BOLD, BEAUTIFUL AND BLING - DAY 5

Good morning! It is a beautiful sunny and warm day here in New England, we have been waiting soo long for this day. Did everyone catch the Royal Wedding? Kate did really look like a princess.

This is a card that Dawn made for her dad. I love the bold colors and the little dragonfly that looks like it has bling on it. I love the embossing on the hippo. So cute!!!

Here are the deets:
Create A Critter Cart, Hippo cut at 3"
The nose was embossed with Swiss Dots CB folder
Paper from Stash
Dragonfly brad by Doodlebug Designs

"Hippo Birthday" stamp by My Pink Stamper

These are the two sets that I got. Lots of fun sayings to use with the Critter cart!

BIG, BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL - Day 4

Good morning! We have two more sleeps (that is what I use to say to my kids if there was a big event coming up, only 4 more sleeps and then its Christmas) until we (Kel, Dawn and I) head to Creating Keepsakes Convention. We went last year for the first time and loved it. We are taking I think a total of 4 classes and of course shopping in between. This layout I did three years ago, since come September it will be our 18th anniversary. But I happen to come across and thought it fit the theme this week very well.

I was so impressed I could use pink paper with my husband in the picture!! The number 15 is chipboard from StampinUP! and covered with patterned paper. Rub-ons on the bottom of the page and I inked the little chipboard swirl.
We will definitely take pictures of the CK Manchester event.

BRIGHT BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL - Day 3

Good morning Ladies!!! I hope all is well and everyone is recovered from Easter. It seems so long ago!! Here is a layout I did of my youngest guy (when he was 7) playing baseball. I used a lot of bright colors on this layout. There were a lot of bright colors in the pictures so I thought would play those up. The strips of paper are from CosmoCricket and I believe are from the Boyfriend Stack. I love CC paper. Of course the blue cardstock is from StampinUP! My go to paper. The world All Star is cut from the Sports Mania Cartridge. The word "our" is thickers and I inked with blue ink.

I also wanted to let you know, I am sooooo excited that I order the new Cricut Expression 2 yesterday. Oh yes I did. I am so excited. I may not be on the blog for a while as I will be sitting on my front stairs patiently awaiting for UPS to deliver it. I will definitely let you know how I like it. Has any one else jumped on the Provocraft wagon and order one? I would love to know if you did!!
Have a great day!!

Here is what Dawn has to say about this gorgeous card "Edwin and Tilda stamp from Magnolia stamps, colored with Copics. All the embellies are from my stash. You can't really see it here, but the bride's flowers and collar are Stickled. I think I am going to have to make my own envelope for this! LOL!" And, she's finished it off with some BRIGHT bling!!

THE BRIGHT..THE BOLD and the BEAUTIFUL

Happy Monday Scrappers! I hope everyone had a great weekend. For those who celebrate Easter, I hope it was chocolate filled and EGGtastic!! YA.. I had my Wheaties this morning..lol. Anyway, welcome to bright bold and beautiful week! This week's theme will be fillled with projects that have that boldness...that flair..that burst of color or brightness...those beautiful big flowers we all have hidden or that awesome bright pink ribbon we're dying to use. Check your scrap supplies ladies..we have that bright bold and beautiful picture or embellshment just BURSTING to get used! Here is one I did of my daughter on black paper.. trying to make it look almost like a chaulk board.. I used my bright white pen and stenciled some fun squiggles in the corners. I cuttlebugged to bring in the bold... I then went for lime green to brighten things up a bit. Of course the beauty of it all is my daughter.. LOL. This was a fun pic my friends Susan's daughter took of my daughter crouching down in the middle of a crowd at a concert.. I just love the personality she caught in my daughter.

BACK IN THE DAY, Day 4

I didn't go way way back in the day for these photos, but I did go about 5-6 years back. Back to the days when my son couldn' t get enough of fishing with his dad....peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and kisses from mom in public. Now.. at almost 19, he's in college eating big boy food, lol...he traded his fishing rod in for a long board and if I kissed him in public he start to scream "stranger in my personal space" and have me arrested.. LOL. To be honest, hearing his amazing fishing adventures feels like it was last weekend...boy time flies.

BACK IN THE DAY WEEK - Day 3

Good morning fellow scrappers! I hope all is well in blog land. This week is school vacation for our kids and I am on vacation too!! Such a nice week!

I am working on painters tray, this is my first one so I am learning as I go. This is a picture of the entire tray. As you see the middle square is empty. Still trying to figure out what to put there. Maybe the word Legacy, or Past?

The first square is my Mother, my Grandfather and My Great Grandfather.

The second square is my Grandfather in Brussels During WWI.

The 3rd square is my Grandmother at the World Fair in New York in 1932!

Most of my papers came from Graphic 45. They have such awesome, awesome vintage stuff. Of course some of the embellishments came from Tim Holtz; the clock and the clip. Some embellishments came from Graphic 45. I bought all of these a local scrapbooking store.

