Her products are amazing and her prices are fantastic as well as customer service. I always get the products very quickly. You have to check out her blog, her work is amazing!!

The paper I used was from an old DCWV stack, if you look closely it talks about corsets and skirts, I thought how appropriate for the beautiful shoe. The inside stamp I absolutely love (how true) I have been dying to use this stamp for ever. I got this from Dawn's mother-in-law, Noni as everyone knew her as. She was an avid crafter and we are blessed enough to have inherited a lot of crafting items and get to put them to good use. I am sure she is smiling down on us.

HERE KITTY...KITTY....

Here is one of the LO's I did at my weekend crop. This is my cat Ocho. My son named him. I have no idea why he named her after the Spanish name for the number 8, LOL, but he did. We adopted him from a friend who does foster care for cats. This little guy was born of an unhealthy, beat up looking stray in her neighborhood and we just fell in love. He is healthy and happy now and runs and jumps in and out of anything and everywhere.. LOL. His favorite food is Peppers! Go figure! The crop I attended was sponsored by Creative Memories and I got this very easy layout idea from the CM Idea book. It's a must have, it's filled with. OOOODles of great ideas!! The letters and the paw print are cut from the CM THIS and THAT cartridge. I LOVE this cartridge!

Here is a page I did of my kids on their first day of school. Which year it is, I have no frikken idea.. LOL. I started scrapping when these guys were like 15 and 17, So, anything prior to 2009 is a blurr.. LOL. I did leave some space to journal in their ages and year, so I will do it. My daughter will know exactly when and where just by looking at her particular outfit and backpack. I at least journaled about how I love to take their picture under that particular tree and how they always looked so happy, etc.
I used the Creative Memories Page Planner book and found this layout. The book tells you exactly what papers , embellies and tools to use to duplicate it. Because I was at a CM crop, I was able to get up from my seat, turn around to the table and buy and use what I needed right there and then. It was awesome! I even have supply leftovers.. LOL

Here is a view from the hotel I stayed at in York, Maine for my weekend crop. It was a bit bizarre early in the morning. It looked as thought these thick heavy clouds were touching the ocean. That is Nubble Light Lighthouse in the distance. It was FREEZING out!
You can't have a crop without homemade woopie pies.. LOL. This entire pan was filled to the rim Friday night.. LOL This was taken Sunday a.m. Notice the healthy, untouched fruit to the side.. LOL.

Pocket Pages

I was trying to decide what to do with all the school work and birthday cards that I have saved over the last few years, as they are really starting to just be clutter sitting in the 12x12 box of "stuff" to be scrapped. Then, I came across an adorable pocket page that someone on the Silhouette Flickr group had posted.

I cut the front shapes out with the Cameo, attached those to6”x12” cardstock and then sewed the whole thing by machine to the base. I willembellish them more as I decide what is going in the pockets (school papers,bday cards, etc.). Quick, fun, easy and it will clean up my clutter. Yay!

ANOTHER BABY BOOK LAYOUT

The shower's have come and gone but I wanted to show one more layout that I didnt' get to post last week. The stamp was from Laurie's Fiskar's baby stamp, the paper was from my stash and the buttons from Lauries stash. I also used some of Laurie's scrunchie ribbon, that stuff is awesome! Hmm, so pretty much this is Laurie's layout.. LOL. On the right you can see half of a page. I used a MS border punch on some polka dot paper, added a ribbon and called it a day.. LOL. This week I'll be preparing for a weekend crop that I'm off to Saturday! So, I'll be sharing and looking for some packing tips for sure!!

We interupt baby week to bring you this absolutely adorable card that Dawn made, unfortunately, for my son who broke his clavicle. The little bow that she put on is where he broke it. The bow is made, I think, from bandage material. He thought this card was awesome! He is normally a snowboarder that thought he'd try skiing..YIKES, it didn't go well.. LOL.but this card definately cheered us all up! Love it Dawn!!!

Baby Week Day 4! Here is a page from my boy book. I was getting a bit tired off all blue so I went with the yellow and mint green. I saw this weaving idea from some ideas Laurie had printed off. I really thought it was different so I tried it and liked it. The cute little stamps on the side are part of the set Laurie got, I believe its by Fiskars.

I cut out Welcome Home from the Creative Memories Stork Cartridge, I just love this cartridge. The rest is from the kit! So fun!! I can't wait to give them the book!!

As promised, I finished my first page of the book. The new stamp set I got at Amazon was the perfect touch. I wanted my cousin and his wife to be able to record the date, time and weight and length of the baby on the page. I used some embellishments that came with the kit and I cut out the name Ava from the Creative Memories Stork Cartridge. Perfect pearls above the photo mat and some glitter pen here and there, and that pink heart stick pin, I have been dying to use and I finally go too!. Done! I love doing pink pages, I never get to, having two boys!!

