MONTHLY CHALLENGE

I wanted to do this last year but didn't. The challenge is to do a page of as many or as few photos and/or etc. from "your life January 2010". The last Sunday of each month, I will post the same challenge and so on. It may get me/us to slow down and smell the roses and put a memory on film or in writing or keep that keepsake. If all goes well, we will have 12 pages (or more) of 2010 by January 2011 of next year! A lot will happen, so lets get in there and scrap it! If anyone has done this.. do you have any good tips?? P.S. Bye bye January!

LAYOUT "Valentines Day"

Ok ladies here is my shot at a Valentines Page. I used DCWV patterned paper, Old World Stack. I also used StampinUP! Red paper. The words Be My Valentine were cut out at 9" using the Wild Card Cartridge. To make the frames I used Stretch your Imagination, #14, cut at 5 and 6" each. For the little Heart Tags I used Home Accents cute at 1" each. The rub on is StampinUP Rub on. I do love StampinUP rub ons. Enjoy. Once I get a picture for it I will post that as well.

I hope everyone has a scrapping weekend!

TIP: Use a lint roller to pick up little baby pieces of paper and such off work surfaces, self and rugs! I just "lifted" that idea off ProvoCraft site. Makes sense to me :) -Kel

A BOY AND DOG layout by LB

My photographer friend, Dawn, took these pictures from across the street. I loved them and had to scrap them. I stamped the the blue paper (which is of course StampinUP! paper), with a StampinUP! stamp. I used two different winter papers, that I thought looked nice. I also used sandpaper on the blue paper to make it look like the wind is blowing. Not sure if that shows up.

LIKE FATHER LIKE SON layout by LB

I started out with these two pictures that I loved of my husband and son. I had them both laying on my mat. I thought let me do something with clean lines and this was the finished product. I could have added more embellys, but it would take away from it. The square I cut from Home Accents on the Cricut they are 2.5 inches. I love to use the Cricut for shapes because tehy come out perfect everytime!!

BROTHERS Under 30 min. layout by Best Hobby Eva

This page took me under 30 minutes to do. I have had this picture since 1997 and I always loved it. It is my brothers and husband. I used the title Brothers, instead of brothers-in-law. They are a close bunch and consider themselves brothers.

I used Cosmo Cricket, Earth Love & The Boyfriend paper stack for the background page. The strips of paper are cut at 1.5 inches and 1 inch wide. For those I used Cloud Nine Coco Mint. I love, love this paper stack. The colors and prints are amazing. Believe it or not the buttons I found in an antique store. They had baggies next to a huge bin of buttons. I filled up the baggie and paid $1.50 for a ton of buttons. You never know where you are going to find scrap supplies. The letters I did with the Cricut, using Plantin School book and paper from the Cloud Nine stack. On the bottom I used paper ribbon, I have had this ribbon for so long and decided I needed to use it.

TECHNIQUE: alcohol inks & gypsy

This was fun. On the vellum I used Alcohol inks. It is easy, fun, and fairly cheap after initial expense. You use tiny drops of ink, so they last a long long time. I will post pics of how I did the inking in the near future. The bottom border was created using my gypsy. Welding is such fun and really changes the look of things!