BACK IN THE DAY WEEK, DAY 2

Here is a great canvas done by Dawn. She purchased the canvas frame at a local craft store. She began by painting it all over with Modge Podge. She then placed her torn papers down and covered it all again. The Modge podge acts like glue and covers your work with a nice shiny smooth cover. I watched her put this together and it's a fun project if you're thinking of trying it. I adore this picture of Dawn and her siblings and if you've seen any of her layouts here that her son and daughter are in, I bet you would agree with me that they look just like Dawn and her brother from back in the day. I want to say that the title and flourish are rub ons.. but dont quote me and Dawn can clarify that for us. I love to see old family photos and this is a great way to display them !

Kel and I (and Dawn) have a bunch of pictures from back in the day and are trying to get them scrapped. These are pictures are of my Mom. I think she was 6 or 7 in the photos and they are two of my favorite pictures of her. This is crinkly ribbon I got over at http://craftspotbykimberly.blogspot.com/ I first saw this ribbon on Kate's blog and fell in love with it. Customer service is awesome, I ordered on Thursday and had it by Saturday and I had to use it. I just love. This little tag came from the K& Company Life's Journey paper stack. Awesome stack!! All the paper I used on this layout came from that paper stack. The ribbon under the picture is from Graphic45 Vintage Ribbon, Heritage Cricut Cart, page 47 was used for the Mother title. The flowers are from my stash. We have some fun, fun projects to show you this week. Thanks again for joining our blog hop!!

BLOG HOP DAY 2 - BLOG HOP DAY 2

Welcome to day 2 of the Basket Case Blog hop! Kel and I have another fun project for you today. This project is again using vinyl. We love vinyl and if we haven't mentioned this before, it is so easy to use!! Don't forget to check the sidebar for the prize offered to the commenter's of the blog hop. For this project Kel and I used a square vase picked up for $1 at the Dollar Store. We used vinyl to decorate this vase as well. Again using Plantin Schoolbook for the grass and A Child's Year for the eggs. We decorated the inside of the vase with some paper Easter grass and a silk sunflower from our stash secured with a brad into a 2" styrofoam ball that was sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer mist. We used a popsicle stick for the stem.

If you came here from http://4goofballs.blogspot.com/. you are in the right place. Please head on over to http://www.lovetocrop.com/. Thanks to Rhonda of http://scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/. for all her hard work in putting this blog hop together. Please feel free to leave a comment for a chance to win the fun vinyl prize. BLOG HOP - BLOG HOP - BLOG HOP

Welcome to the Basket Case Blog Hop!! Kel and I are so excited to show off our fun Easter centerpiece we made. We started with a glass vase measuring 6 x 5.5 we purchased at JoAnn's with a coupon. We used vinyl to decorate it. We used the following cartridges for this project, Plantin Schoolbook for the grass page 69 cut at 7"x 3" and A Child's Year page 33 for the eggs cut at 1.5" x 1", the clouds were from Create a Critter page 28 cut at 3" x 1.5." Feel free to add spring flowers, or butterflies if you make one of your own. We cuttlebugged the images using Tiny Mossiacs, Swiss Dots, Divine Swirls and Bubbles. The adorable pink and blue treat holder 3D eggs were made by Dawn on her silhouette. This was such a fun project to do and it was so easy to use the vinyl. Basically cut, peel and stick and your project is done. We have been having so much with vinyl that we are GIVING AWAY 4 PIECES OF 12 X 12 VINYL to a lucky winner during this blog hop (check side bar for prize).

Here is the beautiful card. Non traditional Easter colors, but that is what I like about it. Kel said she used StampingUP cards stock and ink. The ribbon and stamp are from her stash. I love this stamp.

We also wanted to remind you about the Blog Hop (our very first) we are in tomorrow and Saturday. Thanks to Rhonda from scraphappens for inviting us. We have a really fun vinyl project we did for both days and a FUN, FUN prize!!!

EASTER CARD by Dawn

Its so fun to surprise the recipient of your card with one that is non traditional like this cute one done by Dawn that flaps up and open to show the sentiment. I really like her color choices on this card, that butterfly paper is great and the green and purple go so well together. I'm always a fan of the faux stiching too. Nice job Dawn!

EASTER WEEK - Day two

Good morning!! We think (keeping our fingers crossed) Spring is here. It was 70 degrees yesterday and today is going to 60! We will take it!
Here is an Easter Card I did using Stretch your Imagination cartridge. The polka dot paper, I just love is from my stash, but the polka dots are felt, so awesome. The ribbon is of course StampinUP! I blinged the bunnies nose and added a little glitter to the eggs to make them look painted.

I hope spring has arrived where you live, it really does change the mood!

PASTEL CHALLENGE SENT IN BY Sandra

I just LOVE the lil caterpillar on this card send in by Sandra of ROSEPETALCREATIONS Here is what Sandra had to say: "The background paper is from Papermania SUMMER BLOOM COLLECTION. I then punched a pale green pearlised oval out with a Nestie shape. Then using a different shape I punched three different sizes of the same design and layered them together. I added pink stickles round the edge of the larger shape and then this was positioned overlapping the top edge of the card. My image is called CAITY CATERPILLAR from Deedeesdigis, the sentiment is from the same set. To complete the look, I assembled some small flowers with punched sprigs of leaves." Go on over and check out her fantastic blog ladies!!