No, it wasn't a natural disaster it was creative minds at work. Kel and I got together Friday night to work on our baby books, we had so much fun! At one point I looked at the table and said I need to take a picture of this for the blog, the ladies will never believe it! We did manage to crank out some pages that we will be showing you this week. Kel is doing boy and I am doing girl! The picture of the stamp sets are ones I bought on Amazon.come and I love them! I swear between Kel and me we used them all in one night.

Hello Everyone!! As promised here are some pages from my album. These are actually Page 2 and 3. I am still working on page one. So I figure they can have a picture of baby and mom and dad and baby. I made the picture frames 4x6, double matted them and I used the All Mixed Up Cartridge for the letters. I have page 4 and 5 complete as well. I will show those tomorrow.

Working on a baby girl album

Good morning! I usually don't use an album kit, actually this is the first time I bought one. When we went up to Hobby Lobby over the weekend, they had this for 14.99 and I had a 40% off coupon. I thought the album alone is worth that and I don't have much time to get this done. The shower is the 14th of January.

The papers and the embellishment are so cute. I figure I can add some of my own. I will be showing you the pages as I do them.

Any helpful hints would be appreciated!!!

Cousin Page

Happy 2012 Everyone! Here is a page I did of my son and my niece. Believe it or not, they are only 2 weeks apart. My son is 5'10" and my niece is probably 5'3". They are super close and they get along great I love it!!!

I was inspired by this page over at Nic Howard's blog, http://nichoward.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/12/last-days-of-2011.html . She has classes over at Big Picture Classes, http://www.bigpictureclasses.com/ and I took one of her classes and I was blown away. She has such amazing talent. If you have a chance you should really check her out.

I used some Tim Holtz' product on this page and the base brown is from Core'dinations. If you ask Kel she may say I have an addiction to it (I don't think so, I just LOVE it)!! The circle image is cut from Accent Essentials. The tickets and the tape measure are Tim as well as the paper underneath the picture. The lace is Graphic 45, again another small addiction I may or may not have.

I would still like to add some more things on the bottom, just not sure what yet.

Magical Memories

Good morning and Happy 2012! We hope that you had a fun and safe New Years and that 2012 has started out fantastic for everyone!

One of my 2012 goals is to get our trip to Disney scrapped before a year since we went has passed. That gives me till July. I started this weekend with making the album cover.

I used a 12x12 Modern album from American Crafts. I love these albums because they are made of heavy chipboard that you can decorate yourself. Right when we got home from the trip, I got a ton of papers and supplies from Scrap Your Trip. It really is an amazing site for all things vacation! I also got some supplies from scrapbook.com. To start, I laid down the base papers and inked up the edges with black ink. I cut the big Mickey ears out of patterned paper with my Cameo that I got for Christmas. The "2011" is a die cut from Scrap Your Trip and the bottle caps and title sticker are from EK Success.

I am going to keep this out in plain view in the scrap attic. Hopefully, this will inspire me to keep going and get this trip scrapped before July!

ROAD TRIP!

Good morning everyone!! Can you believe tomorrow is New Years Eve? So crazy another year gone!! I thought what better way to ring in the new year than with a baby card! My cousin's wife is expecting and due in February,obviously they are having girl and her name is Ava. I cute the little onesie from Stork's Delivery (Creative Memory cartridge). Swiss dots folder for the back ground paper, I inked that up. Ribbon from my stash. The name Ava is also cut from the Stork cartridge.

The thank you card is for a woman that I work with that made me two huge trays of delicious cookies, so yummy!!! I cut the gift card holder from Tags, Boxes and and More, pg 112 cut at 8" The thank you stamp is from StampingUP!, Alphabet soup and the Thanks a bunch in the corner is from My Creative Time, Many greetings set. The white flower is from StampinUP! as well.

RIBBON TREE

This is just a fantastic tree that my daughter Amanda made. Omgosh. How we got here is quite a story.

I had orginally wanted to make these ornament trees I had seen. I shared the idea with our friend Susan. Now SHE wanted to make them. Sooo.. both of us were out in two different directions all day trying to find the ornaments we needed and store after store, text after text.. we failed miserably. We finally met up to try and put one together at my house with the supplies we both got. We were ON a mission.. let's just say...EPIC fail.. LOL . sooo.. meanwhile, Amanda's on the computer looking up crafts and she comes across this ribbon tree idea. Well.. we get so excited off we went to Micheals to get all the materials. I failed miserably and I need to make a few revisions.. LOL. So I will show you mine when I finish.. But, I had to show hers off.. she did a GREAT JOB!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas Everyone! I'm sitting here alone in my living room. It's so dang quiet. I kind of smiled and laughed to myself a second ago, and wondered how my kids got so big. It feels like it wasn't too long ago that by now they would have tore into every wrapped gift under the tree! Now at 17 and 19 they are happy to be able to sleep in and have a day off from school and work.

