After deciding what papers I wanted to use, I matched some acrylic paints to them and painted the edges of the canvas. After the paint dried, I cut my papers to the sizes that I wanted and glued them down, using my ATC gun. (I tried Mod Podge, but it buckled the heavy paper too much.) Conveniently, the paper was already distressed on the edges. Once the paper was down, I decided where I wanted the clock face to go and used a paper piercing tool to start the hole. Then, I gently pushed the clock mechanism through the hole from the back. The canvas tore just enought that the hole got big enough. I secured the mechanism with glue dots on the back, so it was more stable. I put the hands on and added all sorts of embellishments (brads, buttons, charms, flowers, ribbon, Stickles, chipboard) by using the paper piercing tool and more glue dots. The frames were pewter ones from Making Memories that really didn't match, so I painted them with acrylic paint and Stickles, letting the patterns beneath come through. I cut the title with my Silhouette and ran it through my Xyron to glue it down. The final touch was a piece of the patterned paper on the left cut out and glued on the right to tie the two sides together. And there you have it! A one of a kind present that is pretty easy to do!bonkdawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10811492155239094359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-242664875443790499.post-9073817085679360082010-05-28T09:46:40.300-04:002010-05-28T09:46:40.300-04:00Beautiful.
