Graduation Card

Here is a card I made for our friend's daughter for her graduation. I am trying to get better and making cards. I am more of a scrapbooker, but I am trying.

I started out with a 5.5 card base and then I cut out the "Class of" from Wild Card, at are you ready for this 10.50, that was as big I could go! That is no way shape or form 10.50! Sometimes the Cricut does drive me crazy!!! I used Plantin School book for the 2011 and I shadowed that. Bakers Twine, the star paper is from my stash and the word graduation and the diploma is from Joelee Boutique embellishments. The yellow strip of paper, embossed with Forest Branches and I used a Fiskars punch on the edges.

Funny story about the punch. I had my older son (16) with me and I had to run to Michaels, and he said do you need me to come in. I was going to say no, but realized I had two coupons, and then I thought if I see something I really want he can wait in line with one of he coupons. He was all game and off we went. I made it a quick trip, but the fact he wanted to come I was thrilled!!!! I got this punch for $7.50.

He turned 16 in May and let me tell you, I am LOVING this 16 year old!! He has changed, all for the good and he really is growing up into a gentleman, makes me sad and proud at the same time!!

  9. Super card! You've been making amazing cards lately. You're a natural!
What a great story about your son, too. It's tough that they grow up so fast, but so rewarding when they turn out being great people.
Once, I dragged the family to Michaels and had four of the five of us purchase items with different coupons!! My husband goes to Michaels with me all the time. It's our joke that I go with him.