I miss seeing the half eaten tray of cookies and milk that Santa ate and the pitter patter of Santa feety pajamas racing down the stairs, but, I do like this quiet too...aaaahaaa! I'm imagining all the neighbors kids screeching with delight as they tear, rip and possibly cut their way into the treasures Santa left them. The light up toys, trucks, fancy dolls and their amazing smiles that light up the room!

I'll get that soon, but it will be different now. My two will probably take showers before they decend, in fear that I will have the camera waiting for them down here. And goodness knows, we can't have bed head and mis matched pj's in any layouts mom will do... LOL. And as far as treasures Santa certainly didn't forget them .. And.....awww, we have each other, and we are grateful to finally be in a place we can call home after all our troubles and moving, in a neighborhood full of caring, loving families that have welcomed us with open arms.

Hmmm... it's not so quiet here now, there is the faint sound of my youngest walking towards my room looking for me.....Here we go! :) Merry Christmas all!

Good morning everyone. First of all, big props to Dawn and her wall art!! Amazing work!!Here are two more cards we did in the swap. Don't look too closely at the first one, embossing is NOT my strong suit!! LOL. The first one is done with little punched out leaves. The woman that prepared the card said she punched out hundreds of leaves, it took her forever! It came out so cute and so easy to put together. I hope everyone is done shopping!!! Have a great day!

Hi, sorry such a late post, I actually started this, then I had to walk away for a sec, 7 hrs. ago.. lol and never got back to it till now.. LOL Any..way...

These AMAZING wall hangings by Dawn. I wanted to get this up before Christmas. I've seen these in person and WOW they really are gorgeous. Dawn made the black framed one for herself and the other from her mom. This is so beautiful in fact, that I ran across the street with paper in hand asking her to cut the scallops for me from her Silhouette... LOL. I just HAVE to make one for myself. Within an hour Dawn had cut all the pieces from the Silhouette and I had cut all the other pieces using her paper trimmer! Now hopefully I can begin my construction tonight! There are a few more things that go into this piece, so I will take pictures along the way.

Hiya folks. Here are two xmas cards I did for Dawn and Laurie. I was cruisin' around the digistamps sites and just HAD to get this one. He's just soooo dang cute.. LOL. I colored them with COPICS. I really need to get practicing. I don't use them as much as I'd like to, but did my best. I kept the card itself pretty simple, layering some papers and using some SU stamps. I'm working on one now for another friend of ours Susan. I found this awsome Holly Fairy digi I will use. I'll get that up asap. Have a good one!

Non Traditional Christmas Card

Here is how the conversation went. I asked my son what his teacher's favorite animal was. I said pick one from one of my Cricut Cartridges and I will make him a card for Christmas. He said his favorite is the shark. He loves, loves sharks. I said, I don't think that will make such a great Christmas card. He said, put a Santa hat on him. So that is what I did. Here is the finished project, lol!! Shark cut from Life's a Beach and Santa hat from Everyday Paper Dolls!! Too funny!!

Fun Christmas Cards and the Giveway

Good Friday morning! I hope everyone had a great and productive week. I was busy working on my son's project that is due today. Didn't get much else done! I need to get on the Christmas shopping!!

Here are two cards we did in the shoebox swap we did about a month back. I loved both of the them. The snowman comes from our friend Susan and I am not sure where the second came from. I love the look of both of them. Unfortunately we don't have any details as the cards were already pre-cut and put into a baggie and we just put them together.

A FRIENDLY CARD & A GIVEAWAY

I was looking through my stash of card that I've gotten from different swaps looking for a friend card for a friend that has been terrific to me lately and I came across these two that I liked. The green one was done by a friend of ours Tara who is a Stampin' Up rep. I like her simple, but very pretty layout. I think this is a great layout for just about any subject card. Good morning! I hope you got some scrapping in last nigh! I started on my Christmas cards and got 16 done, but I have enough cut out for 40, so that is half the battle. Dawn and I were texting while scraping last night, as she called it, we were virtually crafting. She too was working on her cards. Kel was working on some beautiful homemade garland made out of fabric. I can't wait to see that finished.

Happy, happy Friday!! I am sooo happy its Friday and I finally came up with my Christmas card. I wanted to make it simple so I could just whip them up. I used Kraft cardstock as the base and and red and green card stock. Snowflake cuttlebug folder for the red and the trees are cut on core'dinations paper using the Designer Calendar cartridge. I then sanded the trees to give them a worn look. A strip of Christmas paper from my stash, ink it up and a stamp from my stash too and it's done. Oh yeah and some bling (Kel's idea, thanks, Kel!)

