THE ONE THAT DIDN"T GET AWAY

This is an AMAZING canvas that Dawn did for her brother. I just LOVE the colors and the papers. I think that is quite a catch he's got there. I am digging the embellies of the canoe, the fly, pole and the worms! Too cute! What a spectacular gift Dawn has made here, just fantastic!

CRAFTY WALL HANGING

Here is a Baby Girl wall hanging Dawn did that started with a kit from Kellers Creations. Dawn added some special touches of her own. The bright pinks, greens and oranges are just awesome together. I just love this for a gift idea!

LIGHTHOUSE BIRTHDAY CARD

Here is a gorgeous card that Dawn did for me for my birthday. I'm such a lover of lighthouses and the beach. Our family spends a lot of time up north in Maine by the coast, so this was a perfect image to put on my bday card. I think the colors are spectac! and I love the little flowers. Thanks so much Dawn.

Happy day after Kel's birthday and day before Thanksgiving!!

As promised here is the card I made for Kelly. I stepped so far out of my box, I wasn't sure where I was. I saw a tutorial on line and said over and over in my head,I can do this. Here is the link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASvhjIvn9PQ&feature=related Those that know me, know measuring is NOT my strong point. Actually it's no point for me. But I kept saying I can do it and I did (I won't tell you how long it took me, but I did it).

Two of Kelly's most favorite things are coffee and music. So I wanted to incorporate both int he card. So I cut the coffee mug out and then I used my Tim Holtz music folder for two pieces as well. If haven't already guess Kelly's favorite color is purple. Believe or not this card fits into a normal size envelope. I tried to get a normal shot of the card, but that didn't work out so well.

Here is the card opened up in all its purple glory.

Under the 22 I used the Tim Holtz music folder and inked it up and put the #22 over it.

Here is how small the card actually is.

We hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!!!

Outside the Layout Day 2

Good morning fellow bloggers! Hope all is well I can't believe Thanksgiving is Thursday. Wow this month flew by.

Here is a project that my son did on Sir Isaac Newton. We started with a shoe box and then our imaginations just ran. We cut out the trees from the Cricut and the "Sir Isaac Newton" doll was cut out from the Cricut. See the Cricut is not just for scrapbooking and cards. I was so happy to show this to my hubby and prove that the Cricut is a wonderful tool, lol.

We found a chipboard like ornament and my son painted it red. He came up with the clever idea to write the formula around the apple (the teacher thought that was a great idea).

My hubby and son came up with the idea to have the apple fall. The stuck a toothpick in the top of the box and when you pulled the toothpick out the apple fell.

We also used some patterned paper for the grass as well as for the clouds in the back ground. It really was a fun and easy project.

Notice to the right of the project it the card Dawn made us for Halloween, didn't plan that, lol!!

Have a great day.

THINK OUTSIDE THE LAYOUT

I did these cute little die cut-outs for my class in school. I thought i had a picture of them up, but I can't find it. SHOCKING that I can't find anything.. LOL yaaaaa right! Anyway, I'll take a shot of them up on the bulletin board and post. It's really fun to be able to use Cricut for work and avoid having to pay through the nose for classroom decorations! Plus, everybody just loves the fact that they are homemade. And, we all know those non-scrappers that are just floored that this can even be possible.. LOL. So, get out there and use your scrap-talents and decorate something other than a layout or card and tell us about it. We would love to hear what your up to!

Well THIS certainly beats porridge!

Here is an incredibly awesome card by Dawn. She got the image from squigglefly and used her Copics to color it in. I just love all the great fall colors on the papers, and those lil bears are just TOO cute! From the look on their faces, I doubt Goldilocks will get a wing! LOL

TURKEY LURKEY!

Here is a fun card I did for Thanksgiving,, but used sort of non traditional colors staying away from oranges and yellows, but blue's and browns. I went for the Z fold style, I thought it came out fun. The turkey is from create a critter and the inside tag is a punch from Creative memories.

PRICELESS!

Quite a few pieces of DCWV paper.............. $4.00

Nearly a whole package of glue dots............... $3.00

Having my 19 year old son agree with me that playing with paper and glue is fun............. PRICELESS

LOL. Here is my son's halloween mask... a Rubix cube.! He really had fun making it, and was quite impressed at the quality of paper and adhesive.. he LOVED running the glue dots down the side of the box. His words were "hey mom, these things are pretty boss" LOL. It is probably the 1st and last time I'll ever see him near my scrap supplies.. LOL. but it was fun while it lasted!

SIMPLY SAID

I wanted to thank 2 great people that have been very helpful to me and my family over the last few months. It was sort of half business and half personal so I wanted to just do a simple card, and this is what I came up with. I used Martha Stuart's scoring board to make the envelopes and MS edger for the top of the card. The card is made with some stamping up papers and a stamping up stamp.

LIVE LOVE AND SMILE!

Here's a few pics that were taken at completly different times, but I liked them because they are of the 4 of us and everybody is actually smiling.. LOL I love to look back at my kids when they were just wee little ones. They used to JUMP in front of the camera with huge smiles. Now, yikes, you gotta pin em' down to get a shot.. LOL. Anyway, I saw this layout idea in a Page Map book and really liked it. I have so much twine and string and stuff and never use it, so here it is. I had gotten the paper clips from Staples. They have this little area in which they have buckets of all different kinds of paper clips. From cat shaped, to guitar shaped to dotted.. to colored.. All kinds. You fill a small clear bucket for like $3 bucks. It was fun to put them use!

YAY SENIOR YEAR!

These were pictures my daughter and I took of her going back to her senior year of high school and her new Senior shirt. She was nuts about it.. LOL. It's too cute how they made the R into 12! I went simple on this page. I had a few chipboard pieces that I think I picked up and put down 25 times and FINALLY decided to glue them to something.. LOL

THE BEST IS YET TO BE

Here is a great great layout that Dawn did for me a few years back. I love the colors.. I love how she cut out the circle prints and pop dotted them up.. Clever!

The picture was taken at Laurie's 4th of July party. I had no idea she took it. She suprised me with it ! I've displayed it in my house everyday since, I absolutely love it and I get compliments on it all the time . My husband is diabetic and has stage 4 kidney failure and struggles a lot with it and has to endure dialysis 4 days a week, and many times when he gets down, and we worry about the future, I'll look at that picture and read the quote. "Grow old with me, the best is yet to be" Thanks Dawn.