Kel and I are feeling very generous and trying to get into the Christmas spirit, so we thought a giveway would help us. ALL you have to do is comment on this post that is it! Easy right!! Hello Scrappers! Here is a cute Bday card that my sister-in-law sent me. I love the warm fall colors she used! It's simple and pretty. I love the flower she use, it's 3-d, and it looks so real!. She knows that after I showcase this card for a while on my counter that I will nicely pull it apart and "re-scrap" the embellies! We have fun sending cards back and forth with embellies of previous cards we've sent each other. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's MY ribbon! LOL.

Happy Tuesday!!! This month is just flying by. I hope everyone is doing ok with their Christmas shopping and of course card making!!

I made this card for my mother-in-law. She lives in El Salvador, so I mailed this about about a week ago, as it will take at least three weeks to get to her.

I used the Doodlecharms Cartridge for the trees and presents. I had some star stickers in my stash that I added to the tree. I have a StampingUP stamp set that I used for the Feliz Navidad stamp. This was an easy one to put together!
I stickled up the star to give it some shine. I went over the Feliz Navid with a glitter pen.

I am still in search of the perfect card to make for my Christmas cards this year. I am having a tough, tough time!!

Good morning everyone! I am trying to figure out what my Christmas card will be this year. I am not having luck with this year's card.

Here is the card I did. I used the Martha Stewart punch around the page scalloped square punch. I just used scraps for the strips of paper on the bottom. I used and Fiskar's snowflake border bunch and some red and white twine.

The stamp is from my stash. I pop dotted the Christmas Tree's. Trees are cut from the Designer Calendar cartridge.

As promised here is the card I made for Kelly. I stepped so far out of my box, I wasn't sure where I was. I saw a tutorial on line and said over and over in my head,I can do this. Here is the link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASvhjIvn9PQ&feature=related Those that know me, know measuring is NOT my strong point. Actually it's no point for me. But I kept saying I can do it and I did (I won't tell you how long it took me, but I did it).

Two of Kelly's most favorite things are coffee and music. So I wanted to incorporate both int he card. So I cut the coffee mug out and then I used my Tim Holtz music folder for two pieces as well. If haven't already guess Kelly's favorite color is purple. Believe or not this card fits into a normal size envelope. I tried to get a normal shot of the card, but that didn't work out so well.

Here is the card opened up in all its purple glory.

Under the 22 I used the Tim Holtz music folder and inked it up and put the #22 over it.

Kel and I have been friends since Freshman year in High School and we have been through a lot together. Kel is an amazing person, strong woman, awesome Mom and a true friend. She is the first person to make you laugh! Her sense of humor always keeps us going.

Outside the Layout Day 2

Good morning fellow bloggers! Hope all is well I can't believe Thanksgiving is Thursday. Wow this month flew by.

Here is a project that my son did on Sir Isaac Newton. We started with a shoe box and then our imaginations just ran. We cut out the trees from the Cricut and the "Sir Isaac Newton" doll was cut out from the Cricut. See the Cricut is not just for scrapbooking and cards. I was so happy to show this to my hubby and prove that the Cricut is a wonderful tool, lol.

We found a chipboard like ornament and my son painted it red. He came up with the clever idea to write the formula around the apple (the teacher thought that was a great idea).

My hubby and son came up with the idea to have the apple fall. The stuck a toothpick in the top of the box and when you pulled the toothpick out the apple fell.

We also used some patterned paper for the grass as well as for the clouds in the back ground. It really was a fun and easy project.

Notice to the right of the project it the card Dawn made us for Halloween, didn't plan that, lol!!

I did these cute little die cut-outs for my class in school. I thought i had a picture of them up, but I can't find it. SHOCKING that I can't find anything.. LOL yaaaaa right! Anyway, I'll take a shot of them up on the bulletin board and post. It's really fun to be able to use Cricut for work and avoid having to pay through the nose for classroom decorations! Plus, everybody just loves the fact that they are homemade. And, we all know those non-scrappers that are just floored that this can even be possible.. LOL. So, get out there and use your scrap-talents and decorate something other than a layout or card and tell us about it. We would love to hear what your up to!

I wanted to thank 2 great people that have been very helpful to me and my family over the last few months. It was sort of half business and half personal so I wanted to just do a simple card, and this is what I came up with. I used Martha Stuart's scoring board to make the envelopes and MS edger for the top of the card. The card is made with some stamping up papers and a stamping up stamp.

Here's a few pics that were taken at completly different times, but I liked them because they are of the 4 of us and everybody is actually smiling.. LOL I love to look back at my kids when they were just wee little ones. They used to JUMP in front of the camera with huge smiles. Now, yikes, you gotta pin em' down to get a shot.. LOL. Anyway, I saw this layout idea in a Page Map book and really liked it. I have so much twine and string and stuff and never use it, so here it is. I had gotten the paper clips from Staples. They have this little area in which they have buckets of all different kinds of paper clips. From cat shaped, to guitar shaped to dotted.. to colored.. All kinds. You fill a small clear bucket for like $3 bucks. It was fun to put them use!

Here is a great great layout that Dawn did for me a few years back. I love the colors.. I love how she cut out the circle prints and pop dotted them up.. Clever!

The picture was taken at Laurie's 4th of July party. I had no idea she took it. She suprised me with it ! I've displayed it in my house everyday since, I absolutely love it and I get compliments on it all the time . My husband is diabetic and has stage 4 kidney failure and struggles a lot with it and has to endure dialysis 4 days a week, and many times when he gets down, and we worry about the future, I'll look at that picture and read the quote. "Grow old with me, the best is yet to be" Thanks Dawn.

1st Day of School - The bus stop

Hello again!!! I did this page of my boys getting on the bus on the first day of school. Technically it was the second day, but for page purposes I am going with the 1st day.

The little pendants are again from Jenny B. She is my favorite lately.

The pencil paper and the other papers are all from my stash. I really need to start using more of my stash.

My scrapbooking has been all over the place lately. I have just been scrapping pages I feel like doing!!

Are you ready for some Football??

My son is a Junior in High School and he plays for his school team. He loves, loves football. This was the first game of the season under the lights.

The grid above the picture is a rub-on from Jenny Bowlin. I love me so Jenny. The rest of the embellishments are from my football stash (let me tell you my football stash is two full draws of stuff!!).

When I printed out the pics, I printed them from Photoelf and I added a mask around each picture to give it a softer look.

I loved this picture of him as he looks so serious about his football business!!

Christmas Card

Good morning, as promised here is my card I made for the swap. The cards should be fairly easy as we have to make 12 in one night.

I started with Kraft Paper (the brown), inked that up. Added the red after I ran it through the snowflake cuttlebug folder. The green paper is Core'dinations, sanded down a bit to add texture.

The white strip of Xmas trees was from my stash. I cut out an xmas tree from Create a Critter and a little bakers twin e and done!! So easy!! I am dying to see what the other ladies make. We will be sure to show them to you when do them. We are going on November 10th.

Hi Everyone! Hope everyone survived Halloween and didn't eat too much candy!!

Dawn, our friend Susan, and I are in a shoebox swap. There are 12 ladies involved. So what we have to do come up with a Christmas card and then make enough cards for 12 people. You bag up each card individually and with all the pieces. The the shoe-boxes are put on around the table in different spots. You sit down at a shoebox, pull out one baggie and make up your card. You walk out with 12 already made cards! So much fun and a great way to get a head start on Christmas cards. I decided to fancy up my shoebox. I used all chipboard cut outs from a cheap Xmas kit I bought a long time ago!

Good morning Ladies!! So happy to be posting again! Happy Halloween!!! Here is a page I did of my now 11 year old son. He was 1.5 years old in this picture. I am sure when he is older he will kill me for putting him in this Winnie the Pooh costume. I just can't stand how cute he is!!

For this page, I used mostly paper!! Dawn and I bought a bunch of Halloween paper last year and I really haven't used much of it, so I thought I would pull it out and start using it!! The tag is from a tag swap we did last year!

More SVG Fun

Happy Friday! I have found a new obsession: SVG cuts. They are so much fun to cut and put together and there are a ton of them out there; some free, some for purchase. And you don't necessarily need an electronic cutting machine to use them. Some can be printed and cut by hand.

SVG Cuts has some amazing files. I can't wait to play with some of them. I plan on making the Family banner from their Thanksgiving Dinner Kit and will share with you when I do! Lettering Delights also has a ton of great files. Oh boy. This could definitely lead to needing a bigger hard drive! Google SVG files and you will find a ton of inspiration and will see what I mean!

Fabric Cutting

Here is a little fabric owl that I cut with my Silhouette and then sewed together. I used the fabric interfacing available at the Silhouette online store, but I have read on other blogs that people have used regular fabric interfacing and cut all sorts of fabric things with their Cricut. I am not a very good sewer, but he wasn't too hard and is oh-so-cute in real life. His eyes are buttons that I got at Joann Fabrics. We would love to hear about and see any fabric creations that you have made!

So true, Grandma! I used this quote for a layout of our family on a flume ride at Canobie Lake Park. I love all the expressions on our faces, all of us thrilled. Not every day is as thrilling, but that's OK. Life is a ride and I like the roller coaster. :)

Wordle

Here is a fun (free!) tool that we found! Wordle allows you to type in any text and the create a word cloud from it. You can play with the cloud and use different colors, fonts and layouts. You can then print your cloud out to use on a layout or card. They even have an online gallery for inspiration! Here is a quick layout that I did using a Wordle cloud that I created. Fun! The great cowboy cuts were from Laurie's dad, "Pa", for a swap that we did a while back here on SS.

Halloween Mini Album

Happy Friday!! I just had to show off this awesome mini album that my friend, Carol from Boston Area Scrap Fanatics made for me! The details that she put into it are amazing! She told me that the rat on the cover came from a pair of Halloween earrings that she had. How cool is that? The bat on the cover is made from feathers. The last page has an accordian pull out to fit 6 pictures. I can't wait to fill this up with images of my little goblins!

Vamped Out

Here is a page I did for my daughter Amanda. She is so into the whole vampire thing and more specifially, the show "The Vampire Diaries", and this is one her favorite characters. Her room is pretty much "vamped" out, so she asked me to do a page to add to the collection. This is was fun to do. This is a cute little treat box that I made using the Silhouette. This file cuts with all the little perforation marks, so folding it up was super easy. The Witch Hazel label was printed off the internet and then run through the Silhouette to cut it out, using the Trace feature. The skull inside is a Silhouette Print and Cut file. Now, how to keep my little Goblins from eating all the candy before Halloween gets here?

This is my daughter when she was a lil younger at York Beach in Maine. They've grown up playing at this beach. I didn't get too fancy scrapping these pics, I got the idea from "Page Maps 2". I thought it was kinda cool how they had the cardstock colors the same and just defined them by inking the edges, so I thought I'd try it. I like how it came out.

The Silhouette cutting machine has a neat feature called Print & Cut. Basically, you choose a shape from their library, print it on your regular home printer and then send it back through the Silhouette, which cuts it out for you! My kids love Bugs Bunny and his friends and Silhouette recently added Looney Tunes shapes to their library! Yay - more lunch box surprises! You can't tell in these scans because I mounted them on white paper, but the images were actually cut out with the Silhouette. I was amazed at the accuracy of the cutting, especially since my past endeavors with Print & Cut hadn't gone very well. Silhouette updated their software recently and the P&C feature must have been one of the fixes, because these cut perfectly! DD got Sylvester, DS got Marvin, DH got Pepe; I am saving Michigan for another round. I wish I could be a fly on the wall to see how the kids and hubby react to them! I'm such a goof.

Happy Hump Day, crafters! It was soooo good to see Kelly, Laurie and Susan on Friday night. We had lots of fun! I played with vinyl all night, making some cuts for my DD's bedroom walls. Laurie let me use her E2, so that I could make nice big images. I used the Rock Princess cartridge for all the cuts - such a cute cart! I picked fun, tween colors, instead of going with tradional colors. I got them a while ago from our friend Nick at Craft Vinyl. They have great colors and all sorts of sizes from which to choose. All the images layered easily. I think that I forgot some layers on the motorcycle chick; I am going to have to take a look at it again. But DD loves them, and that's what counts!

Here's a quick LO I did over at Laurie's house last Friday. I haven't really been scrapping much as most of my scrapping things are still in boxes from moving twice over the summer. However, I did dig through and find a few things to work with. This is my son's 1st bday. He just turned 19 in August, I'm a bit behind in my scrapping.. LOL!!! Altered Frame

Good morning, crafty friends! It is a beautiful, crisp fall morning here in the Boston area. But you know what they say about the weather around here; if you don't like it, wait a minute. They say it is going to be 75-80 on Saturday!

Today I am showing you a frame that I made a while ago for a scrappy acquaintance who's dad had just passed away. I had her in an altered item swap and was hoping that when she was ready, she could use it for a picture of her dad. I am bringing it back up now because I just recently saw this friend at an event and she thought to bring the frame - with her dad's picture in it - to show me. I was so touched that she liked it enough to use it to display a great picture of her dad and that she wanted to show it to me. Our hobby is so important for passing on memories, but it can even be important in the healing process of the difficult memories. It is one of the reasons that I love it. Knowing that my friend will smile looking at her picture of her dad in a frame that I made for her warms my heart.

I just never wrote down where I found the inspiration! So, if you know who's it is, please give them a shout out! The house and the shield behind it were cut with the Silhouette. The shield is embossed with my Cuttlebug Bloom Dots folder and inked with Ranger Distress Ink Vintage Photo. The key is Tim Holtz Grungeboard inked with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalking ink in Blue Hawaiian. I cut the edge of the roof with some old fashioned decorative scissors and the sparkles are Stickles, of course. Patterned paper and tulle ribbon were in my stash. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Getting Misty

Good morning! I have been playing with my Glimmer Mists a lot lately. I only have 4 bottles, but they are getting a work out. I was inspired by the challenge over at Use Your Stuff last week, especially Joy's card where she made a mask with her Silhouette and then used Glimmer Mist on it. I have been dying to try that! I found a gate cut that I liked and cut it out at 5" square. It was hard weeding out some of the pieces where the design swirls, but I took my time and it was worth it. I used a repositionable spray adhesive to hold it on to the light orange-yellow card stock and them misted it with GM Coffee Shop. Once it dried, I distressed and inked the edges of that piece, as well as the orange piece with Memento Tuxedo Black. The stickers are Miss Elizabeth that I have had forever. The bling is Imaginence iRock candy. The flower and brad were in my stash, too. I loved this technique and now I want to try it on a layout! Have a great day!

Hello Everyone!!! Oh how I have missed you all!!! It feels good to post again!!

I had to post this project Kel and I did last night. My family and I are HUGE football fans. My older guy plays high school football and we NEVER miss a Patriots game My husband came home with this little camping table, so we could put our snacks on it during the game. We don't have a coffee table in our living room. He saw a Patriots table in one of the sporting goods stores, but couldn't find it when he was ready to buy one.

I said, oh, I can make us a great Patriots table. So Kel and I got busy with Vinyl and this what we came up with. I had already cut out the flags, so that was easy. The helmets are from Sports Mania and the letters are from Alphalicious (I think). I was so happy with the outcome.
Here is a close up of the letters and the helmet. Number 12 is Tom Brady our awesome Quarterback. I have to say the Gents in my house did love the outcome as well.

Kel and I had a great time making this and lots of laughs as well.

Collages

I love to take pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. I probably take too many pictures. And I know you don't have to scrap all your pictures, but sometimes I want to scrap them all for certain things. But I don't want to make 6 or 8 layout pages for one event, either. Enter Scrapbooks Etc digital collages. These digital templates are fun and easy to use, if you are familiar with Photoshop Elements or other photo editing software that uses layers. They have many styles and formats in their templates, so each creation can look different. After getting all your pictures in place, you can print your collage out at home or send it off to be printed. Many online printing services offer odd size prints, like 10x10 for printing the square templates. My favorite is Mpix. No worries if you don't know or have Photoshop Elements, tho; you can create your own collage in many photo editing software packages. Laurie and my favorite is PhotoElf and Rick gives the BEST customer service!

I created this layout using one of the square Scrapbooks Etc collage templates. I made it 8x8, so I was able to print it out right at home. Patterened paper is Rusty Pickle and We R Memory Keepers. The adorable paper piecings were made by my good friend Judy by hand. Check out her other awesome stuff on her blog Pieces of Me.

The Hulk

Happy Thursday! Well, I am happy to report that the Angry Birds die cuts were a hit! As a matter of fact, my daughter's friend asked if I would make her a red one. Gotta love it when the friends help make you look cool.
Today, I am sharing a layout that was fun and quick to make. It was for a sketch challenge on the message board that I visit. This is my son, pretending to be The Hulk (with donut all over his face). He used to tense up his little body and shake when we would ask him to do it. Cracked us up every time. I think that this was the only picture I ever got of him doing it, as he caught on to us laughing at him pretty quickly and stopped doing it after a few times. I am so glad that I got this picture, tho, so we can show him what a ham he was. All supplies from my stash. I think the cool background paper is from a Me & My Big Ideas stack, but I don't don't know the name. The title is chipboard Thickers, painted with acrylic, as it the chipboard T. The Hulk image was printed from the internet. Have a great day!

Die Cut Fun

I am a fun mom. OK, I think so anyway. I think nothing of jumping out of the car in the driveway if there is a good song on the radio and dancing on the front lawn. The children run onto the porch in horror, but I see them watching and laughing at me from up there. I do random silly things, like tackle my children and blow a big ol'e bronski on their bellies. I will get down in the sand at the beach and make a sand castle with them or dig for worms in the back yard. I also love to put notes in their lunch boxes for school (much to the chagrin of the 11 year old - "Moooommmmm! My friends saw it!") Both my kids love Angry Birds, so, when I saw Norma's Angry Bird Treat Bag at PinkBlingCrafter, I knew what the next fun mom thing was going to be! I don't have all the punches that she has, but I do have a Silhouette and Google. (Laurie has dubbed me Google Queen. I can find anything on it.) I found some cute Angry Bird SVG files over at The Lady Wolf's Free SVGs, very stealthily asked the children which bird was their favorite and got to creating these cute little guys. I wrote a note to each of them on the back of the birds in white Signo pen. (THE best white pen evah!)

I hope they bring smiles to their little faces today. They sure made me smile!

Totally Hip

Good Tuesday morning! It is feeling like summer again here in the NorthEast; 80 degrees yesterday and in the 70's today. My poor mums are so confused; they like the cool weather and don't know whether to pop open or not! You can see them in the picture that I used for a challenge over at Use Your Stuff. This is a fun new blog that my friend, Lynne, contributes to. For this challenge, you had to use Orange, Pink, Green, Yellow and Blue all in the same layout. My DD dressed as a hippie for Halloween last year and her costume had just about every color in it! I used paper from the We R Memory Keepers Nonsense stack that was a perfect match to her costume, embossed the orange paper with the Cuttlebug Bloom Dots folder and inked it, then added a transparency flourish (I think from Fancy Pants?) and a few retro buttons from my stash. I cut the flower shape on the Silhouette by enlarging it to 10" and then used the cutting tool in the software to chop it in half before actually cutting it out. I can't wait for the 12" Silhouette to come out to be able to cut full 12" shapes! Hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday!

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours was super busy and too fast, as usual. I did get some scrappy time in, so not all was lost. :) Of course, scrappy time means that there was a mess to clean up afterwards. I love cleaning the scrap room and finding things that I forgot about. Like this LO that I started in a Quick Quotes Class at CKC Manchester last spring. There was a challenge on a message board that I visit to use the word "flounce" and there is a challenge at Frosted Designs to use mixed fonts on a project. (Can you tell that I love challenges? LOL!) The end result has several different fonts on the title, the subtitle, the journaling block, plus my handwriting:

Haunted Design House Challenge

A Saturday post to get a challenge in on time! I just love Halloween. There is something about dressing up as whoever or whatever you want that just makes me smile. And oh, all the great decorating possibilities! Imagine my delight when Kelly told me about the Haunted Design House blog. All Halloween, all the time! The talent of the DT minions over there is incredible! I usually just oogle and comment on the challenges over there, but this week, the starts aligned on one of their challenges for me. This week's challenge, Appalling Apothecary looked so fun and it just so happens that the free Silhouette file of the week was a jar! It's Friday!!! Hooray!!! It sure took it's sweet time getting here this week, didn't it?

Today, I am entering a card over at Squigglefly. If you haven't visited them and love digi stamps, you need to go get over there soon! They have the most adorable little images that are fun and easy to color. Try one of their freebies and I promise, you will want more of their stuff!

Born This Way

Good Thursday morning!! It is a rainy morning here in New England, but still warm. I loved sleeping with the windows open last night and hearing the rain.

So, you have heard Laurie and Kel talk about "it is all about the story". I agree; journaling is very important in scrapbooking so that when future generations look at your albums, they not only know the who, what, where and when, but the why. But sometimes, just the picture tells the story. That was the case with this shot of my son at soccer practice. Anyone who knows him, knows what I am talking about. :) I made this LO for a lyrics challenge on a message board that I visit and used lyrics from Lady Gaga's "Born This Way".

And really, that is all that needed to be said for this layout. Family and friends will know exactly what I was trying to say when they look at this picture. And they will smile.

Back To Basics

I used to be a chronological scrapper. I had to finish May 2003 pictures before I could start June 2003 pictures, finish June 2003 before I could start July 2003, etc. But recently, I have found myself grabbing my newer pictures, inspired by the picture itself or by something I saw in a magazine or online for which I knew I had just taken the *perfect* shot. I also realize that I remember a lot more about the pictures or the event if I scrap right away. But I also have a LOT of older pictures that I want to make sure to get in albums. So, last night, I decided to work on a layout that I had put into a page kit for a crop eons ago. I already had everything cut out and ready to go, I just needed some inspiration to complete it. The cool fall weather did the trick, I guess! These pictures are from Thanksgiving 2006. I can't believe how little everyone looks and that it was just 5 short years ago. So many things have happened and changed since then. But it was fun to scrap these and think back to that Thanksgiving. It makes me all warm and mushy. I think I will grab a nice glass of apple cider, some more old pictures and settle in for more mushy scrapping soon. After all, I still need to scrap Christmas 2006! ;)

Christmas Wall Art

I attended a class over the weekend on making a Christmas Wall Art, based on the work of Lynette Carroll. The girl who taught it had been to one of LC's classes and wanted to show us how to make one. She had everything all precut for us, so I can't give you details on sizes and such, but oh, this was sooo fun and easy to make and it came out gorgeous. I know she said the papers were from GCD Studios. I ran to Michaels with my coupons Sunday night to get the frame for it and will be making another one on my own for my mom for Christmas. I will share deets when I do!
